A random idea
Posted 7 years agoA supervillain creates a weapon he calls the 'assimilation beam.' He calls it this because when the device charges it sounds like a slow, open-mouthed exhale and when it fires it sounds like a combination of a hum and a sizzling pan.

Posted 7 years agoI don't watch JoJo's Bizare Adventure on Toonami. I thought the first two seasons were okay, but there were aspects I considered forgivable in the Period Piece first seasons that I didn't like in the later ones. So, every week, I watch Black Clover, turn off the TV for 30 minutes, and come back for Ironblood Orphans.
Why am I telling you this?
BECAUSE FOR APRIL FOOLS, TOONAMI SHOWED THE FIRST EPISODE OF FLCL SEASON 3 SUBBED AND I MISSED IT!!!!!!!!!

What I hate about my most popular piece.
Posted 7 years agoLet's face it: I post WAY too rarely around here, and so it shouldn't come as too much of a surprise that one of my oldest posts is my most popular. Truthfully, it's rare that more than a few weeks go by where someone isn't Faving it.
The problem is, I don't know if it's really my work they're favoring.
This is the piece I'm talking about: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/9511245/ It's a two-part work. It's a coloration I did fairly early on, but more than that, it also contains a short story written by me: an adaptation of a scene from the tv show that inspired the picture. My issue is that I don't know what it is people are faving about it. For one thing, it's a popular character. Not only that, but it's that character in a situation that has developed a cult following of it's own. In addition, the linework was done by an incredibly popular and talented artist on this site. Both of these are factors that dampen my enthusiasm for it's popularity, but most of all, it's that for all the Views and Faves, only THREE people have ever commented on it. I don't know if they like my coloring, my writing, or if they just said 'Ooh, snake girl. Fav!!!'
Remember, people, artists want to know what you like about their submissions, so don't forget to comment.

Mainstream Furries
Posted 8 years agoSo I'm curious. What is the most unexpected appearance of 'furry' characters you've ever seen in mainstream media? I don't mean fursuiters on the news or regular cartoon characters, I mean characters that wee clearly intended to appeal to furries in places you wouldn't expect.
Here's an example of what I mean:

A challenge
Posted 8 years agoYou know what I'd like to see all of a sudden? Good versions of notoriously evil people/monsters. I'd particularly like to see a 'good' version of Pyramidhead. If any of you artist types are looking for an idea, try this.

Random thing from the internet
Posted 8 years agoApparently, Weird Al did a character on My Little Pony. His name is Cheese Sandwich, he's apparently the male version of Pinkie Pie. His 'cutie mark' is supposedly a grilled cheese sandwich, but it's CLEARLY an accordion. The weirdest thing is that apparently there's an MLP CCG, he appears on two cards, and the flavor text on BOTH are references to the song Albuquerque,
The trailer
Posted 8 years agoNow that the initial excitement is over, here's my scene-by-scene breakdown of the FLCL Season 2 trailer. If you haven't seen it yet, here it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yhW81Ekacf4
Let me just say that this is my take on what we're seeing.
1. Looks like the aftermath of season 1. You can see ‘Naota 2’ with cat ears and a torn skirt.
2. New character. Looks really cool. Attitude aside, she reminds me of Kitsurabami from season 1. However, she has a guitar with her (NOT Naota’s) and her Cadillac has no driver, so I’m thinking alien like Haruka.
3. Our first good look at ‘Naota 2.’ Cute, gloomy, probably angst-ridden and bored (sounds like Naota at the beginning of season 1, huh?) Also, look in the background. A baseball poster and a cat drawing similar to some imagery from season 1. We get a quick shot of her headphones before going outside to the bike rack and seeing THE Vespa. The license plate now reads ‘43-4something’.
4. A quick moment of a robotic eye looking at us and then away. Looks very ‘Medical Mechanica’ to me.
5. A quick close-up of Naota 2’s eyes (with glare indicating she’s looking at a laptop), followed by a scene of a giant red eye looking at her. The red of the eye is reminiscent of Atomsk’s form in the original season. Naota 2 is wearing the same dress as in scene 1 and the camera angle is the same (parts of a dream sequence, maybe?).
6. New character. Teenage boy with glasses, has a bandage on his head similar to Naota’s from Episode 1. Although his hairstyle is similar to Naota’s, the color and facial features are very different.
7. Shot of Naota 2 in bed in her PJs, still wearing the ears, with her phone going off. BUT WTF IS THAT LIGHT COMING FROM BEHIND HER WINDOW CURTAIN!!!
8. Quick shot of White Hair looking through binoculars. Again, reminds me of Kitsurabami.
9. Blonde lady in a classroom. Looks ditzy. A school teacher, maybe? (We know from earlier info that Haruka makes her entrance as a substitute teacher, but this is clearly not her).
10. MEDICAL MECHANICA PLANT!!! (Looks like stock footage, though).
Quick side note: THE PILLOWS ARE BACK!!!!!
11. Cool looking humanoid robot with a white finish and a blue, glowing faceplate. Calling her ‘Canti 2.’
12. Glasses Guy is pulling Naota 2 at a rapid pace, probably fleeing from something, while she looks confused. He may know more about what’s going on than others. (Also…THOSE EYEBROWS!!!!!)
13. We see a robot flying through the air. Looks like he might have the same eye we saw in point 4.
14. What we all came to see: HARUKO HARUHARA!!!!!
That's it. 42 seconds of awesomeness. Makes it hard to wait for next year to see what comes of this.

