Posted 10 years agoi hit 500 watchers on the 2nd, hooray! thank you all for your support, i really appreciate it :3 i'm going to do something neat to celebrate, i think you guys will like it. though it might take me a few days because it's got multiple parts and it's pretty complex. but yeah, stay tuned for that :3
i'm also gonna post a batch of jingle bunny adopts later today, because what's easter without bunnies? speaking of which, happy easter to everyone who celebrates it! personally, i just like that all of the cute bunnies come out, and some of the best candy too.

also hello new watchers! i'm 2 watchers away from the big 500, i wonder if i can get them today? that'd be neat i think.
and just a reminder that the 'under the rainbow' kirin auction has about a day and a half left, and there's still no bids. i know i should've posted her a week earlier, but i tried to make it so that she'd work year-round, even though she was inspired by st.patty's day. it's also the only chance to get her; unlike many of the other kirin, she won't go for a flat price if she isn't bid on, i'll just keep her.

Posted 10 years agoi realized it's been a while since i've posted an update, and quite a bit has happened recently, so here's a new update journal.
most recently, i had three of my wisdom teeth pulled yesterday, so i'm feeling kind of eh today since eating (actually swallowing is the problem) is difficult. i also lost my source income last month, so commissions are all i've got now. consequently, commissions are open again! i'm working on a new price sheet, since the old one is horribly outdated and the temp one is bad and only meant to be temporary. i've also opened for chibi commissions, too! )the temp guide can be seen here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/15184450/ and the chibi prices are here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/15835113/ ) if you want something that isn't listed on those, feel free to ask! i just wanted to get them up quick, so i didn't add shading/backgrounds/etc.
looking ahead, in march i'm planning on doing the 30 day oc challenge with bunny, since i have a tendency to only draw her when i feel like making up new outfits that she wouldn't actually wear anyways. and i think some of the prompts are cool :3

Posted 10 years agoso, i saw this journal by sushi.suits the other day, and it really hit home. i can't even count the number of times that someone has said that they'd buy an adopt/commission me/etc., and then just disappeared. please, please don't do this. i was lucky enough that i was getting money for my basic living expenses for the past few months, but that's coming to an end soon, and once again commissions and adopts will be my only source of income. i'm perfectly fine if you want to discuss the possibility of a commission! but please don't say you're buying something if you're not. i've always had to count on commissions for any nice things i got (i.e. presents for friends, clothes that aren't falling apart, etc.), and it's really disappointing to think i might be able to get something soon and then not have it happen.
on a related note, to anyone who does commission me or buy my adopts, thank you very much! however, please make sure to send payments as services, rather than goods! if you're unsure of how to do this, i've made a walkthrough here that should help, or you can ask me. paypal can, has and will freeze accounts if too many 'goods' are never 'sent'. granted, i probably don't get near enough commissions for it to be a problem, but i also have notoriously bad luck, and i really don't want to push my chances. (also, sending it as goods takes a larger fee, which sucks as well.)

Posted 10 years agoyeah, i've got way too much stuff to do for christmas to have to worry about commissions too. also i'm really not happy with how the ych i just finished came out, so i want to work on some personal art and maybe hopefully remember how to draw before i take commissions again. sorry if someone actually somehow wanted one!commissions are open!

