A Hexxy 2011 Retrospective
General | Posted 14 years agoThere are only two good things that happened to me this year. One: it's ending. Two: a chance encounter. Other than that, nothing good came of this year. The bar has been set fairly low for 2012.
What? You were expecting some kind of a review? Screw that, I have nothing good to say about this dramatically miserable year, and I'm NOT going to give it the distinction of garnering a major bitch-fest outta me.

Hexxy Holidays Everybody!

Time for some fat man in red to drag his bag down a chimney and fill your over-sized cloth socks with presents, and maybe toss a few under that tree you murdered, dragged into your home and put on display. AKA: MERRY FREAKIN' CHRISTMAS!
Been a bit of an interesting week. ALL MY ROOM MATES ABANDONED ME D:< But all's well. Fortunately, urudezu was around to hang out with. But most of all, I had
cekuba making sure I didn't spend a moment alone this week. This'd have been a painfully lonely week otherwise... So as I've said a lot, good friggin' god I'm lucky for them xD
And that's what the holiday season should be about. Forget your presents and other commercial whatchamawhozitz. This is a season for spending time with those you love (all your friends) and those you tolerate (them family people). You can spend all the money in the world, but it'll never buy you the camaraderie, compassion and togetherness a good group of friends and a loving family can bring you. This has never been a season of filling your credit card with gift expenses to me (though it certainly has done just that this year). The people who complain that Christmas has lost it's value are just as bad as those that "commercialize" it. The season has only lost its value once you let it; don't ever let some other nutcase tell you otherwise. Christmas for me has always been the perfect excuse to be a soppy, sappy mushy hare of real Christmas values, and I hope it goes the same for all of you :3.
So I'm off to go pester the hell outta my family now. Get me some free food and a bit of egg nog! Upon that, merry Christmas everypony-- er, body!!!

Comic Practice, Potential Contest. WARNING: TL;DR EN MASSE
General | Posted 14 years agoThe world is falling apart, torn asunder by a force beyond comprehension. The time remaining in this world's life can literally be counted in minutes now. This world is now beyond salvation. And at the heart of it all, basking in the nightmares of his handiwork, is the culprit: one Von Mercalli, chaos embodied and personified. Imbalance and discord, doing what he does best: wreaking havoc.
Though the world may die, brave heroes from abroad refuse to let it go quietly. Headed by the one remaining HexV, an entourage of the world's strongest charge to face Von and exact revenge for the devastation he caused. But are these brave souls truly powerful enough to overcome chaos himself?

Okay, poetic. That's great. Onto the nitty gritty details of this here proposition.
Urudezu, Ixiah and I are about to start up a comic. What I want to do before then is figure out a method to our madness. A means of drawing this comic that's efficient and devoid of complication. So we're going to practice with this; Hex storming the arena of Von for one final show-down to avenge the horror Von inflicted upon an otherwise peaceful world.
But then I figured why not take this a step further? Now I love reading about other people's characters. All the powers and abilities, designs and styles... all of it fascinates me. But what bothers me is how few people are willing to show weakness in their "perfect" characters. So I figured why not kill two birds with one stone?
Now I haven't fleshed out the administrative details of this contest (Urudezu and I are working on that), but the basic premise is this: this comic is a series of one on one battles against Von. Your character, for whatever reason, wants vengeance against him. They show up to fight him, but they are ultimately defeated. Just before Von kills your char, the next contestant shows up to save the day! Repeat. Each contestant draws their own battle from beginning to end.
I'm basically challenging you to draw your characters weak and losing. In comic form.
I feel this will not only help Urudezu and I to set a scene and practice drawing pages of comics, but also gives us a chance to observe how others do it. Pick up a few tricks here and there. It also gives you the chance to flesh out your character in what I feel is a critical aspect: weakness.
Now right now there's no real details of when we start, how we start, what we'll award, how we'll judge, etc etc etc. Urudezu, Ixiah and I have a LOT on this to flesh out. I'm just pitching the idea, and this journal is just to see who'd be interested (Really want some participation, otherwise there's no point). So spread the word please! =D

Potential Free Adult Hex Art

"Hex? What the hell? I thought you said you weren't going to do adult art?! LIAR! BURN THE WITCH!"
Now that's true, I never intended to. I made a big stink about it every now and then too. I also NEVER intended to have Hex in porn. And ya know? I'm probably not going to do adult art on commission or professionally or whatever. But then why am I even bringing this up in the first place? Cause honestly, look at all the unusual poses and positions characters wind up in on pornographic art. There are so many funky and odd positions in porn that it's really the perfect chance to practice poses beyond the dull 3/4 pose. LOTS of character interaction too, obviously, and that's something I need practice with too. And good porn has good anatomy, so obviously another chance to improve at that too, right?
So I'm offering to draw up some adult art. And though I already have the epic-massive list of free art already, I'm offering up the TENTATIVE POSSIBILITY of having me draw adult art for you. You know, just something to do on the side in case I need a break from the epic list of epic epicness. This is also perhaps one of the only chances I'll ever give to get adult art of/with Hex. Of course there is obviously stuff I won't do, but talk to me and I'll tell you whether I'll draw it or not.

