So i'll be visiting Ottawa for the first time this Tuesday :). I'm staying for one night and coming back the next morning by train to Montreal. Does anyone have suggestions of things to do? I've never been there before so I don't know my way around.

Small anniversaries are a nice thing to celebrate when other things are not entirely going well. Well two years ago to this date HF started to take shape. This work would eventually lead up to the fursuit which takes up most of the space on this page and which definitely changed my life.

This is also when I first signed up on Furaffinity. It has been a pleasure knowing all of you guys *hug*

Also strangely enough, I seem to often do big things on November 4ths. Nine year ago to this day was when I started a forum which also shaped my life in so many awesome ways.

We are organizing a bowling meet in Lasalle on Saturday the 5th. This will be a fursuit friendly meet and I have gotten the permission from the bowling alley to do so. Anyone is invited to come, but please confirm your presence so that I know how many people are coming :)

It's 3.99$ per game or 8.86$ for three games. The shoe rental is 1.80$. Taxes are not included

It is easily accessible from the Angrignon metro station with the 113. For those that want to take the bus together arrive at the metro station around 16:40 and we could take the furry bus :p

Nous organision un bowling meet a Lasalle Samedi le 5 Janvier. Ceci sera un fursuit friendly meet et j'ai obtenue la permission de alley de bowling pour que nous pouvons les porter. Tout le monde est inviter, mais veuiller confirmer pour que je s'ait le nombre a attendre :)

C'est 3.99$ pour une partie ou 8.86$ pour trois. La location des soulier est de 1.80$. Les taxes sont en su.

The fursuit is in the car and I hopefully did not leave anything at the gig I had yesterday. The grey fox will be there

I might fursuit today, but if it's not the case I am sure that it will happen tomorrow. Hf as undergone quite a few changes since it's last public appearance at AC. Some of them are extremely visible and sharp (claws!!!!) and some other ones which are not as visible. New pictures should be available in the next couple of days.

To put it in words, there was just not enough time, but heck it was alot of fun. There were many panels and event that I would have liked to go and see, but this is what happens when you have time conflict between them.

First of all this was my vey first AC and it will probably not be my last one. The city of Pittsburgh is really beautiful and nothing is able to beat it's first glance once you cross the hills that surround it. I wished that I could have had a bit of time to visit it, but who as the time with the pack schedule which we had at our disposal :p . Something must be said about it's people as well. On the day that I wore the full body suit I was stopped by a couple next to the hotel for a picture. Once this was done they were thanking me and probably all the other furries for coming to Pittsburgh. Although I did not hear that again I could see it in the faces of all of the residents who would ask for pictures.

Another discovry that I had was the realisation of the number of furry amateur radio operator that were present at AC and in the fandom as a whole. While I was well aware that there were some, I didn't think that there were that many. You might have seen me walking around with my radio which I was always carrying in my backpack even in suit. To all the furry hams that I have met or talked to it was a pleasure. There were many more of you that I heard on the repeater, but things did not worked out. 73 to all of you.

Has the builder of my fursuit I have always been quite judgmental in it's regard, but AC as allowed me to relax my stance on it. Due to the number of possitive comments that I have received in it's regard I should not be so tought on myself. There are problems with it and these should be addressed in the new head which I have been working on. I was physically tired from all the fursuiting during AC, but it was a pleasure. From the members of the convention to families on the street, the smiles which we brought was the best reward ever. As a mascot performer on the side that was especially true with all the families that were coming to see the fursuits. While some people might oppose or have reservations to their attendance I believe that this is probably one of the best ways that the furry image will evolve and change from what it used to be.

I don't know yet if I will be at AC 2013, but you can bet that I will give it my best to try and be there. It's also been 12 years since I have been in the US for independance day.

When I first started to build my fursuit in November I really did not know where it would take me. This was also my introduction to the furry community, which I learned of about exactly one year ago. I never thought at that time that I would have participated in it, but now that I have for a couple of months I am definitely pleased with my decision. I have found a place where I can be myself.

To all those that I have meet I am grateful to have done so. I even know now that I am not the only one that likes the kind of music that I listen to. Well there was someone that I had known for a long time who also listened to similar genres, but it turned out that he was a furry as well so that does not really count. Well not everyone listens to the same things (i.e. trip back from quebec city), but it sure does for a fun mix :)

My first experience suiting in December was not even in my own suit, but that of my employer a summer camp and pool management organisation. If you were to look in my gallery I have a picture of that mascot, a big bright yellow sun in shorts. This allowed me to take pointers and get some practice for when I did get Hf done two months later. They, my boss and my other colleagues who had tried suiting in it were let's say impress of my performance. As a result of this initial time I had a second chance to animate in that character over the Easter break. In the end I am now the official performer for this character. I never expected this to occur when I given the privilege to wear him the first time 5 months ago :) .

As for Hf Greyfox, he has now come along and made a total of 4 appearances since it's conception at different meets. I still have some work to do on it and I am learning as I go along. It is a continued cycle of improvements which would have never occurred if I had never started. For sure that I have no more room in the closet, faux fur fibers are everywhere, but it sure makes for a fun ride.

Many things have been happening since my last submission and journal. First of the semester is almost over which will mean 2 weeks where I will be able to work on non academic related projects. Got a long list of things to complete, but most of them are related to the suit to some extent.

Secondly I was asked by my seasonal employer if I would be interested to volunteer for a Christmas parade. It would have been hard to refuse being how much I love working with the team, but when he said that they needed people to fill mascot suits I was sold. Will try to take a picture of that. I don't know how they look like, but it should be interesting. Sorry HF, I would have much preferred going out with you, but since you are still only made of foam you would have scared the kids.

The simplicity 2853 pattern I ordered last week has just arrived in the mail. Just need to refine some of my drawings and go faux fur hunting in the stores. I'll maybe get lucky. HF is a grey fox, but is markings are still not set in stone. Not sure yet if he will retain that name, he might want to go with something better.

I don't expect to be able to finish all the work over this time period, but there will probably be a new fursuiter in the Montreal region by the end of January. It really gets into you. I always think I've been a expressive person in terms of movements and gestures, but ever since I started to work on this project they seem to have increased in size.

When you meet someone you have to get to know him or her. This is not always the case, but if that person is a coworker, cousin, inlaws or someone you want to become friends with it does help out in the long run.

This is how working on a fursuit head feels like, at least for me. You might be the one that is building it, but it will never behave completely the way you intended it to. My head is not completed yet, at this moment I still need to complete foaming it, but the plastic canvas structure is finished.

At first when the head was only a couple of pieces of canvas it was easy to put it on and take it off, but has the structure became complete it changed. Things became complicated and painful at times. This is why you should let the hot glue cool before putting it on. It could have some negative effects to your hair or you might become part of the head if you are really unlucky. For reference I never got stuck, only got a bit of glue in my hair. If you take the time to understand it things do become better.

Well my story is not done yet since I have many more steps to go, but I have learned to respect what I have so far. This makes testing much easier and allowed me to find ways of putting it on and off that were better for it and me. Will have to keep this in mind has I go on.
