So my graphics card has been giving me a lot of performance issues as of late. It's a 660 with 2gb vram that I cut corners with back when I had to build a new PC from scratch. Now it chugs pretty hard with almost any game released past 2010.


That's why I was debating doing something I haven't done in a while: a sale. I was thinking it could be for pooltoys and the new maidbot theme that I've gotten a lot of positive response from. I'm also gonna try out a special three part sequence rate that I might include in standard comms to make some form of sequence more affordable for you guys.


Anyway, the sale rates are $50 for basic shades and $70 for detailed. You can also get a three part sequence with basic shades for $148. If you're interested you can drop me a note with the usual info. Keep in mind that I won't be taking too many since this is more of a quick detour from my current work.

Kinda late to this bandwagon. I knew as much when I saw I was the only one in the theater......MOVING ON


It was a movie I initially walked out of only finding it to be good but not great. It wasn't until I thought about it more that I noticed it's better qualities. Disney geeeeeenerally has a higher standard for their animated films than most but seeing the trailers for the angry birds movie, the new ice age movie, and the secret life of pets during the trailer reel showed that films with talking animals don't really need to be "good" to sell well. Zootopia was a lot better than it really needed to be is what I'm getting at here. There aren't any cringe-worthy animal puns (aside from maybe character names) everything about it's world is well realized and well crafted, and the humor is surprisingly mature for the most part. It even has a dig at the same kind of braindead knockoff films at one point.

As for the furry aspect of the film....I didn't really get it. A lot of the characters are fun and the film's theme of racial differences allows most of them to have at least a little depth and Judy and Nick's relationship is cute. But it didn't really affirm my "status as a furry" (That subject is a bit complicated anyway). If anything I felt kinda awkward knowing all the sin I've drawn while watching the film. So yeah, don't expect me to leap for my drawing desk and produce a torrent of zootopia wank material.


Anyway, I trust a lot of you have likely seen it way before I did. What did you think? Also, I'm gonna be trying to go to the movies a bit more often so I might talk film like this more often as well.

So a few things:


I've thought about getting rid of flats since most people come to me for the shiny.


And I've thought about raising pricing a little bit. Probably ten buck across the board. But I really don't know if I've improved enough for it to be worth it.


I know most aren't going to agree with things getting more expensive but I have wanted to take more time with everything I do and make it worth the extra cost. What do you guys think?

Picked up pokken today and played a couple hours of it with a friend. I'm liking how it plays so far. It's not quite like Tekken but it's got enough air juggling to remind me of it; matches can end just as quickly too. The designs are just as weird as I remember from the trailers with a lot of very distinct fur textures and really shiny skin on others. Braixen is also kinda awkward in how bubbly and girly it acts.


Anyway, anybody else have some time with it yet?

I've realized I haven't been posting journals as much lately. Haven't really had much to report aside from doing what I said I have been. I'm happy with how much work I've managed to get done over the past few weeks. I have less than twenty names on the comm list currently and I hope to have it down to ten by the end of next week (though I know that's a bit ambitious). I'm also gonna go ahead and open patreon as more or less a tip jar for now. Maybe with a monthly raffle for a free comm but I'll have to see about that. Patreon's weird about gambling in every sense of the word.

Work aside, I've been playing a shitload of warframe. It's a game I finally found a bunch of friends who play it consistently; which has been a big problem in terms of my ability to commit to games as of late. It's a pretty damn grindy game but I always liked grindy games if the grinding is satisfying. Comes from all those years of diablo I guess. I also remembered that I was gonna stream darksouls at some point. Think I'll make a twitch channel and finally get on that. I was also dabbling with SF5 but matchmaking still seems just a bit too slow still. Although it's eons better than when it started out.


Anyway, hope you guys have been getting along alright.

So as you know, I've been working on clearing my list. Which has gone smoothly so far. I have a bunch of sketches finished that should clear about four or five names off the list this week.


Buuuuut since streetfighter 5 is coming out tomorrow I might take up one or two coms to pick that up :'3

So I've been up a bit later recently, so all morning streams seem to be out of the question. As a result I'll be doing streams from 12 PM - 3 PM EST and 12 AM - 3 AM EST if I can manage. So two shorter streams for the time being.


And lastly: patreon. With work still backed up and being taken care of, I haven't been able to start on comics as I was hoping I would by the start of this year. That's why I was thinking I might at least get it going with some basic rewards for the time being until I can start on the comic. Mostly so I can get myself familiar with how it all works.

So after the christmas shenanigans have concluded and I have a somewhat normal sleep schedule again I'll be picking streaming back up on monday. Fridays might be when I just relax since I gotta work with when the family's around and sadly the weekends are less relaxing than they could be when they're around as well.

I wasn't able to do a lot of what I set out to do last year. Mostly due to too much ambition I'd say. I wanna dial it back a bit in terms of how many goals and just go with a few key ones and just let whatever I do after that come naturally. That being said, first thing's first:

I've been hyping this up a lot over the past several months and I still plan to do it. But first I want to continue to commit to shrinking my list down more. After that's done I might do a few pages of the first series I have planned before officially putting it up just to have a jumping-off point. Plus it could show just how interested people might be in seeing the continuation of a story in advance :P And since I mentioned comms....


Commissions


Since christmas has rolled over I can lift the semi-hiatus I've been in now. Not to say I'll be taking on a bunch of work again right away. I may even open another hiatus if I feel I need the focus and can afford skipping income for a while. But as for my schedule, I've decided I'll be going through my list and doing one comm for each commissioner I currently have. This will make sure everyone who's currently waiting on work from me is happy and then from there I'll focus on people who have multiple pieces queued one at a time. That being said, anybody who has any questions or worries can note me and then we can work out something in my schedule.


Streaming


There's a couple reasons for my lack of streaming lately. One being that, obviously, I've been busy with a ton of christmas gifts. Many of which were supposed to be surprises and thus couldn't be streamed. Next is the fact that I've been pretty disorganized lately and that's affected my workflow and stress levels. Trying to fumble with what the hell I was gonna do as well as doing that in front of a bunch of people was a losing proposition. Lastly, I've just been having plain sleep issues. Not just sleeping but rather when I sleep. It's been erratic and ever-changing. Making it difficult to pinpoint a proper schedule.

But with all that said, I'll be getting back into streaming soon. I'm not sure when yet. My brothers are still off on christmas break and my current sleep schedule is firmly placed between both evening and late at night. Which is tricky when either the whole day or the whole night is the best time to stream. But I'll be getting back into it as soon as I can.
