I'm making this journal rather late here since it's just after 9 PM on Christmas, but I hope you all had a great time celebrating the holidays!

I didn't do a whole lot for Christmas. Just had a roast lunch with my mother. I prefer quiet Christmases at home anyway, but I do wish my girlfriend was here as well, haha.

I don't know when it decided that working was not an option, as it was working fine yesterday and this morning??? I can't tell if the hard drive is dead or if there's something wrong with the cables, since it could just be that. It hasn't been making any weird sounds or anything? Nothing that would be concerning, just normal working sounds so... I don't know what to think.

It's not very old either, only about a year or so. It's odd. But now there's a chance I've lost a year's worth of art as well as some photos and other things. I KNOW I SHOULD BE BACKING UP THE BACK UP, but honestly, it's something I just forgot about All The Time, so yeah that's my fault.... but it's only been about a year since I got this hard drive so... idk idk idk.

I'm gonna try to call a place that does data recovery and ask about it. Hopefully it won't be too expensive... or maybe there's just a problem with the cables, I have no idea at this point.

I've been sick since Monday and it's making me feel bad. Art is also frustrating for me right now since I can't seem to draw anything worthwhile.

So I'm tired and sick and just not feeling great about my art and stuff. Great!!!!

I sure have spent the whole weekend playing Ultra Moon and I've just finished the main story! NICE!!

My volunteer days really leave me so tired, which sucks because I really want to draw more and, ya know, finish more art???

Today is especially bad because I woke up at about 3 am or something with bad stomach pains.

I'm gonna try to finish more art, esp with PokéHalloween! I'd like to try to draw different things in between that, but lol

So, last week I started volunteering at an animal shelter!

My back has been hurting since I'm not used to doing much physical work and I end up feeling far more tired after finishing, but I think it's worth it! I've spent the most time helping with the cats so far, and I love all of them! Most are very affectionate and want lots of attention.

And with a combination of Telfast and Nasonex, my hayfever/allergies have not been destroying me. Excellent!

Anyway, I'm there three days a week and so far it's been going fine! I'm not sure how this will impact how much art I can post, since I wasn't posting that regularly anyway. I'm probably gonna fall rather behind on PokéHalloween though, haha.

YEAH!! I'm 27 now, time to change my age on everything, OOPS.

ANYWAY I'm excited!! I'm gonna be spending today and the weekend with my girlfriend and Pokkén Tournament DX is released today, so I can pick that up as well! AND G/S is rereleased today!! A VERY POKéMON BIRTHDAY, I LOVE IT!!!!!

I got back from Melbourne last night and I'm tired and sore lol. But I did have a great time at Comic Con! It did get overwhelming at times (they did have a quiet room where you could get away from it all though, which was nice), but it I did enjoy myself! Was exhausted by the end of it though, haha.

My girlfriend, our friends and I want to try to make it an annual thing, which would be so cool.

Anyway, I do enjoy going to Melbourne (it's bigger and far more interesting than my city) and I'm hoping to go back this year for PAX Australia in October.

I'm in Melbourne for Oz Comic Con this weekend! I've never been to a Comic Con and it's been a very long time since I've been to a big convention, so I'm pretty excited!!

Anyway, I've been wondering about opening commissions again. I'm not sure about it, but I would like to open them this year if there's any interest. I wish I had more art to upload, but I've been feeling so drained, unmotivated and just generally having a hard time drawing anything beyond silly doodles... and sometimes I can't even manage those. It makes me feel bad because I honestly just have so much I want to draw, but I can't get anything to work at all. Maybe I'm art blocked as well? HHhnnnn...

One day I'll be more active and post more art again..

I really do want to be able to sell adoptables, but I'm clearly not doing a good job since no one wants to buy my adopts. I guess I'm not good at making adopts that people want??

I may end up needing the extra money even more later in the year and I'm just?? so bad at actually creating stuff that people like, so I guess I won't be able to make much money from it. I'm not sure people even like my personal work tbh, it's not very appealing or unique.

I don't have any faith in selling commissions either, considering I barely got commission work when I actually did have them open. My art and creations just aren't that appealing, which is rather saddening (plus I'm always so tired, I have a lot of trouble getting personal work done, let alone paid work...).

I'm getting both (though Moon will be my main). I've always been 100% Team Litten and I've got my teams mostly worked out, but there's a couple of datamined spoiler Pokémon in there, so I won't list them.

I have a nice day planned!! I'm gonna spend it with my girlfriend. We're going to the cat café, then having a nice lunch where I can get a free meal because birthday and then later on we're going out to dinner.

What do you do when a parent you've never really met tries to contact you on Facebook???

I do not know my father. I mean, I know who he is, but he's never been in my life. I was raised by my mother and my grandmother.

My mother's friend found his FB last year, but I did nothing. Also found out that I have four other half siblings (I knew of one, but never met her). Now my mother's friend has given him my FB and he's sent a friend request.

Mother says I should accept, but I'm not sure if I want to, but I don't want to deny either? I don't know how I feel about this at all, this is overwhelming and I'm screaming internally.

I might just... think about it. This is... a Big Thing.

YEAH, I highly suspect my girlfriend gave me some of whatever she had (she thought she was getting better, but that turned out to be Not True). Thankfully, it appears to be just a cold, but it IS the third time I've gotten sick this year, which is pretty annoying. Anyway. I'm getting over an annoying sore throat, I'm coughing and my stomach has finally settled down after being rather unfriendly (couldn't eat very much without feeling sick, ugh). I reckon I'll be feeling much better next week.

AND, YEAH, my birthday is in two weeks (the 22nd) and I am excited! I've decided that I want to spend it with my girlfriend. Ya know, have lunch, go to the cat café and have dinner later. Some Nice Things!! I look forward to it!

ANYWAY, I'm gonna try and at least get rid of this sore throat, haha.

It looks like my laptop may be fixed up next week and it will only take a night. And because it's through the store where I bought it and it's still under warranty, I don't have to pay for it. My laptop will still need to be wiped, since it needs to have Win10 Home installed onto it, but I'm so thankful that I'll only be without it for a night.

Yeah, I'm hoping this all goes well and I won't have to deal with it after next week. We'll see.

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH BOY am I Angry.

I won't go on too much, but basically my laptop was preloaded with Windows 10 Enterprise instead of Home, which has made it impossible for me to activate. I've been through Windows/Microsoft support TWICE and it was all for nothing. The second time I called, tonight, it was one of the most insufferable and frustration experiences? I already dislike phone calls to people who aren't friends enough as it is.

It all lasted for more than an hour, had to ring up several times due to things on their end cutting out, etc, having to ask them to repeat things because i kept mishearing because lol phones and being redirected several times. They ended up redirecting me to support in the US?? And the reception was so bad I couldn't hear them properly and after ANOTHER redirect they just cut out and basically hung up. That was it for me. Just kinda broke down crying in frustration.

SO UH. That was for nothing and I'm upset! The only thing to do now is to have Home edition installed, which means wiping my laptop. Cool.

And also, since it's under warranty it's gonna end up being sent back to the manufacturer for this?? And I have no idea how long for. UGH.

Look, this isn't the first time I've gotten a laptop with some kind of problem, which makes this all worse. My previous laptop died in 2 weeks of owning it due to a faulty hard drive and I ended up with a replacement.... which also ended up with a faulty hard drive.

Basically I must be cursed because I am clearly not able to own computers that don't have some kind of issue upon obtaining them.
