Well howdy!
Posted a year agoIt's been uh.
.........A very long time, hasn't it? Kind of just fell off the planet there for a moment.
And then I got logged out and the dang captcha didn't work so I just said 'screw it' for about three years lmao.
But surprise! I guess I'm uploading here again as part of my upload rounds. :>
So uh. Hello! Again!

Healing
Posted 6 years ago'Bout time for another Update, eh?
We're getting better, moving on slowly. Jinti and I think we're going to try adopting a bonded pair of cats in the coming weeks once we get the house cat safe. It's..I think we're ready. The last month was a roller coaster of events and now that we have time to breathe I think we're ready.
I'm also diving back in to regular creating, which is always nice. So here's hoping I'll have more to upload and share soon. :>

Rough [CW: Pet death.]
Posted 6 years agoHey folks. Sorry for the sort of silence and smatterings of art over the last several weeks. It's been... ..rough, to say the least.
Back in August our dog, Fritz, a wonderful, 105 lb, white gsd started to develop strange symptoms that we couldn't figure out. Our vet couldn't either. He started with pain while barking, enough that we took him to the vet, and over the course of that week it evolved in to a full loss of motor functions and appetite. Resulting in us taking him to UGA for neurology testing/mri's, ect. It was expensive, but we just couldn't make that decision without knowing why.
Turns out he had, over the course of that week, developed a tumor at the base of his neck, between his spine and his spinal cord. It was compressing on his spine and causing his loss of motor skills and pain. They could operate to remove it, but the recovery period (4+ weeks of crate rest) would just give the tumor time to regrow and he'd be back needing another surgery. Radiation therapy would ease the pain, but it wouldn't give him his motor functions back.
So, Jinti and I had to make the hardest decision, and we had to let our boy go. At just 9.5 years old.
It's been rough. We've had Fritz since he was 8 weeks old. He was the light of our life. And now the house is quiet and little things make it hard to focus.
What I have posted in that time have been some commissions I recieved to cover Fritz's vet bills.
I don't know when we'll be back to 'normal'. Probably not ever. But I felt I owed folks an explanation on where I've been. I'm trying to get back into the swing of creating, but it's hard and little things trigger memories that send me right back to a blubbering mess.
I know this journal was a downer, but the more I talk about what happened the easier it gets. That's all.
Thanks for reading.
