trying to think of some food themed mild peril/bondage i could do for Velvet Royal like my recent Hazelnut Swirl drawing (https://www.furaffinity.net/view/62176710/ ) but i’m drawing mostly blanks rn 🤔 i primarily base their world vibes off of 2003 Strawberry Shortcake which means it’s quite flexible in terms of like. food themed locations, but i’m really just feeling uncreative at the moment. the only vague idea i have atm is maybe like strawberry laces vines/underbrush or something, but i’m not sold on it, especially since his design is primarily red, so i’m wondering if anyone else might have any ideas/suggestions? if you do then pls. help 🤲

This is just for a little while, but I'm closing my commissions! Not sure how long it'll be for yet -- I'm just struggling to get through my current commission load, and I don't want to be promising anything more when I'm not sure how long they'll take to actually get done. I want to give myself a little bit of a buffer for when the comms are done so that I can work on my own art for a bit.

Just got curious about this and wanted to ask ye following me on FA: what, if anything, do you recognise as a trait of my art style? Colouring, lineart, sketching, shapes, anatomy, themes (beyond just like. what kinks i draw i guess bc duh) — anything that you see that would make you go “oh, that’s Dan’s style”, if anything?

I’m also curious to see if the answer differs between here and Tumblr once i post the question there 🤔

Hii people, I wanted to give an update on my commissions status at the moment.

I'm going to be taking a bit of a step back from them, at least in the way that I have done them up until now. I recently managed to secure a jobseeker's payment, which is a massive relief and a comfort for me, knowing that I can save for things like my driving lessons without worrying where the next payment is coming from. In my pretty much constant work on commissions this year, I heavily neglected my own art, and was dipping dangerously close to an unhealthy work-life balance (seeing as my life was just. Work on commissions. Sit around. Work on commissions. Go to the shop. Work on commissions.) I need rest, for my own well-being.

As such, I'm going to be moving away from my current waitlist system and into something much looser. I'll have details up at some point once I get it figured out, but I'll be working on commissions as they interest me, rather than first-come-first-serve. I'll probably do like. A Google Form thing, but I have to figure out how to make that actually send me updates, since they haven't in the past 🙄 I'll also more than likely be heavily favouring SFW commissions too, since my horny art motivation comes and goes in waves lol.

So yeah, that's the deal. Not closed, just done on my terms. I'll make another post once I figure out what I'm doing with regards to sending in commission requests. Many thanks to everyone who has commissioned me up to this point :)

to people who are still waiting for art or updates from me, i apologise — i took my few days rest as planned, but as soon as i tried to get back to work yesterday, i started feeling unwell and i’ve been struggling to get work done 😖 i’ve tried powering through, but i know what my mental state is like during this time of the month. trying to force it only ends up, 1: making me upset and frustrated, and 2: making low quality art, and i’m not about to hand off sloppy work to people who have paid me, so it’ll be a few more days until i can get out proper progress updates to you guys. sorry again, and thank you for your patience!

Hiii, so a quick update on the random chance commissions, there's a handful more people who commented their interest on the post, but I'll probably only have time for one more before I head to Portugal on the 9th, so the remaining people I will get to when I get home if you guys are still interested :) Really glad to see the enthusiasm for these comms !! I'm having a lot of fun with them given the freedom they allow me, and I get through them much quicker without having to run constant updates or thumbnails and reworks past commissioners, so win-win. I'll probably do them again in future -- maybe coming up to Christmas? :0 we'll see!

Heyy just wanted to say to people waiting on a random choice commissions from me, I had intended to get more work done this week but I'm having Bad Brain Times 🥴 I have the sketches done for all commissions though and I am currently working my way through the refined sketches, hoping to get them finished in one big burst on a good day. Just have to see how it goes, the weather suddenly changed here so I'm completely off my game with regards to mood 😭 Either way, I intend to have them done before I go on holidays ! And then we'll see about the last batch once I get back, then it's back to our usually scheduled commission waitlist :)

Last journal I'll make about this, I swear! Usually I wouldn't put this much focus on a set of commissions but I'm really excited for these, and it's awesome to see the enthusiasm from other people about them :D

I just wanted to put it out there beforehand that I'm gonna be making the official post and opening slots on Monday evening -- I INTEND to post about 5pm GMT, but if it's an hour or so later... I probably fell asleep. Whoops lol. It'll be no earlier than that though -- I want to make sure that people who were already interested in them have a chance to grab a slot.