Posted 8 years agoWhat if all the Shadow Links that the Hero of Hyrule has had to deal with over the generations are NOT simply magical clones created in the moment, but are in fact past incarnations of the Hero who have been waiting for the next Link to arrive so that they may test him? We know it's conceivable thanks to the mysterious swordsman spirit from Twilight Princess, but my main inspiration for this is actually Zelda 2. Consider this: the Triforce of Courage was sealed in the tomb of an ancient hero, and the final boss you need to defeat is not the guardian Thunderbird, but a Shadow Link (The original Shadow Link, no less). It's not too far a stretch to think that the tomb is that of a past incarnation of Link, and a bearer of the Triforce of Courage.
What would you do?
Posted 8 years agoYou are working the register in a retail store. Everything has been going just like normal. Suddenly, an extremely attractive individual of your preferred sex walks into the store and begins browsing the wares. They seem to be completely oblivious to the fact that they are completely naked.
Do you...
a) ...ask them to leave the premises and return when they are wearing more socially acceptable attire,
b) ...try to service them as you would any other customer while attempting to ignore their nakedness, or
c) ...proposition them?

Posted 8 years agoSo on a whim I decided to watch the old He-Man cartoon on Netflix. I'm enjoying it, despite how corny it is sometimes, but I got to thinking...
Cringer and Battlecat.
Seeing how Cringer reacts to the prospect of the transformation and how vastly different his personality is afterwords, here's what I think it must be like for him...
Cringer is the 98 pound weakling of the family. Battlecat is the overenthusiastic jock older brother who forces Cringer to do things that are good for him, not realizing he's making the experience 10 times more traumatic for 'little bro.'

Posted 9 years agoYou play a demon recently freed from an ages-long imprisonment. You are weakened and need to restore your power, which you derive from masculine essence. Now in your heyday, you had an army of succubi to extract it for you, but now you've got nothing. Fortunately, you emerged next to a location that has an overwhelming abundance of easily seduced females and potent masculine energy...
...a high school.
The name of the game is 'Succubi High.' Your goal is to seduce and corrupt the female students and faculty into becoming your new succubi, and they will in turn harvest Masculine Essence from the male population, which will increase your own powers, allowing you to not only seduce stronger females, but to grant boons to the girls you've already corrupted to make them more effective at collecting M.E. By seducing new girls and upgrading old ones, you increase your influence, and thus expand the number of potential 'converts.' The endgame of controlling the entire school sees your reemergence as a demon lord. Replayability comes from the fact that different choices of who to seduce and how to upgrade your succubi opens up different options. (For example, you could choose to seduce the Queen Bee or the bookish girl she picks on. In the first case, success means she turns her hangers on into mindless minions who harvest large amounts of ME for you, but some of them would otherwise have been options for you to seduce later. In the latter case, the bookish succubi could have developed a strong following of males who would then have extracted rapey vengeance on the Queen Bee.) Of course, erotic scenes can be replayed at any time. Each girl has several, one being their final seduction, the others representing how they go about collecting ME.
How's that sound to you guys?
