Posted 13 years agoWell, things have changed so much since the first development of Helix Raider.
Still remember the first time I developed this character, heh, a rushed development to have a fursona (by rushed I mean made up on the spot at the con) while attending my first furcon, MiDFur. Some evolution has taken place, but I just feel like its time to move on and create a new character. This character, I feel, I can no longer modify to suit my changed ways and tastes, he was created with a high tech, futuristic/cybernetic feel to him, a taste that has changed with time and my changed habits here.
With that being said. I will be winding down all operations in regards to this character. Those that I have agreements with I will still honor.
Have a new fursona in the works here, when the time comes to finally wind up everything with this character, I will post a journal and leave a new link that will lead to my new account.

Thoughts - Name
Posted 13 years agoBeen thinking for a while now. You all know of my name, Helix Firestorm Raider. Well, I have been thinking of adding a secondary part to it, something a little more old fashioned or something that would sound like it might fight in a fantasy/medieval setting. Hard to write something when you have a name that is somewhat modern/futuristic. Unfortunately, I suck at coming up with names here. Any thoughts?

Posted 13 years agoWell, if your wondering what the heck is going on with me here, I'll say this much. Work brought in a new team working system last week, of course, they did overlook one aspect, the number of strong, capable workers in our group capable of sustaining any kind of relentless pace for any kind of appreciable time. Unfortunately, I just happen to fall into that category. Side effect of two hours of relentless heavy lifting on me? Muscular pains, doctor said I had some weak muscle groups mostly relating to the back area, and that area is getting a good working out.
Now I've been taking some pain killers to cope here, but the ones I just stopped using have some side effects on people, and for me, it was drowsiness, not a good thing especially when you have to drive to work and back since it is night job. Swapped to some other pain killers and they ain't hitting me with drowsiness yet. Still. That's basically what is going on in my life. Only two days where I am not going to be completely out of it, those days are Sunday, which happens to be the day in which I do historical reenactment, and Monday.
The only new problem I have? Messed up sleep times thanks to the previous set of pain killers. Still, should be hanging around a little more than what I previously predicted. Just don't expect me to be 100% reliable in any regards here.

Posted 13 years agoSome days, I have to wonder if this is a world that I enjoy living in. The modern age of man, so many technological advancements, yet, at the same time, so much suffering cause their fellow man. I do have to wonder at times, why man is so compelled to inflict suffering on his fellow man. Is it because man has forgotten the lessons taught to us in the oldest days by nature, when living life in tune with nature was more preferable than the technological advancements of civilization? I do have to wonder here at times, what kind of world this would be if man were to abandon his need for greed, his need to inflict suffering on his fellow man. Would this be a world for the better or the worse? It is something I have to contemplate on at times. Would man ever give up his ways and become one with nature once more? Creating a perfect balance between the technological, the physical and the spiritual. Would there ever be such a day when this would become reality?

Am I truly awake? Has the world I have been living in been nothing more than a dream?
One must ask themselves this question, for it is a question that only the asker can truly answer. But then, we wonder, if we are living in a dream, what does reality feel like? Do I even want to leave the dream for a world of the mundane? Where one must hide their true nature from everyone. Do we live in a world that conforms to our dreams and desires or one where the corporate man, religion and government says that it is only their way we can live by.
There are times where I have asked this question myself. The world we live in is too disconnected from the old ways. I want to live in a different time, where the tales of souls and swords were yet to be written in stone. I want to wander the world as only a traveller could, to see the sights of the ancient world, to breathe the fresh air before the time of modernization. I want to live in a different world, a world where I never have to hide my face again, never again to conform to the norms placed on us by society.
I want to live true to what my soul desires.

How one feels they know a place, have knowledge into things that normally remain out of reach to many or just feel that you were born in the wrong century or even on the wrong world? How you never are able to relate to another human being in the ‘normal’ sense, where isolation and silence have become your best friends. They give you a place where you can sit and think, a place where you can contemplate on your thoughts and feelings.
There is something out there, something more than just this mere human existence, a craving for something, knowledge, understanding and a return to one’s own previous form.
There are things out there that normal humans seem to take for granted, thinking that it is all a figment of imagination, of one’s dreams. How they think that the modern world we live in is the real world and the dream world is that, nothing more than dreams.
I write this because this is what I feel, for I feel the world we live in is not the real world. The dreams, the knowledge of distant stars. There is something within me that I feel. I feel that there is something more, that I am not human.............