Either way, the con was awesome. Met some of the regulars, met one or two new folks, hit up a couple of panels, had my existence denied, ate at a Jack In The Box and regretted it, got a friggin beautiful picture of captain Hex Vass and another awesometastic Kitsumi Badge, attended an ice-cream social and left quite quickly, enjoyed the fantastic fursuit parade, stomped around like I'm special-with-a-capital-R on the Saturday Dance (Friggin awesome set,
Akonite), slept on a cot, drew in my space-less sketchbook, and got myself talking with 
mongoose_ink about a tentative commission for a picture of Hex Vass riding a rocket-propelled grizzly bear (on fire) fly-by punching a Tyrannosaurus-Rex in the face.
Probably missed a few things, but all in all it was funtastic. Now my back hurts and I need sleep. See ya all next year!

The Day That Didn't Happen.
General | Posted 14 years agoYou guys ever have days where you wake up and suddenly it's time to go to sleep again?
I had a full day. I woke up tired as all hell, went to work, did some work, came home, played some games, went on a walk, played some more games, and now I'm here. Yet all that feels like a distant memory rather than a recent occurrence. Despite everything I did today, I feel like nothing happened at all. Like all I did was shuffle out of bed, hop on the computer, imagine a day full of activities then decided I needed to go back to sleep. The best I can describe this is that the day simply just didn't happen.
Augh, now things feel kinda surreal and wiggy. Tell you what, I'm gonna go make this day officially not exist by going to sleep. I'll wake up, and suddenly: Monday. The real Monday. Right?
Anyways, night everybody! Sleep tight!
PS: Just tossed together a rough design for the mascot character of my comic. I'll show it off once we've decided on a final design, then perhaps open up for a few commissions if anybody would be interested ^.^

Okay, here's the deal. I'm trying to get as good at art as I can as fast as I can. What I need is practice. Lots of practice. I've gotten pretty good at sketching out Hex (and I think I've gotten my own style going to, so that's epic), but that only means I'm good at drawing Hex and/or Hares. I need to practice on more!
How am I getting better? I draw on $600,000 pieces of government paper. Financing statements baby! Never leave a bored office furry to his own devices! So having more subjects to practice with would be absolutely fantastic.
What I propose is drawing your characters completely free of charge in order to help build my art skills. I can't promise they'll be good or anything truly spectacular, and you'll probably mostly only get several several SEVERAL head shots, but I need to practice anyways.
Also you will not get any of the $600,000 government financing statement furry arts. That would get me fired... and arrested. You'll just get what I do in my sketchbook.
So please, link me to a ref sheet of your chars in the comment box so I can save them and toss them onto a mobile device with the intention of practicing the hell out of drawing them! You will see what I draw :3

General | Posted 14 years agoY'know... first off, Fuck you Mexico for inventing poisonous burritos. Okay, fine, sure, maybe you didn't intend for them to be poisonous. OKAY. FINE. MAYBE IT WASN'T A MEXICAN WHO MADE THAT BURRITO. Well in that case, then fuck you fast-food taco joints.
Actually, come to think of it... burritos are pretty taste-tastic... UGH FINE MEXICO! I WITHDRAW MY INITIAL COMMENT! HAPPY NAO?!?!
Anywho, the point being is that that bloody burrito cost me my last sick day and LO AND BEHOLD! I'm sick. The friggin cold... IN SUMMER! IRONY! HAHA! Got no choice BUT to sit through the eight hours of office feeling like I'm half-way to dead. Ever wondered what it feels like to be a zombie? Catch the cold, then sit in a cubicle for eight hours, receive no work all day, then watch... the... clock... It sucks.
Anyways... moral of this story: Don't catch the cold, don't eat poisonous burritos.

Anywho, the point being is that that bloody burrito cost me my last sick day and LO AND BEHOLD! I'm sick. The friggin cold... IN SUMMER! IRONY! HAHA! Got no choice BUT to sit through the eight hours of office feeling like I'm half-way to dead. Ever wondered what it feels like to be a zombie? Catch the cold, then sit in a cubicle for eight hours, receive no work all day, then watch... the... clock... It sucks.
Anyways... moral of this story: Don't catch the cold, don't eat poisonous burritos.

I loved APB, and was so heart-broken when it got shut down. That was a fun freakin game! D=
Problem was that I made a character that I didn't enjoy seeing die. And I died a lot. So I got butt-hurt about it. Well now I'm going to make a stupid character that I don't mind seeing die. And I'm going to do stupid things. It's gonna be awesome! He is going to be the most typical 80s cop-action movie character I can imagine.
Point of this journal? JOIN ME! GAME IS FUN AND YOU WILL PLAY WITH ME!

Love Disc World. Fantastic series. Mixes fantastic humour and mocks logic while sharing lessons of human morality in ways one could never learn otherwise. I strongly recommend this series to EVERYBODY!

For something that seems so super-natural and supposedly a remarkably rare gift, it sure seems to be very common in the spousal department =\ Given, it's not like I've heard it a bazillion times in my life, but I've heard "My <insert spouse here> is psychic and can <insert sick-nasty psychic talent here>!" enough times in such a short time-span that it seems waaaay too common.
...That being said... WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU PEOPLE MEETING THIS APPARENTLY AVAILABLE PSYCHIC LOVE MACHINES?! Seriously! I want one! She could make me a sandwich via telekinesis! Doesn't even have to leave the kitchen to deliver it to me! =D Right!?

General | Posted 14 years agoOkay. I give up. Failing miserably here. Trying to name vehicles for a secret pet project. Can't think of a viable naming convention for them (ie: Naming them after Norse gods, mythological weapons, Native American creatures, etc)

I've got a great idea, but it requires hand puppets. Yes. Hand puppets. The ones where you stick your hand in through the bottom and control the arms and head with your fingers.
Problem: No idea who makes (or would make) hand puppets. But I need them. Several of them.