WOW okay, the support for the random chance/wheel spin commission idea was really great to see, so I’m definitely going to go ahead with them early/mid next week :) Before that though, I need to make sure that it’s all ready to go and get up and running, so I had a couple things I wanted to iron out first!

First thing is, potentially conflicting choices. It’s hard to fill out the wheel with choices that make sense for every scenario presented, and some of the choices will overwrite each other (say, landing on both milking and chastity; whichever landed first would be picked). I wanted to add “vibrators” to the kinks wheel, but then that leaves the possibility of, say, “stuck in spiderweb” or “plant bondage” + “vibrator”, which doesn’t make a whole lot of sense, but it would be a good fit for something more grounded like say “mummification” or “locked in a closet.” I also don’t want to overthink things, which I’m very prone to doing grhdhg— I just want to hear yere thoughts on the best course of action for that.

1. Just smash the prompts together, whether they ‘make sense’ or not — go wild and make it work the best I can.
2. Limit prompts on the wheel to those which can work for any generic scenario.
3. Leave it up to my discretion whether the prompts go together or not.

(A sort of point 1.5 question: at the moment I’ve removed “all the way through” from the kink wheel, given that it’s a more extreme theme than a lot of people are into. Should I keep it, but offer it as a ‘free veto’ on top of the 3 already given, like I have with “slugs” on the scenario wheel?)

Second thing then is, I’ve filled out the wheels as well as I can according to my most common things to draw and stuff I might like to try out, but I want to know if there’s maybe any blind spots that I’m overlooking, kinks or general themes/scenarios that could or should be added to the wheels. This isn’t a guarantee that all or any suggestions will go on the wheels — I want to make sure that they’re not too bloated, so that people can still reasonably tailor them to their comfort using the vetos, but also that they’re still all prompts that I’m interested in drawing, so things I may have drawn before are preferred — but I just want to ensure that I’ve offered as much variety within my particular wheelhouse as I can.

SORRY for the spam on this stuff I’m just trying to think so I’m ready for when I come back to commissions 😭 but I had another idea for a potential set of comms!

So very recently I made myself some random choice wheels, one filled with themes/loose scenarios, and the other filled with kinks to inform the scenario, to force myself to break the choice paralysis and possibly combine things I wouldn’t have before. What would people think of random choice commissions ?? :0 I think they could be fun !

I’m thinking the way they would work is: fixed price for a full body (and maybe half body?) full colour commission — probably €35 for a half body, €50 for full? Commissioners have the option to veto up to 2 choices that they don’t want on each wheel if they choose to do so. Commissioners will also pick a number between 1 and 3 for how many times they want the ‘kink’ wheel spun. Both wheels are spun, and the scenario is decided. Commissioners can either choose to know the scenario — in case they want to choose a particular character, or just for curiosity’s sake — or it can be kept secret until the commission is finished.

idk I just think it could be a fun idea! I know choice paralysis can hit not just artists but commissioners too lol, so it could be a fun option for people who don’t really know what they want.

I’ve made a couple of adapted wheels for people to check out — these are based on my own wheels, but have a couple more ideas than them since I want to give commissioners a little bit more variety where I can. The contents might be tweaked slightly in the meantime, but if you’d like to get an idea of what’s on offer, then check them out!

So as I said recently, I’m taking a brief break from commissions — just a week or so. I’ve been working pretty non-stop since I finished my exams so I want to take a chance to breathe, work on my own art, and do studies.

That said, I’ve been thinking about maybe a YCH or two when I get back? And I just wanted to open it up to others for particular themes or scenarios ye might like :0 !

Alternatively, if there’s not much feedback from ye, I might maybe generate some ideas with these two random choice wheels I filled out with scenarios and kinks. I originally made them to help me come up with ideas for bunny drawing practice, but I’m realising now it might also be helpful for stuff like this too :D Anyway, yeah, that’s pretty much it from me. Let me know what ye think if ye have any ideas!
