I haven't posted any photos in ages, and it's really started to get to me. There are many reasons why I haven't spent as much time on photography lately, not the least of which is getting a fursuit, but there's more to it than that. When I'm not suiting and I do take pictures, I don't post anything because nothing seems good enough anymore. I think this is probably something that happens to artists as well: you compare your output to other people who are better than you, or even to your own previous work that you particularly liked, and suddenly nothing seems up to par anymore. That sense of inadequacy leads to lack of inspiration, a lack of motivation, and before you know it, what once was a hobby you had to pull yourself away from becomes an insurmountable obstacle you can't bring yourself to tackle.

Anyway, that's lame, and it make you feel lame, so I'm gonna stop doing that. I have images I've wanted to post, and I'm going to make myself post them. My exposures may not be as perfect--nor my descriptions as poetic--as some things I've put up before, but it's better to share what I have than to let it while away on spinning rust never to see the light of day. I'm thinking I'll set a goal to post an image each day and see how that goes. I'll probably get busy sometimes and forget, but it's a start.

I still need to get around to processing all of my photos from Sandy Paws, but the Oceanside meet had fewer photographers than Sandy Paws did, so I prioritized it. As always, photos are CC-By licensed, so feel free to repost with credit.

I didn't get as many pics as usual because standing around at the house just doesn't make for the kind of fun we'd get up to at In-N-Out, but I didn't come away empty-handed. This was the second meet I've been to with The Ball, and it always steals the spotlight. We love our ball, even if it is one kraut helmet away from a very sad ending.

I've also uploaded the photos from last month's Kearney Mesa meet. These photos are almost all burst shots of people playing with the ball, since almost no one suited that month. We got up to PS last weekend and I took some photos when I wasn't busy playing CAH. I'm actually really happy with some of these and could spend many hours tweaking them to perfection, but then no one would remember or care by time I uploaded them, so up they go right now with just some quick fixes in Bridge.

I'm back from a wonderful trip to Pittsburgh with  vulpie and  galelai . We had lots of fun, and I was even so efficient about it that I managed to use the same meme post for two consecutive years (or some might say I'm absurdly remiss about posting journal updates, but I'm calling it efficiency, and who reads journals anyway?). My goal to photograph the con didn't go quite as I'd planned, but nonetheless, I have several thousand photos to sift through for several (singular) keepers. I'll begin posting them as I finish obsessively dickering with them in Photoshop.

After being told a month ago that there was no way I could have the time off, my work randomly scheduled me a six-day weekend I didn't ask for. Airfare be damned, I wasn't about to spend a week sitting in my house moping about passing up this chance the Universe seemed to want me to have. Plus now I have an excuse to fill out one of these journal meme thingies, if for no other reason than to put something on my FA page.

Where are you staying?

At the Wyndham Grand. I found out I'd be able to go at the last possible minute, and they were the only hotel with rooms left. Thankfully, there's a shuttle this year, and failing that, I can use the exercise of a 3/4 mile walk anyway.

What day are you getting there?

I'm arriving Thursday afternoon.

Trapped in a huge metal tube hurtling through the sky!

Who are you rooming with?

My best friend from school whom I haven't seen in like a decade is driving out from DC to join me. He's not a furry (Brony though), and I'm looking forward to traumatizing him showing him around at his first furcon.

My friend, Yupo, and anyone who will hang out with me. I tend to stand around being lonely, but it's not because I don't want to hang out, so if you see me, feel free to grab me and drag me along with you.
