rizzell here, giving you an update.....ummm, absolutely NOTHING >:( trying to get artwork done, but work always gets in the way. Now, as for Rain Furrest (and yes, a month late for the Report): All I can say is I had a blast and have run into several non furs within the fandom. My butt was a bit sore, but I shall not go into details. Con crud sucks, that is all.

Prometheus **** (Four Stars)
General | Posted 13 years ago First off, I must advise anyone who plans to see it, to really pay attention. Not only to the story and scenery, but also the mythology behind it. Prometheus is one of those movies that gives some answers, but also leaves it's intentions shrouded in mystery. Some fans were a bit upset because they feel they did not get the answers they wanted about the Xenomorphs and Space Jockeys, and upset about more details will being in the sequel. However, there is a directors cut that is actually 2 hours longer that should probably explain more.
I actually understood a lot of things and had an idea what was going on and what might happen next, and Prometheus is one of those movies that is more directed towards audience who would think twice than making a final verdict. Alien and Aliens, to be honest, did the same exact thing. It left some unanswered questions, but there was some payoff in the end to make you not really care. Prometheus, however, did not have much of a payoff. Like unfinished sex: You liked it, but you wanted more. Think of Prometheus as a pilot for a TV show, with so much crammed all in one with more to come in the next episode.
There was some nostalgia watching the film, it definitely had the same atmosphere as the first 2. The writing was a bit dense, nearly on the same level as Alien3, but not as corny. To be honest, I liked this way better than 3 and Resurrection. Not even going to bring up Alien Vs. Predator. That should have just stayed with the novels and games, for it's forgiving to make a what if story for those types of entertainment. AVP films pretty much altered everything, if not, Jeopardized the franchise. AVP should have happened AFTER Alien, not before. Prometheus was made to correct what others screwed up on with AVP by making it's own story, but also making a connection it to the original idea, not a fanboy's.
Now the characters were a bit underdeveloped, excluding David, Dr. Shaw and Captain Janek. We know that the others were pretty much thrown there to die like a bunch of Red Shirts from Star Trek. But so were other characters in the previous films, but at least some of them were memorable and even had their own agenda. Take Burke, for example, in Aliens. He seems good, but he is a backstabbing Corporate cocksucker who would have anyone killed for profit. Vickers in Prometheus is like Burke, but not as fierce and not too developed.
Dr Shaw is pretty much our Ellen Ripley. She is strong willed. David is an android with a mix between Ash and Bishop. creepy and yet, passive.
If you seen it, you are probably asking why the Jockeys created humans, then want to destroy them later.
I like to think the obvious answer to that is there are 2 factions. Like the one Engineer who made humans by sacrificing itself and it's DNA spreading out to make us who we are: Good Guy.
The other one in a bioengineering facility on LV_223 who has a ship full of genetic mutagen ooze that can kill us or mutate us into an abomination: Bad Guy.
That's what I liked about Prometheus, it did it's job in keeping us guessing and making us think about what will happen next, or make us wonder if we are correct what happens next. I will say, there is a chest-burster and Xenomorph, even a different kind of face-hugger, but not the kinds you expect. Personally, I liked Prometheus and am looking forward to the director's cut and sequel. I say go for it, just don't expect what you were wanting. It's not a Prequel to Alien, it's more of a rushed Origin story. but it's not as bad as AVP or the last 2 Alien movies. If the plot disappoints you, at least the atmosphere and elements is gives you satisfaction. But like I said, Look closely. Its one of those movies were the answers are there, but you gotta nitpick little pieces and put them together. All I can say is it is cliche, but in a familiar and creative way. You gotta realize, its a Sci-Fi movie. Sometimes, it's not suppose to make sense.

Same Owner, Different Name.
General | Posted 13 years ago Just to let you know,
humans is now owned by
rizzell as the account
hanzo is no longer being used. It is the same person, just a different name. My reason for changing my name? The name Hanzo is way too overused these days and a bunch of other things I rather not discuss. I will check my
hanzo account now and then, but
rizzell is my new account, with new art coming soon. So, no change in Management, only a makeover. You know, like how Puff Daddy became P. Diddy....or whatever he is now.
