A film so good I just couldn't resist writing about it. Don't worry, no spoilers follow! As with most people, I found out about the movie from all the hype it was getting from critics, with it sweeping the awards at the Golden Globes. However, the real interest came when the film's soundtrack was featured on Spotify. Just something about the music was so captivating, bringing you back to the Golden Age of Hollywood and stirring up memories of great Broadway musicals. With my mind set, I had to go and watch it as soon as possible (exam week did NOT help). But even a small taste of the soundtrack could not prepare me for what a wonder of human expression it turned out to be.

The opening sequence was undoubtedly a spectacle for the eyes, and with it being a musical sudden bursts into song were expected. In the first half we are exposed to the romance that forms between our protagonists as with any other film, but the way in which it is played out like a modern spin on old classics is incredibly well done. The style and setting of scene come from the past, but deliver a message that still engages and relates to what we experience as normal people. However, the true strength of the movie lies in the way it ties the conflicts between the main characters with the setting and music. The tunes you hear aren't just there to accompany the movie, but advance the plot in themselves. They are catchy - with reason. As the movie wraps up everything comes together, and the tunes play once again like a sudden flood of haunting nostalgia, leaving you awestruck and stuck with longing for more. Additionally, the casting could not get any better, with the chemistry between the leads building upon each other's strengths. Emma Stone especially stands out with how she is able to come up with the emotions on the fly and make full use of her arsenal of talents.

It is a testament to human nature - the hard-hitting reality of everyday life constantly jostling with our unrelenting desire to dream for something greater, whatever ambition it may be. It was definitely one of the best films I've ever watched, and I'd be surprised and incredibly disappointed if it didn't bag the Academy Award. It's the kind of movie that will resonate with you, leaving you thinking about 'what if?', humming the tunes and also struggling to keep the tears from pouring out. Don't miss out on it.

Just wanting to know what are everybody's plans for 2017! 2016 has been a year of highs and lows, some events of which we would prefer to shove under the carpet and try to forget about, but it's also a good time to reflect on what we'd like to change for the next year to make it a better one for everybody. Personally it's been a pretty meh year besides the fact that I've just started university in a new country, but I hope everyone's looking forward to 2017 as much as I am! Phew, that was one whirlwind of a December! Sorry all for the late holiday well wishes, but I hope everyone's still in the mood to kick off 2017 real soon with a bang! Had a really dodgy internet connection at all the places I stayed at during the vacation, so this is the first time I've been able to get some REAL internet... *fwoops and dances around in joy*

Ho ho ho and Merry Christmas! With the actual day just round the corner in less than two weeks' time, who else is feeling as pumped? Can't wait to really feel and spread the Christmas joy and spirit, especially for the first time so far away from home x3 Definitely had a taste of it already when my flatmates and I had our Secret Santa earlier this week ;P

So a quick heads up as well to go with the festive wishes! I'll be heading over to France from the 17th (yeah that's right, tomorrow!) to the 24th, so I might not be very active even on my IM platforms. Don't be afraid to send a note as I'll still try to reply within the same day~ Really looking forward to hitting the slopes and skiing down them. Seems like it's really been ages! After that plans are a little hazy so I'll just put up another post to see where we'll go from there.

Really struggling with some of the workload placed on me at the moment. Firstly, I've got a 2000 word essay due by the end of this week (seriously, why do engineering students have to write an essay about ethics in the first place???) which was handed out like a week ago. Problem is that I spent most the weekend out of town and therefore having been unproductive, squeezing every bit of work to be left for this week. Would love to chat on Skype at the moment, talk to me about anything you want, I'm up for it. A good boost of socialising would definitely improve my efficiency ;P

Woke up and read the notifications on my phone. "TRUMP WINS US PRESIDENCY." Oh well, this must be a nightmare. I should probably head back to sleep and things will be right. Wakes up and is late for early morning maths lecture. But it gets shittier. Mr. Trump is now really going to be Mr. Presdient.

That's what basically transpired this morning after the US electoral results came out. The put it bluntly, I was shocked. But if that's what the people of America want, that's what they'll get. There's no turning back now. On the upside, it once again causes the glaring faults and inconsistencies of the democratic system to become even more obvious, which hopefully will be acted upon (in the far-reaching future). Despite that, I can't help but feel gloomy about the current situation. With the Republican party controlling every important aspect of government (President, Senate and House of Representatives), their bills and ideals can easily pass through without any filter to control or oppose them. These are definitely dark times. God bless America.

Well it's been a week now since I've been there (finally managed to sum up my thoughts at this moment) and damn it was a blast! Met up with a whole bunch of high school friends and had the opportunity to sample a few tastes of home, so it was a bus ticket that was really well deserved. I only just found out that Comic Con was being organised on those dates just 2 days before my trip, hence my absence at the convention. I surely would have gone if I had known earlier!

