80%+ of all the art on FA is clean stuff

I reckon that the reason why lots of people didn't believe this might be the importance given to said subject.
As rude ad it might seem, when I first posted a (quite sketchy and not really awezomeez) pornographic picture it got some instafavs, while often my long-worked clean pictures barely get a peek.
Of course I know this is perfectly normal, so -please- don't get this as a rant, I'm merely trying to guess the reason behind a common reaction.
Cheers.

The art of comment
Posted 17 years agoAlthough the title may induce someone to think that the aim of this essay is to give indication on the subject of constructively commenting a submitted work of art (not dwelling further in the meaning and implication of this term), this is not the case. If you are looking for one such compendiary, you should head here, for this is the best that I know of.
Truly, what I mean to outline is a certain way of creative commenting of which I, from time to time, encounter here and there; my intenction is to understand the forma mentis (mental attitude) that generates a specific kind of witty remark.
I am, therefore, going to write out a general rule:
A comment has to point out the subject, and whole point, of a picture, as if it was a minor flaw the author just happened to have forgotten in his work.
I shall now show two examples:
Comment posted regarding this picture: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1644660/
- http://img48.imageshack.us/img48/62.....commentvd7.png
Notice how the Commentator stressed the good-natured nature of his/her annotation, perhaps giving out a subtle vein of mild annoyance, augmented by the expression of his/her avatar. Wonderful.
Comment posted regarding this picture: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1736152/

This is a fairly more elaborate innuendo, whom introduces a variation in the rule, a sort of corollary.
{COROLLARY} Whilst finding youself in position of being made to notice the obvious, feign surprise {END OF COROLLARY}
As we can see the Reknown commentator has pointed out what was, by position and size-discriminated comparison, the main (if not, at least among the main) focus of the drawing. I'd like you to wonder at the lapidary statement which incarnates the aforemenctioned: one single word, a nominal syntagm, obscure but alluding. To augment this uncertain mysterical knowledge, the avatar stares out at the observer with a kind of all-knowing gaze, remarking smugly that he can, verily, taste colors.
"cock"
That such a tiny word could hold such an impressive symbolical momentum!
The poster of the drawing, finding himself tripped by this comment, quickly regains his footing with a masterful manoeuvre: he attacks with a shocked reaction, gaining the precious seconds he needed to get his balance back, whereupon he proceeds in soothing his line with a thankful, conciliating conclusion.
This compels the Reknown commentator to open a new front, but the successive remarks, on both parts, lack strenght, resulting in a simple exchange of parries in the afterglow of the conflict.
The comments that follow these four constantly go back to menctioning this leitmotif (i.e. the cock), mostly with simple remarks avoid of flair, until one Commentator is struck with inspiration:
He counters the feigned obliviousness by feigning obliviousness, spicing his feign with a turn of direction open the very last letters of his sentence, fascinating!
In conclusion the Poster shows his appreciation backing his sentence, also ninjas (everything's better with ninjas).
P.S.: I apologize in advance if this manages to upset anyone. I do not mean to make fun of anyone, I just found these comments rotflsome and thought it would have been entertaining to write a sort of pseudo-intellectual rethoric essay on them.

Never go out drinking, expecially if you also intend to eat tons of fried crap the night before a long and hard day at the university.
I saw the professor moving his mouth, and had the distinct impression that there was some noise on the background... but the twelve ninjabears singing "Kung-fu fighting"
(Everybody was kung-fu fighting
Those cats were fast as lightning
In fact it was a little bit frightning
But they fought with expert timing)
were somewhat swaying my attenction on the matter at hand.

Posted 17 years agoHallo,
I just wanted to say that work is slowing down even more (if it's possible) because this is a busy period, and I have to draw hatclings, which is un unfamiliar subject for me, but that's cool, it's a good exercise :)
On a completely different note, am I the only one who dosn't know a thing about computers? It's quite awkard when people ask me about my pc's RAM and all I think about is the siege weapon... I sort of feel like I'm the only sod in this wide webbed world who thinks that pixels are pygmy daimons living inside the screen D:
Oh... and i failed my last exam, but shit happens rama rama ding ding, besides I bought a DS who needs to pass exams when you can save the world (or Zelda yet again) with a stick and two screens? grumble rumble rumble rant rant rant.
A game before I go!
put in chronological order the following things:
A)Mankind become sedentary
B)Agriculture
C)Breeding
D)Dog domestication
E)Pottery making
F)Pottery use
Who guesses right wins 5 points of awesomeness.
Who points out that I should be working instead of proposing futile games gains 5 points of Lose.
Cheers!

Since today I finally found time to sit in front of my computer for more than a couple of minutes I'll update this journal with (hopefully) useful information.
For those of you who commissioned me something I must ask you to bear with me a while longer, in the last few days I had to study a lot for an exam, therefore I didn't have any time left to draw; I think this situation won't change before tuesday 19, and the university begins tomorrow.
I'll find time to finish what I started, and hopefully I will have time to accept more commission later on, but for now I prefer finishing these one before considering whether or not accepting more commission.
Cheers!
