BACK FROM HIATUS - UPDATES

As you can see I had a long hiatus from fursuit building - this was due to a combination of separating with my partner which caused multiple house moves and poor health. I am not back working on suits and intend to have my queue completed by the end of this year.
I am not currently open for commissions - once I am further down my list I may open for LIMITED slots. There will be TWO slots available at a time with a 12 month turnaround. I will post a notice when these slots open.
I intend to upload new content every 6-8 weeks minimum. For more regular updates please follow the studio on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/HybridStudiosFursuits

UPDATES AND INFORMATION
Posted 11 years agoFirst of all, these have already been posted on the Hybrid Studios FACEBOOK - for regular updates I highly recommend following the Facebook account (or the Twitter as it gets crossposted over onto there via a link) - details for both accounts are on my profile here on FA. I haven't had much in the way of PC access and as such have not been able to post this on FA until today.
UPDATE 1: From 6th September
Just so people are aware there are a few notices I need to announce:
1. The website - the website is currently being remodelled still, the person remodeling the site for me has been very busy and as such it is not complete yet. The domain is due for renewal and I cannot currently afford to renew it - so for the next month or so updates will be posted either here instead
2. Surgery and moving - due to my partner receiving a job offer we are having to move very short noticed. In fact we were alerted a week ago and will be moving in a few short weeks. My husband is also having surgery on Tuesday and as such is unable to assist packing OR moving (his job starts after his recovery time) so I am having to do this all pretty much solo. Because of this all suit work will be ON HOLD until mid October - we're aiming to be in, unpacked and sorted by Oct 15th. The good news is I will have DOUBLE the workspace in the new house and be able to work longer hours. I will also be back doing fursuit work FULL TIME instead of on the part time basis I have been working the past few months due to having a second temporary job.
As always, any concerns email me - there will be a slight delay in responding to emails, again due to packing. I prefer to email on the computer (I am currently writing this on my phone) and I am not readily on my PC at the moment.
UPDATE 2 - MADE TODAY
OK, update for you all.
House move stuff is going well, partner is recovering from surgery. Pretty much everything is boxed and we are waiting for paperwork to be finalised before we move out. So far appear to be on schedule to be moved and unpacked by mid October. The workroom I will be moving into is nearly DOUBLE THE SIZE of what I had before which will allow for a lot more photographic shorts of WIP, better organisation and as such faster build times.
Website - the website is MOVING DOMAIN. The NEW address will be: http://www.hybridfursuits.co.uk/ (SITE IS NOT LIVE YET - I am waiting for my webmaster to sort that out for me). Please update your bookmarks. The reason for the domain change is my previous provider wanted $30 a year, the .co.uk address will be £3.50 a year. It was pretty much a no brainer but means I will need to purchase new business cards.... which I had planned to do anyway!
Trello - I am in the process of moving my queue to the Trello website. The advantage of Trello is that its easy to manage, has a calender system and images can be added. I intend to be posting WIP pictures on the threads for each persons build as I progress - this will be starting once I am back working in mid October.
Working - Once I am set up in the new premises I will be working full time and have the facilities to do this. Again, this will cause faster build times. I will also be intending to keep my PC in the room which will HOPEFULLY allow for STREAMING as I work.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING ALL CURRENT COMMISSION
Posted 11 years agoAs you may be aware, since November 2013 my health has been on the decline - initially it was due to recurrent severe issues regarding Bartholin Cysts which made it incredibly painful to sit for long periods and I was on heavy medication which made me drowsy and badly co-ordinated so I was unable to work as everything I was producing was much worse quality. I recovered from this issue late November/early Dec and in the end did not require surgery. Now however, my health is still dwindling however this time it is due to mental, not physical impairment. I am currently under the care of my local mental health team and trying to get through this with a combination of medication and therapy. I am very unwell right now and require supervision most of the time, I am finding it difficult to do basic tasks some days let alone work on fursuits to a suitable level of quality.
I AM still able to work but progress is very very slow at the moment due to the need for supervision (my work room is a tiny room and can only fit one person, some days I am able to work in the living room here but this is at most one day a week due to having small children here a lot of the week and due to family requiring use of the room). I fully intend to have everyones work completed to my usual standard, however it will be a much longer wait now - those who have paid rush order fees on items I will do my best to still uphold deadlines on these, if I feel I cannot I will refund the rush order portion of your order however we will need to discuss this privately as it may be over a period of a few months due to low income at this present time. I will NOT complete rush orders or push to a deadline if I feel doing so will affect my health more or the work would be below my usual standard. If I feel an item is unfit to leave I will hold it back and continue work on it until I am happy with the quality.
I will not be taking on any more commissions until my health has improved significantly and/or my list is more than 80-90% complete. I am currently considering this list of commission work to be my last and from now on only to take projects one at a time, again this would only be after completing a significant portion of my commission queue.

