Ok, so I'm gonna be honest. Please do not ghost me if you are claiming a commission/adopt. I've been getting so many people ghosting me on commissions and adopts lately. This is the reason I mostly refuse to do holds anymore. I've gotten ghosted so much lately it's really upsetting. I'm gonna start doing a blacklist system where if you ghost me twice, you're blacklisted from ever commissioning me or getting an adopt from me.
I don't really want to do that but the crazy amount of times I've been ghosted or lead on, especially lately, is too much. It's tiring, it's upsetting, and it's annoying. I do not want to constantly chase down 5 people (Yes, 5 at the moment) who have been ghosting me on the off chance they'll actually go through and commission me, because they most likely won't. If your financial situation changes, just tell me! Don't lead me on for days, even weeks at a time.
I'm implementing this from now on, you ghost me twice and you're blacklisted. If you inform me that your financial situation has changed, and tell me, you will not be blacklisted unless it happens often. Then it's kinda just leading me on, y'know?
I'm gonna really start being less lenient about holds. I do not want to accept holds anymore. If you want a commission/adopt, please have the money ready to pay when you claim. I'm really tired and upset by all of this.
Yeah. Uh. Kinda feel like an ass about this but it needs to be said? I'm tired of people ghosting me on shit that someone else may very well purchase. Just. Don't ghost me. Seriously. I'm getting real tired of it. :/

hey guys, i'm really really sorry for the lack of art lately. my boyfriend has been going through some truly terrifying things and his husband and i are trying to do what we can for him. while i can't be there in person, i want to do whatever i can for him.
i'm also having a lot of hiccups with my offline life. i'm out of the house for a minimum of 12 hours a day, and then twice a week i have class, and i have therapy biweekly. i'm so so busy, with work and my studies, i have very little time for art, but i'm still trying to put away more and more money for my move later this year.
i'm really sorry for being so quiet, but i'll try to work on art more u.u

General | Posted 6 years agoI know I don't talk a lot about my life on here, but a lot has been going on lately to the point where I'm constantly anxious and constantly off my walls.
Top surgery is just this big confusing thing for me right now. Not confusing in the sense that I don't know if I want it (I very much want it as soon as possible) but getting the money for it is tough. My mom quit her job (Her job is how I got insurance) right before my surgeon was getting back if they approved my case or not. That caused a huge blow to me, and now I'm trying to get on state insurance so all my appointments and shit I don't have to pay out of pocket for. So for now, unless I can get a loan from a bank, I'm putting top surgery on hold. I'll just have to find another surgeon since the one I was originally gonna go for is retiring in January.
Then there's the issue with work. I've been thinking of leaving for a while, mostly because it's insanely stressful and I get paid jack shit for what I do. Customers abuse me on the daily, and the final straw was finding out one of my coworkers called me an 'it'. Transphobia, the reason I left my last job. My boss wasn't really helpful, she just said she'd talk to him but I'm super uncomfortable working while he's there, I feel unsafe and uncomfortable as fuck. This is never gonna change, and I know that she's not gonna do anything about this transphobic coworker. I usually have been staying late for work by two hours to help fund top surgery and moving out, but I left as close to my scheduled time as possible yesterday because he was in at my scheduled time. Sucked that he came in a half hour early and the entire time I felt uncomfortable and I felt threatened. It was the final straw, so I've been applying places and I think I have a new job, it sounds very very likely that I have it, I'm just waiting on putting my two weeks until I have the paperwork in my hand because I cannot be without a job right now. I have medical bills that cannot be unpaid. I need to pay for my meds, my phone bill, my groceries.
If I get this job, it'll be far less stressful than my current job with about the same pay. I'll miss a lot of my coworkers and some of the regulars at my current job, but I just cannot keep this up. I can't keep having stress-related crying fits in the crew room. It happens far too often because I'm always driven to my limit at my current job. I can't handle it.
I'm pushing adopts and commissions because I'm gonna be missing a lot of days of my current job in order to go to the state police for finger printing (New job requires it), training, orientation, and all that. It was originally for top surgery, but I have to be realistic and use what money I make from commissions and adopts towards necessities for now.
I'm a wreck lately, my partners have both noticed it and so have a lot of my friends. I'm working myself so hard to pay off my medical bills and afford to put a little money away every week towards my Atlanta move next year. Not only at my day job, but with art as well. I've reached a breaking point.
I'll continue to be active here, and if you'd like to help me out a bit you can always donate to my ko-fi (Link on my profile about) to make affording things easier as I take the days out of my current job for this.

