Zootopia.....and furries... *eye roll, personal opinion*
Posted 9 years agoSo I know without a doubt I will most likely get some sort of reaction as I write this but as many I am entitled to voice my feelings and my view is this....
Furries stop. Okay, just stop
I recently saw Zootopia and unfortunately though it has become my favorite movie, it has also brought to light that those who deem themselves as "furries" claim this movie is for them and thus has brought a large negative controversy to the movie itself.
This is not to say that it can't be said that the movie is appealing with amazing characters but one cannot ignore what has gone on behind the scenes.
Zootopia is no more a "furry" movie than bugs bunny or kung fu panda, okay?
The term funny animals was given to characters dated back to the days of Chuck Jones and Tex Avery.
The fact that "furries" have run to not only say the movie is a furry movie is nothing short of immature and rediculous.
I also find it upsetting that though one may draw characters like Winnie the Pooh and Wile E Coyote are called furries.
They are not.
Zootopia was created and almost cancelled by Disney because they didn't want to be associated with the furry fandom which has largely now become much to my dismay a sesspool of pornography to the point where some artists won't even draw them anymore because of what it has become.
I am aware that there are those of us who appreciate anthropomorphic characters which are much different and older than the funny animals.
Many ancient cultures used anthros to personify a natural element or associated a particular animal with an aspect of nature.
So, with all this, I am meaning to say, chill okay. People who associate themselves with furries and those who do not appreciate Zootopia and Kung Fu Panda, Madagascar and Cats Don't Dance so stop placing a tag as "furry movies" on them and let those of us who want to appreciate them to do so.
