Happy New Year 2017
Posted 9 years agoI wish everyone a happy New Year. Hopefully this year will be filled with peace, joy, and happiness for every one.
I don't get on a post much any more. But I still like to see the artwork and read the stories of the friends that I still do have on FA. I hope to dabble a little more in art this year as well as finish maybe one ore two personal fursuit/craft projects.
Best of luck to every one :)

Happy New Year
Posted 11 years agoHappy New Year!
I hope everone has some great plans and goals for 2015. As for me, my goals are to read more, draw more, spend more quality time with my mate, and get back into fursuiting/fursuit construction. I got some great projects that I would like to work on, my big challenge is that I have no room to work on them. Hopefully that will also change in 2015. Best of luck to all of you on your goals and aspirations this year as well :)

For those of you who love foxes . . .
Posted 11 years agoI saw this today. Some of these are really cute and these foxes obviously have some personality.

Happy Thanksgiving
Posted 12 years agoWishing everyone a happy and enjoyable Thanksgiving. I will attending Thanksgiving dinner with my in-laws. No shopping for me this weekend. Have a great day.
Life Updates and Big Changes
Posted 12 years agoFirst, I wish everyone a happy summer. I hope you are enjoying warm weather and pleasant days.
Next, I have not been involved in the fandom much for a while, nor do I anticipate much involvement in the near future. I sold my home and will be moving in two weeks. My job as a senior scientist ends next week, which is bittersweet for me and those I work with. I am moving to the Uintah Basin area of Utah to work the family farm and help take care of my ailing mother. My dad's passing last October continues to be rough on her and she needs extra support.
Long term I will still check in once in a while. I will be also starting my own business and hope to use my fursuits as company mascots, so the bunnies will still get out:). I still have aspirations to make fursuits of my fursona and a reindeer, but we will see how it goes.
Take care everyone and God bless!

Happy Spring Time
Posted 12 years agoI hadn't written since December, but want to wish everyone a happy springtime! We still have a foot of snow on the ground in Wisconsin (and it was 2 degrees this morning when I woke up) but the days are getting longer and the weather will be warming soon.
I suited for the first time in months for a charity event today. It was fun and we raised a lot of money for charity. I am still in the process of moving and am trying to sell my house. Until that happens, I will be quiet around here.
Happy Spring Everyone

Happy Halloween and Life Updates!
Posted 13 years agoA quick life update. Life was rough the past little while. I had surgery about a month ago and am slowly getting better. Not feeling well gets old in a hurry. Today was the first day since the surgery that I took my normal walk during my lunch break (about two miles around the park). So that is good.
I haven't been online very much the past couple of weeks nor do I plan to be online too much over the next little while. My father was killed in a tragic farm related accident a couple weeks ago. I am still trying to figure things out, along with my brothers, on how to settle the estate and carry on with at least some of his farming activities. Mom is doing OK, but will need lots of support . At 61 years old, he still had lots to do in life.
Because of all of the recent medical and travel expenses, I will not be going to MFF. I canceled my hotel reservation today, so sorry I won't be around for fun and fursuit pictures. But I do plan to get active again making fursuits this winter. Hopefully three or four new suits over the next six to eight months. During that time I might part with one or two of my current suits but I haven't decided yet for sure.
I hope everyone has a fun and safe Halloween this week. Hopefully I will see lots of great costume pics on here during the next week. Have a great time everyone!

Happy Autumn 2012
Posted 13 years agoIt's been several months since I last wrote. Life is going great, for the most part. Home life is great and both my mate and I are doing well and are happy. We got to do some camping this summer and even got do do a little fishing, which is something I enjoy but don't get to do very often. Work is going well too.
On the furry front, I struggled for quite some time with artistic inspiration and motivation. I very much enjoy building and working on fursuits, but I just have not had the creative moods I need to do that. I finally got going on a project a few weeks ago and it is going well. Originally I was hoping to have it done by Halloween, but that isn't going to happen. Thats OK, though.
Right now I am recovering from minor surgery. I don't want to go into that except that I will have to take it easy for the next six weeks or so. I won't be doing much of anything during that time. Fursuiting will be limited this fall, which iss a bummer because fall is a great time to get out. I am hoping that I can at least suit during Trick or Treating next month. All I have to do there is sit in a chair and hand out candy.
I hope everyone is enjoying the autumn season. Best wishes to everyone!

Happy Summer Solstice!
Posted 13 years agoToday, June 20th, is the summer solstice and the longest "day" of the year. This year in Wisconsin, it seems like summer started a month ago. Its been very warm and dry here, which is somewhat unusual. Hopefully the weather is pleasant where you are.
Unfortunately I don't have much to post here. I have been lacking inspiration and creativity as of late. I have two started yet unfinished fursuit projects in the basement that I need to work on some more. Summer is just so busy. I am hoping to get out the Wacom and draw a little bit this week, so we will see how that goes.
Hope everyone is having a great summer. Enjoy the warm weather :)

Happy Easter
Posted 13 years agoI am wishing everyone a happy Easter tomorrow. For me, its an opportunity to reflect on my faith and belief in Jesus. For all of those reading this that also have faith in Jesus, I hope you take the time to do the same. Aside from the religious side of Easter, I do enjoy the whole rabbit-bunny-spring-chocolate-egg thing this time year. Chocolate eggs and bunnies are delicious!
I was hoping to do some suiting in Scraps for Easter, but that unfortunately will have to wait for another day. Right after church tomorrow, I am driving to Chicago to get on a plane for Switzerland. I am attending a week-long conference in Zurich on food texture and rheology. This will be my first trip to Europe and I am looking forward to it. I won't have much time, however, to do much site seeing or other touristy things.
In other news, I will be posting pictures of a new fursuit (well at least new to me) in the next couple weeks. It should be coming home in the next week or so. I am also getting slowly back into drawing and also fursuit making. I have just been so busy lately its been a struggle.
Hoppy Easter Everybunny!