Important Update
General | Posted 6 years agoSo Anime Boston was this weekend, and I had a blast! I ended up walking to Chinatown on Sunday after the con, but uhm. I tripped and fell, fracturing a bone in my left hand near my wrist. I require surgery, I only just found out about the surgery part today. While this isn't my drawing hand, I still want to take it easy. I've been taking a few days off work, I'm going back tomorrow. It's been really depressing being in a splint the past few days, but some very special people have been helping me through this. It's my first ever time fracturing/breaking a bone, so it's hitting hard. Art is gonna be slow while I recover, apologies.

Just a general update/Taking fewer commissions
General | Posted 7 years agoSooooo I wanted to give a general update as to why I have been kinda quiet here.
I'm back to full-time hours at my job in fast food, as before this I've been on "slow season" hours where my hours got cut. Now I'm back to basically full-time. I'm also a part-time student this time around. This leaves very little time for art. I'm still doing commissions, I haven't stopped them, but I'm gonna be taking considerably less commissions as to not overwhelm myself and to keep my clients in my queue from waiting too long.
The reason I'm keeping them open instead of closing them for who knows how long is because I'm finally setting a schedule for myself to hopefully have everything done up here in New England for me to move back down to Georgia in late autumn/early winter of this year (Hopefully around late November/early-to-mid December). I have to do my legal name change, get my GED, get top surgery, get my license, and have enough money saved up in order to plan a trip down there for a week or two to look at apartments and see my old roommates again. And then comes the fun part, saving up the money to actually move back down to Georgia (Hopefully somewhere around Atlanta) and then all the time it'll take to move everything of mine down into my new home as well as finding a new job as I doubt I can transfer with my current job. I'm hoping that this will be my final year up here in New Hampshire, as I am more than ready to be on my own and move out of my current house.
I'm hoping to live near, in, or right outside Atlanta, as I feel most at-home in cities and more comfortable in them than the country. Plus, Georgia feels like home. When I first went there and stepped off the bus it instantly felt like where I belong, and I'll be doing whatever I can to get back down there as soon as possible. I truly feel like that's where I'm supposed to be, as I have only ever felt this way about my hometown in Rhode Island.
I'm hoping to also have a roommate with me when I move down to Georgia as well, to help with the costs of living on my own. I maaaaaaaay be looking to more than just friends as I doubt any of my friends up here in New Hampshire would want to make the long and troublesome move down south with me, but who knows, y'know?
I will also be saving up a lot of money for my visit to look at apartments, and then the final trip down where I will be moving into my future apartment, then I'll need some money to buffer while I look for a new job.
Anyways this is basically my plan for the year. It's gonna be a lot of money and very stressful, but I'll make it work. ^^ Possible button design - Need to know interest!!

My health insurance is fucked, I owe 1.6k to my mental health place if I don't get health insurance soon, work has been nuts, and on top of that it's con season and I'm planning my trip to Anime Boston in a week or two. As much as I'd love to open up for more commissions for con funding, I just feel defeated and stressed and extremely upset. I'm also in the midst of applying for SSI in order to get health insurance in the first place. So yeah, stressful.
I will hopefully be going through commissions I owe very soon, but if you have any questions, please feel free to ask me!!

General | Posted 8 years agoSo basically my hours got cut in half this week at work, and I need about 20-30 dollars for food by Saturday. I'm panicky because even though it's not much, we only go food shopping once a week so I won't be able to run out if I get some extra cash along the way before then cause I can't drive.
