Wacom Bamboo Create Raffle.
Posted 13 years agoThat's right. I'm raffling off my bamboo create. http://0.tqn.com/d/graphicssoft/1/0.....boo-Create.jpg
It's only been used since this past Feb. and I take very good care of my art supplies.
My university is shipping my intuos 5 this week, so why the hell not?!
Instead of doing Iron Artist, I figured this would be a better idea.
So. In order to participate, you need to buy one of 30 slots.
They will be fullbody inked commissions, you choose adult or clean. They will be monochrome, you pick the color.
(if you want shading it'll be $5 extra)
Slots are $15.
A winner will be drawn as soon all slots are paid for.
(I will literally write everyone's name down and draw it from a fish bowl, unless someone can suggest a better way to do it digitally.)

Iron Artist?
Posted 13 years agoI've heard about it, but is it worth it? I'm not sure, but I do know I need the practice.
What would be a reasonable price?

Commissions
Posted 13 years agoUnfortunately I've had to cancel those discounted commissions that had not already been paid for, by no fault of the customer. Many things have happened between now and then, including started school again, taking care of the little one, moving nearly 1000 miles south and revamping my art with some new techniques. I sincerely apologize to those of you who have been inconvenienced and I've noted each one of you.
Now, I've updated my commission prices to better fit my time, and financial, constraints. I hope you'll all find them reasonable. (I'm usually able to work with someone if it's an exceptional situation.) You can find the link on my page along with some basic examples of my work.

Oh-HO! You should read this. I would if I were you....
Posted 13 years agoSo, I'm fabricating a custom hood-y of my character. It's going to have ears, a tail and a little mouth in the belly with a long, plushy tongue, just like the drawing! You jelly? I bet you are. You can tell me. I'm good at keeping secrets....*AHEM* Anyway! I've cut all the pieces and will show WIP pictures in between artwork.
BASICALLY. I may be persuaded to take some hood-y commissions. Who needs a giant hot fursuit, anyway? HUH! Not me. I think I'd only do like...2 or maybe 3. I don't know how much I'll like doing it. We're about to find out.
The materials would be a wonderfully soft fleece-y fabric. Lined on the inside, perhaps. Unfortunately, it would be quite expensive, unless i found a decent whole-saler.
I'll take one slot for a hood-y after mine is complete. You cover cost of materials and shipping.

A good start.
Posted 14 years agoI've been thinking real hard about doing some fund raising commissions between my waiting list customers, to keep me fresh and do a good thing. I've been having trouble coming up with one that would really strike home for me, and I think I've finally figured it out. My best friend Jeremy is 23 and the most intelligent person I know. He's loving and vibrant and will never back down from a fight. He was diagnosed and has been living with type 1 diabetes since he was 10 months old. He's got an insulin pump and works 2 jobs to afford his medication, but for all of that, he still has to use his insulin supplies sparingly because he can't afford medical insurance and makes too much for the state to cover him. This means that his kidneys have been slowly failing for the past 3 years. There has been too much damage to reverse and it doesn't look good for the future either. I thought about donating to the non-profit state organizations, but that didn't seem direct enough. I've decided to donate to the American Diabetes Association (more info found here! http://www.diabetes.org/).
I asked him if he was dying. He plainly answered, "You already know." At that point I asked him what I could do and all he wants is to spend as much time with his God son (my little boy) as possible. I plan to make that a reality. In the meantime, if you'd like to donate directly, please do it on the site, or if you'd rather buy a commission, please let me know in advance that it's for this cause and 100% of the money will go to the proceeds.
I'd rather just give him the money directly, but he won't accept it. He says it's ridiculous because I have a small mouth to feed. Which is true. But it still hurts.
Thanks.

Heads up!
Posted 14 years agoMy sale prices are going to end on the 29th! So grab a space on the waiting list. Anyone who's on it, locks in that price. Again, info is here ---> http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/3177938/
I don't know what my prices will be after that. If you have a suggestion, based on my work, tell me what you'd be willing to pay (based on the examples given in my current commish info). I honestly don't know what would be fair to the customer but would also be fair to me. Get back to me!

Updated Commission Info.
Posted 14 years agoSingle character, inked and colored with basic cell-shading: $40 add $10 per extra character.
(see front page for example)
Badges, inked and colored with basic cell-shading: $20 if you want it laminated with a clip and mailed to you (continental US only) add $5.
(example SOON!)
Reference sheets: $60 add $10 for cell shading.
(example http://www.furaffinity.net/view/7221219)
I will not have "slots". I will have a waiting list. The waiting list has unlimited spots. If I'm going to finish your commission within the week, I'll let you know and you can either pay me when you receive the pose sketch or when it's finished.
I reserve the right to work on any commission at any given time, regardless of your position on the list. I had previously promised that it would be first come first serve, but if I'm working on something and it's not coming out the way I need it to, it means I need to work on something else for a little bit. Staring at the same thing and feeling like you're getting nowhere is certainly not going to make for a great picture!

First journal!
Posted 14 years agoSo, here's my first FA journal. Hooray, as everyone rejoices!
Hokay, so, I don't know how often I'll post art. We'll see. I'm a full time student and parent of a 3 month old, so I'll be taking this one day at a time.
I'm still learning my own style as an artist, so you may notice that one piece differs greatly from another. That's just 'cause I'm trying out new things.
As far as commissions go ALL OF MY STUFF IS GOING TO BE SUPER CHEAP. I will not have a set commission list. I will have a waiting list, however. This will allow me to take on commissions, time willing. Prices are as follows.
Sketches- $10
Inks- $15-20
Colors- $20-40 (depending on how many characters, cell shading, background, etc)
Badges- $10 (if you just want the art) $20 (if you want it mailed to you, laminated with a badge clip/lanyard)
Paypal only. Address upon request. 'W'
