Skiing woes.
Posted 13 years agoIt needs to snow so I can ski on fresh pow pow instead of what seems like a solid ice sheet. I took a couple nasty falls today. One of which bounced my head on the ice, popped my shoulder out, and bruised me from the knee to my ribs. Nothing is maimed but I am sure sore as hell! Time to rest for a few days and then give it another go. Gimme those double black diamonds already!
Anybody else here ski? What's your favorite place to go? Just curious. :)

Posted 13 years agoOkay, okay. I'm late posting this but I still wanted to say it! What did you guys do to celebrate?
A good friend came up for a visit and we decided to hit up the bars. In fact we partied so hard I can't even see straight today! I had way too much tequila, two-stepped for the first time in my life, won several costume contests, and got pulled over by a cop. (Thank the gods it was only for a tail light and he let me go.)

Posted 13 years agoI have art (suit?) block and can't decide what to make next.... What kind would you like to see? Fox, tiger, horse, elk, etc? This will end up being auctioned off, so if you like it be sure to keep an eye out. ;)

I will be putting everyone's name in a hat and drawing the winner around the first week of October! Good luck everybody!

There is no time limit on when this suit will be done. It could be a week or it could be several months. It all depends on when I can find enough time to get to the supply shop (which is three hours away) and to work on it, so please be patient.

Horse training?
Posted 13 years agoI've been working with horses all my life and ever since I moved to the southwest I have been working on refining my skills even more. A lot of people have suggested Parelli, but others have told me to stay far away from them. Others have suggested Downunder Horsemanship with Clinton Anderson. Any thoughts on which is better? What about a different method? Why?
I honestly haven't done much research into either one yet. I've been using my own techniques combined with pressure and release and it seems to be working well. I broke my first horse last fall and what a blast it was! I've already got him riding, laying down, bowing, kissing, rearing, noding/shaking his head, and if I drop something, he will pick it up and bring it to me. He's one smart ass friesian. <3