The winner MUST pay shipping and any customs fees. As this is a prize it WILL be marked as a GIFT.

Posted 12 years agoDue to some distressing news the past few days I have been unable to work on quotes, right now I am having a lot of difficulty working and as such have been unable to do either practical work or paperwork. As soon as I resume I will let you know, right now though I have things in my personal life I need to focus on. I apologize for any delays this may cause.

Confuzzled photoshoot - 1pm Sunday
Posted 12 years agoAttending CFz 2013? Have a Hybrid Studios fursuit? There will be a photoshoot for the studio at 1pm on SUNDAY in the ROTUNDA. We will wait for approx 10-15mins for people before moving to a less busy location outside for photos. The photoshoot is for suits made by Hybrid Studios ONLY.

Harassment issues, please read
Posted 12 years agoIt has come to my attention that people have been harassing a previous customer of mine due to a review that was written online.
I will say this once - harassment in my name is not cool and I do not approve of it. Any issues with the transaction or the suit itself are between me and the customer and do not require other people getting involved and causing unneeded distress.
In short - don't do it and if you HAVE done it, please stop. It's unfair and upsetting both to the customer and to myself for them to be harassed over this.

Jess Lyra is a friendly, Co-operative, enthusiastic British furry artist who has done a wide variety of species and art types. She started working on furry art in 2008, her art has improved amazingly since the start and has her own distinct style. Reference Sheets start from £35/$55, which are detailed and cover a vast amount of the fursona's design. Good artist to work with for new fursona designs, can work from the most basic pictures or description. Her specialties are; Big cats, kangaroos, dragons, gryphons and equines.

As such I will not be doing any fursuit work until I have been clear of symptoms for 48hrs as I do not wish to "germify" anyones work. Apologies for this folks, I will let people know when I'm back up and running!
In regards to suit work I will now be listing the "monthly projects" (as in the projects I intend to finish during X month) to give people a better idea of what's going on here.

- Neo fox fullsuit (digitigrade)

Posted 12 years agoFrom May 1st - May 19th I will NOT be working full time on commissions due to preparation for a convention taking place at the end of May, I will however still be doing part-time hours. I will cease work on May 20th and resume again on June 6th as I will be focusing on finishing convention work and attending the convention between these dates.

A very important Hybrid Studios announcement
Posted 13 years agoDue to real life commitments Spreebok is leaving the studio, Shirik will continue to work under the Hybrid Studios name but until further notice Spreebok will no longer be part of the studio. Shirik wishes Spreebok the best in her new job and her future endeavors.

Sadly, due to now being in the world of work, and having pretty much ZERO time to myself now, I'm stepping down from Hybrid Studios, and Shirik is going solo! I'll still be on hand to give advice or help if anyone needs it, but it's been so long since I've managed to actually complete anything besides a tail, it makes more sens efor Shirik to take the business and make it her own :D
Who knows, maybe when circumstances change and I get more time, I can come back again, and this certainly won't be it from me fursuit making wise!
Thankyou all for being awesome and supporting me during the time I spent under the Studio name, and maybe one day I can come back :D
