Moving all my Personal AND Paid stuff to thepurplehusky - I'm officially promoted to store manager so I will not be doing too too much art anymore :C I still want to do commissions when I can and of course doodle stuff for fun and profit here 'n there but def doesn't warrant the separate accounts anymore and besides, I'd like to start fresh and tie in all my accounts under one username :3
I may still occasionally upload old stuff to my Archives account when I have the time.

Holy heck it's been forever since I did a journal entry here :o
Well, good news is I finally left the raging dumpster fire that is Hot Topic ^_^ Turned in my keys yesterday, not looking back, good luck to them, and hopefully the new people learn to swim quick! I've already been hired back at Gamestop and hopefully will be getting my own store in a few months Which is awesome cuz money and vidyagaems but will also put a damper on artworkings. Or maybe not since I won't be quite so fucking exhausted everyday after work? Clothing retail is no joke :V
But yesss... very happy and relieved!
So I have a few days here to work on art and CLEAN and rest and basically enjoy existing while I train up and re-flex my Gamestop management muscles and see where they want to place me. Again, so fucking happy to be back aaaaa
Also, I'm thinking of moving over to a new account thepurplehusky and just starting fresh - recombining personal and paid works and posting whatever I want whenever I get it done since it's been a quiet couple years and I'd like to try and art for myself more than just for profit. Its nice not having to stress over making a living from art even if it means not pumping it out so frequently

Hopefully a year I manage to drag myself out of retail and move on to better things. Maybe the year I finally move out of apartment living to someplace better. So I just started my new job as assistant manager at the local Hot Topic (I know, fulfilling my goth destiny. Clearly :P) and its truly been a trial by fire :|
Our store manager has been out sick for the past 4 days, there is ONE newly trained keyholder who is doing an AMAZING job stepping up to train me on the functions of the store, the previous ASM left 2 weeks ago and the other keyholder left abruptly about a week ago so its been kind of a shit show x.x I have these 2 days off this week to work my ass off on some art to sell because I still wont be seeing a paycheck for another 2 weeks and I'm trying not to panic :D In light of this new job which wil be taking up the majority of my time I am also closing my Patreon this month as well.
I have as much commission work as I can handle so my only income will be coming from storefront sales, both Etsy and Redbubble - any and all support is EXTREMELY appreciated I'm going to be listing a few more originals I was hoping not to have to part with so immediately but I have no other choice than to sell any artwork I can spare. Please take a look and share or buy if you can - this has been a really rough week so far and hopefully things come together, hopefully my manager gets well and isnt going to lose his job too and leave out store without leadership

On a positive note, I have completed driver's ed and will be taking my MVA roadtest next week for my driver's license finally! And hopefully once this job is really rolling I'll be able to afford to buy a car n.n Yay for adulting!

Oy finally getting back on track x.x
Had to take on a few new commissions, I'm going to do my best to blow through them quickly while I'm still awaiting transfer to my old store x.x I have the time for art right now and HOPEFULLY the distracting traumatic shit has ended for the moment and I can concentrate again on art.
I think I'm pretty well recovered from the grief of losing
silverwing or at least able to manage my emotions so I can be functional again. Its been one of the most challenging and painful things to happen in my life but I know it won't be the last :/ just my first chance to learn to cope with loss of one of my longest online friends.. I'll always miss my purple sister u.u
Ugh.. anyway, got to wrap this up because I have more things to update online then I have to get my brain back into art-mode to work.
Thanks to everyone who has been a listening ear, a shoulder to cry on, a supportive friend and a patient patron, you give me the inspiration to continue creating <3

Posted 9 years agoVery much feeling the exhaustion. Its been a nightmarishly hectic month and a half and I wish it would stop. Ive been trying to focus on my art work and get back into the swing of things but it is.. difficult. I'm trying, I really am.
I am still trying to recover financially as well and until I'm transferred to my previous store I have only been getting one or two days a week and could really really use some sales. I can't open for regular commissions until I catch up or refund what I already have on my plate :{

She was one of my oldest friends and one of the very first people to ever art trade with me when we were 14 or so. She was the kindest, sweetest person I ever had the pleasure of knowing. Her beautiful words and art will be a gaping void on this website and others. I am bereft and instead of attending 
faunited I will be at her funeral in NC with

ghostnoise, 
foreverchagrin, 
scriber and others..
I'm so sorry for the delays and neglect on my part. I ask for just a little more patience while I get my life back together.

I've been working on building a professional portfolio to apply to various studios - so furry art has been taking a backburner I'm afraid!
Once i have a collection I'm happy with, I'll be focusing back on my commissionwork and such. For now please bear with me and I'll be back soon!

I'm still playing catchup with my commission queue but I've also been picking my comicbook project back up again! I've got my first episode outline down and more will be coming soon :D Working with my buddy

So very sorry for my quietness lately! I've been working quite a lot at my dayjob and this is the most time off I've had since I got promoted x.X And I'm currently being snowed in by this wicked blizzard that's hitting the Washington DC area :S Supposed to accumulate up to 3 ft and won't be stopping til Sunday morning (when I'm supposed to go in again) - the public transit system closed earlier today and won't open again til possibly Tuesday so it's pretty severe :/ I'm hoping I don't lose power for an extended period of time but in case we do, I do have provisions to keep my family warm, fed and hydrated.
While I do have power (and time) I'll be scanning what I have finished and posting as well as making packages for folks who's assignments are completed - this will not be going out til earliest Monday or Tuesday latest.
Thank you all for your patience and understanding with my slowness and if you're caught up in this crazy storm as well, stay safe!

So! I just got promoted to third key at my local Gamestop again which is AWESOME and much needed as a regular income source (and reason to leave the house hahaaa..) BUT it also means that I can only work on art on my days off which is most handle-able as I used to do this when I was both doing school AND working at once. Lots of stuff in progress, not going to offer any big commissions here in time for xmas. Now, VALENTINE'S DAY... that may be a special going on after holidays are thru ;3

I'm going to be starting work again at Gamestop in September/October or so. Patreon has been a great source of motivation and inspiration for me to go through my old sketchbooks and upload arts. It's also been a motivator to do personal arts and revive old characters thanks to Patron backing. The truth is though that without support, these archives and personal artworks over at
huskie666 will fall back under neglect :/
