My tablet...oh my god. I want to smash it. It's been having problems for these past few months but recently, I spend 90% of the time waiting for my tablet to stop spazzing out so I can draw a single line. Things that should take me ten minutes take me literally hours. It's ridiculous, I can't work with it any more. I made some nice adoptables to help be buy a new one.(It took days just to do the lineart, it's so sad hahaha.) Sorry for spamming journals this week. :)
My tablet is on it's last leg, and I'm making some pretty sweet adoptables to help pay for a new one, so I need some inspiring themes or color schemes to use.

Today I learned that a wolf's hind paws are 20% smaller than their front paws. This made me wonder what other things I didn't know that might effect my art.
Also lions and canines only have dewclaws on their front paws. (which is why i often draw my characters with five 'fingers' and four toes.)That probably applies to all animals with dewclaws, but I only know for sure about those two.

Does anyone else know any odd physical facts like that, or common misconceptions about animals?
This would probably help educate a lot of us.

The holidays have been busy. I hope everyone has been happy and safe this year. The world hasn't ended, and 2013 Is a few days away. This year was strange for me. I don't remember much of anything because my anxiety and post traumatic stress. This year has tested my mental limits. I feel like the worst is over, and I'll make next year a better and more productive one.
What are your hopes and plans for this next year?

Alright, I'm fed up with this dumb laptop! D:<
I have to restart it three and four times before I can properly use my tablet with it. And even then, the pen lags very frequently and It's very difficult to get anything done.
I ONLY use this laptop for art. No games, minimal internet(simple sites/forums/google images for reffs) and I'm even using a usb card as extra ram, but....it's just not working for me.

Since right now I really only use it for art and minimal internet, can anyone recommend any decent laptops for this? And sharing some experience with tablets would be helpful, too. I'm hesitant to get a tablet because It's been my experience that the pen lags slightly when It's being dragged across the screen, and I can't work with that.

My tablet is acting up so bad right now. -_____-
My new phone takes really nice quality pictures, and I feel like sketching, so link me your reffs.

Also I watched Prometheus again with my mom earlier and she got startled SO BAD at one point she slapped herself in the face. I'm still loling about it.

I always feel like my art is lacking. I mean I have a pretty good sense of anatomy/form but... My coloring is so blan, it never 'pops'. and I think there's something wrong with hands, because I can't do smooth lines for my LIFE unless I start with a big fat line and sorta carve out the shape I want it to be with the eraser. And I've always wanted to do beeaauuutifl scenery/backgrounds.

I need some good study material. Color depth/theory, deep shading, making things look more 3d instead of just being flat colored. Does anyone have any go-to guides for any of this?

October has been an eventful month for me. I went down to socal for a couple weeks to celebrate my birthday. I'm 20 now, and I feel like such a bum.
Anyways I got home yesterday, so I can get back to working on art and stuff. My cousin got her sewing machine out of storage, so I'll probably fiddle with tails and ears and maybe put a few up. AND I'm planning on applying for a volunteer position at the animal shelter, just to get out more. Life still has my brain fried.

How was your October?

My favorite thing to do when I'm up late and I'm not feeling like shit about my weight is to munch on some delicious cold pizza. It's a guilty pleasure.

Hehe, I'm so exited. I've been playing pokemon for years and years and years. I've played every game up to date, and I've never seen a natural shiny. Pokemon Silver was the first game I ever played, and my cousin is letting me play through her SoulSilver to get pokemon for my White version, and since it's so nostalgic, I decided to try soft resetting until I got a shiny starter.
I did this for three hours a day for seven days, and today I got a shiny Totodile.
I named him Chomper.<3

I'm trying to shrink a 250x500 image down by %50 (125x250), but the smaller image it turning out rather pixely. Is there a program I can pop the larger image into where I can shrink it down and maintain a nice resolution/ quality?(gimp's being poopy.) Or am I going to have to manually smooth out the pixels and redo the lines after it's shrunken

NOTE: The image I'm working with is a Psd file. I need to save the shrunken version as .png

I started a project yesterday; a photo a day and a drawing a day, and I'm gonna be uploading them to tumblr daily. I guess some of the good ones I'll upload to FA, but I don't have easy access to a scanner and I feel ghetto uploading a bunch of photos of drawings... I've been mainly doing traditional stuff lately.
