Yesterday I came home and sat down and got all cozy and was going to start doodling when I picked up my stylus for my Wacom and realized something was terribly wrong, my stylus was too long.... As in...someone had pulled it apart, it was broke.

My $80 stylus for my tablet was DESTROYED. My fiance's bro and his gf and two boys are staying with us right now as they take care of some loose ends here in Idaho before they go back to Oregon. The two boys must of gotten a little to curious or something, but in the madness they ended up pulling my stylus apart. I had them both sit down as I scolded them for a good 20 minutes about how that stylus is a key tool to my life.... that if they wanted to see they should of asked, and when it broke they should of TOLD somebody rather than let me just FIND it that way and have me get so mad. I then had them start doing every single chore that I could think of, and not letting play with the new toys they just got from the store e___e;;

So now I'm in hiatus until I can get a new stylus in.

Today while I was at work I got a phone call....bro and family were in the car driving along when all of a sudden BOOM, tree fell on top of their car.

Sounds ridiculous, ya? Well it really does, but here's the full scoop. Driving by a field that had been previously had the ditches and what not burned the other day, had neglected to ensure that all the embers were completely OUT. The fire had started smoldering the inside of a 100 ft tall tree. Luck would have it that just as they were driving by the tree fell over and collided into their windshield. He swerved the car to the side to help keep it from completely crushing the entire family. They are now in ER waiting treatment.

I get this call at about 3pm. I call Richard to let him know what happened and to have him get off work an hour early so that I can take my car to him, go to the hospital, pick up the kids and take them home until we knew what was going on. At about 4:15 I arrive at the hospital. He is STILL sitting their fucking waiting. His hands are CRUSHED, splayed open and BLEEDING all over the fucking place. He is a hemophiliac (for those of you who don't know what that is, its a condition where the person's blood doesnt clot properly on their own. They require special treatment to keep from bleeding to death.) Now....I understand that hospitals are busy places and they have a lot of shit going down, but I honestly was completely APPALLED by the lack of professionalism here. Thank god the kids were ok because seriously this would of been so much more traumatic for them had they needed care. His girlfriend has an injury to her leg, the doctor maybe spend a max of two minutes with her before having her go out the door, no pain meds or anything. It's now after midnight and she is STILL pulling out glass shards from her arm and leg. They did finally get his hands bandaged up, but the fact that when I got there they were still completely open?
It was pretty gross, I won't lie. His left hand broken with dried blood/gravel and what not stuck to it, his right hand he had his index and ring finger completely splayed down from the knuckle down to the finger tip, you could see the bones in his second knuckles. His thumb was swollen and scratched and it seriously looked just down right awful. I'm honestly surprised they didnt need to do surgery. He lucked out, as his tendons are frayed but not severed. The few nurses that dealt with them through out the ordeal argued with them, first about his gf trying to explain why not to call the exhusband in to get the kids, next about his previous dealings with his needed shots of factor (a blood clotting agent), and just the sheer rudeness about it all. I've made a mental note to not ever let anyone take me to this hospital if I ever need help. After all this crazyness I got to go back to work haha; oh my goodness so tired. u_u;;;

In the end everything turned out ok, it could of been so much worse. The kids were so fortunate to walk away without a scratch. Her leg is gonna hurt like a bitch but will mend ok, and despite his hands being completely useless for awhile (he's a computer programmer, so much for coding haha;;;;;)....it really turned out alright. I just.....can't comprehend someone being so careless with their property.

....I hope that they can get a good settlement out of the deal, if nothing else to replace their car, pay the hospital bills and take care of any other random debts that may accrue from this. I am annoyed that someone wasn't paying attention to their own property and let something like that happen to their own trees, let alone the fact that it just HAPPENED to fall while someone was driving by. What kind of freaking luck is that?!

Tomorrow I'm gonna go car searching with Richard to get him a new vehicle since we've been meaning to do that anyway. I will also need to locate his bro's totaled car and grab any belongings and what not. I will also need to get a new stylus T_T; that will probably have to be purchased online however since nobody just sells those seperately in stores. I have a hell of a migraine and I'm tired....so I'm going to bed.

This is all legitimate shit that I have experienced, sometimes every day. This is retail. THIS. IS. REAL. And for every customer who has put me through one of these situations?! Fuck you. I seriously, fucking hate you.

Wow, what a crazy weekend!! It was a lot of fun, I'm sad that I wasn't able to be there the entirety of the weekend but I would love to say thank you to all those that stopped by and said hi!!!

uou I'm super tired, I did so many badge commissions this weekend haha!! But it was well worth it, I hope next year will go a bit smoother as far as email communications.

Back in the day I use to take a lot of commissions for dirt cheap. I had all the time in the world to do art and so I didn't care to do pictures for $20-30 a commission. However in the last few years I had to bring my commissioning almost to a dead halt. I've gone back and forth but when I tried to do price ranges that I felt fit my artwork I tend to always get a few people who have to snark about it. So I've decided to write up a little journal on how I feel about it, and maybe help give a bit of perspective to those out there who want to commission others.