Posted 11 years agoright now i'm sitting here fuming about my family, so i figured i'd chuck a journal out there to maybe get in a better frame of mind. what are you thankful for? granted, i know that only the u.s. is celebrating thanksgiving today, but you don't have to eat turkey to reflect on what you're grateful for ;3
here's my little list of people and things i'm grateful for:
1) melangetic, who somehow still puts up with my near-constant ranting and doesn't hate me for it
2) my cats, who help keep me sane
3) all of you guys, who comment/fave/watch me/my stuff. it really means a lot to know that someone likes my art or the things i make.
4) my laptop and the internet, which keep me entertained, occasionally net me a bit of money, and enable me to draw decently.
5) having a roof over my head and food to eat, even if the house is broken and falling apart and the food isn't very healthy.
so that's my list. i guess that's all for now, i hope you guys all have a good day, and eat lots of turkey if you're celebrating thanksgiving :3new tumblr plus update and poll
Posted 11 years agoso i finally made a tumblr, because i really need to expand the sites i've got my art on and stuff. i'll probably post wips of things i'm working on and the like.
also, i probably won't be posting any art until after halloween, because i'm currently working on a huge sewing project that i'm hoping to get done by then. you can see a sneak peak of the design on my tumblr :3
on another note, what kind of adopts do you guys like to see (and possibly buy)? is there a specific species or base that i have that you really like, or a type of pattern that floats your boat? are you interested in or curious about the kristalandja and want me to hurry it up and make some already? are you sick of them altogether and wish i wouldn't post them so often? i'm just curious :3

Posted 11 years agoas of midnight tomorrow, my commissions will be closed for the foreseeable future. when i open them again, there will be significant changes to what i offer and my prices. i was just going to close them, but i figured i'd give a warning in case someone actually wanted a commission but had been waiting or something. i'll still be posting adoptables occasionally.

Posted 11 years agofigured i'd post an update, since the last journal was my laptop being dead. it went to fedex today to be shipped back to fujitsu so that they can fix it, so hopefully it'll be back soon and i can get back to drawing properly again!
on another note, expect some more kirins soon! i keep getting ideas for them, and since it had been a while without any, i figure i ought to make up for that :3 (plus they're funding the last pieces i need to get for my halloween costume soooo...)
oh, and i sketched out a profile of a male kristalandja while my mom was at the doctor's, so i'll upload that once i can get it scanned and maybe fix it up a bit. maybe that'll motivate me to do a ref for the males, too. then i'll just need to draw the variations and anomalies, and write out their info in an understandable manner. so there could be an update there soon, for anyone who may be interested in them.

Posted 11 years agoedit 3: found an old laptop that i'm using until i can get a new hard drive for my good one. (which will hopefully be soon)
edit 2: as of 8/24, the backup laptop is dead, too. back to the 3ds.
edit: got an old laptop working. still can't draw digitally, but at least i won't go insane C:
yeah, i managed to kill my laptop yet again. technology just hates me. so the only internet access i have right now is through my brother's 3ds, which i can't draw on. i'm going to try and do some traditional drawings, since i've really got nothing else to do now that my laptop's dead. if i make anything halfway decent, i'll try and get it scanned via my mom's computer.

Posted 11 years agofigured i'd try one of these again, and see if that'd help me get back into drawing. i haven't been drawing at all lately because the average temperature in my room is 90+ degrees, and it only goes down to about 86 at night. heat makes me incredibly sleepy, plus drawing is hard when my arm is sticking to my laptop. so anyways! ask any of my characters whatever you like! i will do my best to doodle a reply :3

Posted 11 years ago first off: my mom has this thing that she thinks she's going to get my art in a museum. obviously, that's not actually going to happen, but i figure i'll humor her so that she'll stop annoying me about it. however, some of the pictures she wants are past commissions. if you have commissioned me in the past and don't want your commission(s) used, then please state so here. all future ones will be subject to me using them to showcase my art; i'll add that to my tos tomorrow/today after i sleep.
other things: making a schedule of sorts, because obviously making myself draw every day burns me out quick and for way too long. (hence the almost non-existance of new stuff from me in the past month or two.) so here's how i'm gonna do it now:
monday-wednesday: owed art, commissions, adopts, etc. (anything i'm being/will hopefully be compensated for)
thursday: comic (some of you might remember that i tried to do one before; this is a reboot of that idea, since a lot of stuff happened that made working on ahfop depressing for me)
friday-saturday: free days (personal art, crafts, rolling around in the grass, sleeping all day...whatever.)
(for those thinking i deliberately set this up so i'd start on a free day [since that's what i'd think lmao], i actually set this up last sunday. but it's taken me until now to finish the honey bunnies. thanks life!)
and one other tidbit, finally got a microwave again yesterday! some of you might know that my family hasn't had one for a year or so now, and it's long since driven me nuts. but now we've got one again \o/
oh yeah, and i'm gonna try and post new kitten pics soon, too. just gotta jack my mom's camera so i can get them on my laptop :3