And luckily I did not get that terrible tummy ache that I was anticipating two weeks ago! Rejoice for not going with norms and eating past the 'expiry date' xD

Huntinsnake here, hope you all are doing well! I may or may not have accidentally eaten spoilt food (tasted funky but looked alright and the expiry date was like 2 months into the future) so if I don't post anything in the next few days you guys have a rough idea what happened xD

Aside from the completely random crap above, I've had a discussion with friends lately about really emotional movies. I normally don't cry when watching such scenes, but sometimes it really does strike a nerve and the tear floodgates open. It happens with animated movies a little more for some strange reason though! Probably one of the most tear-jerking films I've ever had to go through were the first 2 minutes of Up >.< Thinking about it is already making me feel sad...

Ah damn, didn't get the chance to post this after the first week >.< Well, things have been a massive whirlwind ever since I've moved over to the UK, but things are kind of gradually settling down and following a set timetable. Really missing family, friends and food (yes FOOD) back home at times, but that's a regular student's life abroad that I've got no choice but to get used to.

Despite that, one massive plus point is that I now get to talk to most furry enthusiasts at more normal hours (unlike the unholy early morning ones back there x3) and I get to enjoy the cool weather! Oh, and plenty of partying definitely does help lighten the mood too~

A shout out as well to anyone in the path of Hurricane Michael to stay safe and hope for the best. All our prayers are there for you guys!

Looks like things are finally looking up to having me back on track on this website ^^ Managed to sort out most of the stuff that's required for me to leave this country and study over in the UK, and finally some free time off! Can't wait to actually be able to live in another part of the world. And another lame excuse for not being active online would be that I've been travelling around for a good bit of the past month, so it was only me with my phone and usually really poor internets. All that moving around does make you pretty tired after that too, unsurprisingly.

Oh wait. I'm already 19? That's a little too cray cray to be true as well! Time moves by so quickly. Thing is, I don't feel any more mature than when I was 16, honestly. Oh well, life goes on.

First up, I just want to admit to the fact that I haven't been very active on the site for the past year since things have been pretty bumpy at times. Yep, even though finals have been over for almost a month now, my schedule has been pretty packed with events and prep for leaving for university. But don't worry! I'll still be here, albeit with a less prominent presence and no posted art (unless I magically win a raffle ;P).

I knew I chose a naga just for the lusciously long coils, but up to then I've never actually thought that snakes were my favourite animals. Any highlights guys?

Just got to watch the film today through a chance series of events (mainly involving The Finest Hours not being able to fit within my schedule), but boy was I glad to have the opportunity to watch it.

It doesn't disappoint. Period. Starting this off, I'm really not saying that it's a good movie just because it involves anthropomorphic animals and I'm a furry. Gorgeous animation, memorable characters galore, and a never-ending flow of animal puns all contribute to making this one of the best animated movies I've watched; but what truly makes Zootopia special is its golden plot. The masterfully crafted story touches on pretty heavy issues that plague society, yet does it in such a way that is inoffensive and has an extremely wide appeal. A large list of problems ranging from prejudice, privilege, ambition and racism make themselves heard loud and clear. The fact the a family-oriented film tackles and resolves these themes successfully truly impresses me. Literature fanatics may agree or disagree with me on this, but I could see hints of Animal Farm, Robin Hood and War and Peace within it.

All in all, Zootopia is a definite must-see on everyone's list for the year. I hope you guys will enjoy it as much as I did!

(P.S. Please try not to apply Rule 34 of the internet to the two main characters x3 When you see them in action in the film I'm pretty sure you'd agree with me ;P)

Just a pick from the casual thoughts of a contemplating snake...

As I come from a region which isn't close to the major furry-centric populations of the Americas and Europe, talking and maintaining relationships can be rather troublesome at times. Introductory notes, shoutouts and comments obviously won't be much of a problem due to the large acceptable time range for the receiver to take to respond, but when real-time chatting and sharing images come into play difficulties arise. If any of you are in the midst of or have experienced such issues, what steps have you taken to deal with it?

Hello peeps!

It's been a while, yeah... And I know that it may sound like the same thing over and over again, but it still is. Had to go away for those 3 months due to work pressure and just wanted to take a long healthy break around the New Year to regain my focus and sort things out. It's now the final leg of the A-level college program for me, so there's more schoolwork to complete than there's ever been. That also means I won't be releasing any artwork until the end of May, which is when my exams will be over. However, I'll still try to pop by in once in a while to check out what's going on. Guuuyyyysss, so sorry to tell you all this but it looks like I'll be taking a month-long break from my furry sites (FurAffinity, DeviantArt and the latest addition SoFurry). I won't be completely gone and check in from time to time though, just not as frequently.