How I Hate Being Sick
Posted 14 years agoI have been sick more in the last couple months than I have been in years. I went to the doctors twice in the last week for illness whereas I hadn't been for anything other than a checkup in probably 10 years. Right now I am suffering from an ear infection, which was the byproduct of a cold that drug on for several weeks. Now that I am on antibiotics, it should be over soon.
I haven't done much in terms of fursuit work in a couple months. There are several personal projects that are half finished on my work table downstairs. Its been difficult to find time to work on those and when I do have time I haven't felt up to it. I just got some new furs, however, so I am hoping that in the next few weeks I will have the chance to fur some of those projects.
I have been buying up a little art here and there. I got my Bridger plush and gift badge from
KazulGFox over Christmas as well as some icons from
RainArtsInk and
lennymutt. I just purchased some art from
Ellen-Natalie from her web comic Furry Experience. I really enjoy reading it. It reminds me of my college days in Provo. I also bought a nice print online and am having it framed of a whimsical raccoon.
Well I hope everyone is doing well. Thanks for reading.

Happy Thanksgiving
Posted 14 years agoI would like to wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving. May you take time to reflect on all of the things the Lord has blessed you with!
As for me, life has been quite a ride recently. My sweet wife and I went through a little rough patch a while ago. Every so often I believe all of us neglect our relationships a bit, and we just needed some time to remind ourselves of how much we love and care for each other. That takes lots of time, patience, understanding, and communication. Things are much better now.
I also didn't go to MFF like I planned. I was disappointed at first. Instead, my wife and I went to see the touring production of Les Miserables at the Fox Cities PAC. While I was familiar with the music of the play, I never saw it. I splurged and got great seats down in the orchestra. The play is so inspirational! If you haven't seen a production I would highly recommend it. I want to read the novel now to better understand the themes and messages Victor Hugo portrays. I am so glad I went.
In terms of what I have going on, my involvement in the furry fandom is going to take a back seat for a while. I am spending less time online but will still be checking in once in a while. There are a couple costumes in the works right now, but I will work on them as I have time. I decided I can't be constrained to timelines so I won't be doing much commission work any time soon.
Again, Happy Thanksgiving and may God bless each of you in this upcoming holiday season!

Updated Website
Posted 14 years agoJust for those who might be interested, I updated my website with a few more pictures of the red canine fursuit I just finished. I mailed it off today, so hopefully the buyer will be happy
https://sites.google.com/site/kaibabcostumes/
Will be working on a personal project over the next few weeks, and then start on a new head commission. More on that in a few weeks :)

Lots going on?
Posted 14 years agoJust a quick update. Hopefully I will have some art and fursuit projects poster here soon. I spent three days in Chicago last week attending a conference so I had time to do a lot of drawing during boring presentations. There was a big mix of things I drew, including a few fan art pics and some feral pictures of Nyquil and Bridger.
I haven't had much time to do fursuit projects, but I should have a couple new ones completed by the end of October. So when those get done i will be posting them.
I usually have several good opportunities to suit during the fall months, so hopefully posting some suiting pics too.

MFF?
Posted 14 years agoI have spent most of the past two weeks traveling around the region. Most recently I was in Rosemont IL for a conference at the Hyatt hotel. I had been there before, but never for a meeting or anything. Anyway, it looks like a nice venue for Midwest FurFest. It got my thinking that maybe I will actually try to make it down this year. I have made plans (including hotel reservations) a couple of times before, but have never actually made it. Not being a regular con goer, maybe it would be nice for a change.

Out of Town-Wind River Backpacking Trip
Posted 14 years agoI have been out of town and largely without internet for the past week and a half. I went out to Utah and Wyoming to visit family and go backpacking with my brother and dad. There was some family drama, but everything worked out in the end.
I backpacked 4 days in the Wind River mountains near Lander, WY. I had never been there and had a good time. There was still tons of snow at the higher elevations and many of the lakes we tried to fish were still frozen over. My brother has some pics that I will borrow and put over at my Livejournal account.
I am back now and should be generally around. Lots to catch up on.

Busy Times, Fursuit Updates
Posted 14 years agoI was off line for a few weeks while I caught up on some things. In the past couple weeks I have had plenty of time to work on side projects. I redid the digitrade padding in Nyquil, so now it is all attached to compression pants. I also added more padding in the rear to fill out his back end a bit more. To get ready for a fursuiting outing this weekend, I made a couple more 70s themed bandanas for Nyquil as well.
Been busy with other fursuit projects also. I tried my hand at sock paws, and they turned out OK. I will post them here maybe next week. They will be used for a partial costume I am about half done with (just got the head left to do).
Will be around for the next week or so before I will be traveling again. During that time I will mostly off line.