taking a break from my packing to write this, so that i don't end up forgetting in the morning when i'm done packing and exhausted. as of tomorrow, my mom and i will be homeless, and we still have no clue where we're going or what we're doing. which also means i have no clue when i'll have internet access/electricity after tomorrow morning. luckily, this is a tourist trap, so there are areas with free wifi; but depending on where we end up, i might not be able to get to them, if they're too far away. i just wanted to post a notice so that if anyone contacts me, they don't think i'm ignoring them. i'll do my best to check fa as often as i can, if i can at all. maybe if i'm lucky, this'll all be over in a couple of days and most of you won't even realize that i was gone ^.^

i finally finished that ych, and when i tried to upload it, fa's just like 'nope!'. when i clicked the 'browse' button to pick the file, it just...doesn't do anything. the edges of the page blip, but nothing else happens. is anyone else having issues? or is my computer/internet just doing something stupid?

streaming time (input wanted please!)
Posted 11 years agoi've been thinking about changing my streaming time for a while, but i'm not sure how people would react to that. the main reason being that, as any of my regulars surely know, i'm rarely able to actually start my stream at 7pm. so i was thinking i'd change the start time to 8 or 9 pm est. (and not tell my mom about it lol). but i'm wondering if that would be too late a start? after all, not everyone's a night owl like i am (/try to be, ugh sleep hates me so lately), plus i know that most of my regulars are in different timezones than i am. any input would be appreciated :3
on a similar note, i'm apparently still burned out from art, so i'm going to not stream for the next few days again, and concentrate on a personal project irl, one that i've been planning for...jeez, a year or two at least. i've finally got all of the materials gathered together, so i want to make it before i go and lose/misplace something again |3 so you guys should get to see the result of that relatively soon! also i haven't forgotten about kitten pictures! (or well, i kind of have, in that i keep forgetting to put them on my computer.)
oh yeah, i might have a movie stream or something while i work on my project. since i like watching stuff while i sew :3 right now i'm watching fma: brotherhood, though, and i don't want to start streaming it since i'm about 2/3 of the way through x3

Posted 11 years agoedit: back from the hospital now, that was definitely the shortest hospital trip ever for us. only three and a half hours, usually they take 2-3 times as long. anyways, my mom does have pneumonia, but they gave her a few different medications for it, and my mom had experience with the main one (she's had pneumonia multiple times before), and says she should be feeling better in about a week or so :3
sorry guys, i know i said yesterday that i was going to start back on the art streams today, but instead i'm going to the hospital with my mom because she thinks she has pneumonia. i'll probably work on some adopts while i'm there, though, because they usually have every site worth going to blocked because they're lame like that. so maybe finally art up tonight? if i don't have adopts to post, then i'll probably put together some of the kitten pictures to post, since i know there was requests for those and i just keep forgetting |3*insert lame excuse here*
Posted 11 years agoyeah, no stream tonight again, i'm sorry! it isn't even a good reason this time |3 but if any of your mess around on gaia, then you'll know that tonight's the last night of the easter event. and the items this year are so adorable i need them ;.; but i've only got 31 of the 250 necessary eggs so far, plus i still need to beat the last 6 levels of switch'em. and there's only about 8 hours left. i'm sorry i'm so horribly lame :c
on another note though, tomorrow's stream will be back to art streams! or, well, coloring at least. i'm going to make some adopts to try and sell, because my mom's cat is really worrying me, and i want to try and get enough money to bring her to the vet. and my adopts tend to sell much better than commissions, so adopts it is.
