my computer blue screened and my OS corrupted, i could save some files but not everything. was only able to view files in linux, and had to clear my ssd entirely. im still very worried it will fail again as it failed once and caused my ram to fail.
i will be ordering new/more ram and a new ssd to run my OS off of as soon as i can afford to. my guess is that i didnt have enough ram to do the things i needed to. this was not the first blue screen, just the first one that caused that much damage.
all my brushes and work items are gone, and i would assume some commission files. i will contact those who i cant find files for as im able to sort through things. usually i store everything work related externally in case something like this ever happened, but ive been getting lazy and would save current projects to my desktop.
anyway, this is your reminder not to save anything important to your OS drive in case of failure and frequently back up anything important. (also if you can, get a small thumb drive to have a fresh install /boot drive of your OS in case of failure. have it and not need it, vs need it and not have it. personally i keep a copy of linux on hand because its lightweight, it has very much been useful.)
