FA just rolled out a pretty substantial update for how prose and stories are displayed. How are all y'all feeling about it? Historically I've uploaded PDF documents for folks who want something to download, and included the full text of the story in the post's description field (leveraging FA's bold, italics, and other formatting when possible.) I've always appreciated being able to quickly skim a story, Ctrl-F for a specific theme or term, and generally just have a more pleasant reading experience on mobile devices.

Now that FA shows an embed of PDF or text file uploads, has anyone's reading habits changed on the site? Any new norms I should keep my head on a swivel for? I don't currently have any plans to change how I upload stories, but I figured I'd toss out a quick journal to see where everyone's at.

I hope to get back into writing soon! This summer's been a little hectic. Lookin' forward to some cozy fall vibes soon.

Would you look at that, I just hit a nice round number of followers! It's been a little over a year since I've started uploading to FA. Thanks you so much for the warm welcome. I've been floored by the reception y'all have had to my writing.

The last 30 submissions have been a wild ride. What would you like to see more of? Satyrs? Toons? Oblivious beasts? Magic costumes? Reality altering gadgets? One off tales or multi-part epics? Serious or comedic stories? NSFW elements or a pure focus on TF? I'm eager to hear what parts of my writing click for you. I can be anything from a species, TF trigger, setting or tone.

I currently have a few projects on the back burner right now. The national TF holiday of Halloween always sneaks up on you before you know it. That, and I really need to get around to creating a proper character sheet. As always, I can be found over on Mastodon and Bluesky. I hope y'all are doing well, and thanks again for all the support.

I just wanted to give a quick shout out to the virtual convention ShifterCon. They just wrapped up their first event last weekend. It was a ton of fun getting to hang out and see a lot of long time participants of the TF community come together. Their Discord’s still open, so feel free to poke your head in even if you missed the event itself. It sounds like this isn’t going to be a one-off thing.

On the writing side of things. I just wrapped up my Halloween story for the year. Go give The Masquerade a gander if you haven’t already. I also had fun with some Octransfur 2024 prompts at the beginning of the month. I wasn’t able to finish all the prompts due to life events, but I’m happy with the stories I did manage to get out there. I’m particularly happy with Video, Myth, Unaware, Space, and Experiment if you're looking for a place to start. Tail was definitely my favorite.

We’re creeping up on the Halloween season! I’m curious. What Halloween tropes do y’all enjoy? Are there any costume TFs you’d like to see? I’ve got a few ideas bouncing around at the moment, but I’d love to hear which critters do well with enchanted zippers or cursed masks.

Hey there! I'm Here4Hooves. Over the course of the last year, I've been working to improve my writing by posting a variety of chapters over on the CYOC interactive fiction website. I've got enough stories under my belt now that I figured I might as well start editing them and posting them in a more complete form. I hope you enjoy them! My narrative focus typically skews towards satyrs and other mythical creatures. I'm a sucker for the classic "Spells 'R' Us" style magic shop story, as well as transformation stories with costumes as a trigger. I'm always eager for more feedback, so let me know what y'all think.