I typically spend 9-10 hours on a picture. So if I have someone pay me $30 for a picture that takes me 10 hours, I let that person pay me $3 an hour. Industry wise that actually should of been $20-30 an hour. So I find it extremely offensive when people get angry when I ask for $80-100 for a picture. I feel that asking for $8-10 an hour is more than fair. Back when I was in highschool, I didn't have bills. I didn't own a house, I didn't have a car I paid on, insurance, pets, etc. I didn't pay for food and it was rare that I paid for other expenses like clothes and what not. So then I didn't care to only get $20-30 for a picture. But now? I pay a mortgage, I pay on my car, car insurance. I have a cell phone. I have student loans. I pay for my utilities, and not just electricity. I pay for water, sewage, trash. I pay for my internet. I pay for gas heating, and I pay for other things like clothes and food. I have pets. I have responsibilities. Granted I work 45 hours a week but still, that just makes my freetime all the more precious.

So...if I'm going to dedicate time to you to draw something for you, I think it's fair that I ask for a price that will not also benefit the time I put into what I do for you, but can also go into the things that support my life. My computers were not free, my tablet is not free. I don't get a free replacement stylus if mine breaks or gets lost. My bristol paper, prisma markers and pencils are not free. My schooling was not free. My house was not free. None of these things were just given to me. I had/have to work for them. Some things I have to pay for on a consistent basis. So in my opinion, it's not a matter of trying to rip off commissioners. It's a matter of supporting my lifestyle.


So please, when you see an artist you feel charges a lot for their work... Take a moment to see things from their perspective. ESPECIALLY if they live as a freelance artist. I can guarantee most of them are not 16 year olds living with their parents with a lot of time on their hands. Most of them have things to pay for, a life to support, sometimes multiple lives to support. Even if they are your friends, if you care you should respect their rates.

My friend Nikki's dog Shadow has a 4cm tumor on his throat and it's going to cost her about $1500 to get it removed. Shadow has been Nikki's best buddy since she got him when he was only a wee one. He means the world to her. It breaks my heart that she doesn't have the money up front to help pay. I am asking anyone and everyone if it's possible to please help out.

Argh so close to finishing one commish that I'm like WOOOHOO, but I am trying my darndest to make it look awesome since it took me forever to get some time to actually DEDICATE to it, but no excuses! I'm on the home stretch now. I will attempt to have it up by the end of the week x3

I am soooo tired, had to bust my ass this past week as I was in charge (boss was on vacation), I feel we did really well. Sales were up and I managed to keep everything in somewhat good order. There's a new guy at my store who slightly freaks me out. I have no problem with people enjoying their fandoms but when it's so much that it oozes out of them it just makes me want to kind of slink away. <>;

I've tried uploading some of mah musics and will try and keep up with that as time goes by. I have a LOT of music from 2007-2009 that I never shared except with close personal friends. It makes me sad that these things sit in my folders untouched and unloved bwhaha. But I was listening back through and I noticed some of the sound quality came out funky on a lot of them. Sooo I will probably set up a soundcloud in the future and try and make some youtubes of it or something. I have livestream so I can synch up some drawing sessions with that or something, I dunno.

So I'm a pretty open and nice person....at least I'd like to think so. But yesterday while at a booth with my friends attempting to sell stuff...notice I said attempting.......

The people I hang with, there are a lot of people in this group and I don't know everyone, so I don't assume to know everyone. So when this goth kid came INTO our booth and SAT on me I assumed he was just a friend. I couldn't see my friend's face nor could I see her tell him to get off, in that, you know, GET THE FUCK OFF NOW tone. Well later as conversation lulled by I came to know that he was no one. And I came ot a disturbing realization.

....I just let a complete random fucking stranger sit on my god damned lap.

Pride was a bit of a rip off. The booth was $225 for a day. We got a 10x10' plot of sod. Grass. Spot. We had to provide the table, canopy, merchandise(duh) and everything. Never at any point did any of the real staff actually come up to us and acknowledged us, and even before the event, getting the paperwork from them was ridiculous. They never responded to any of the emails until the very last second and even then it was rather blah at best. The sheer lack of customer service from this event has insured that I will not attempt to even think about a booth next year.

The crowds on the other hand were great. The economy kind of sucks right now and no one really had any money so sales were a bit kaput, but otherwise I had a great time hanging out and meeting people. Except for goth boy, you who sat on me without giving me the courtesy of introducing yourself. You dick. I am most displeased with you. But yea, everyone else is awesome.

Now I must attempt to finish this commissions.......

Alrighty...FINALLY.

Assistant Manager training is complete. I am now officially an assistant manager, and have now been set in a permanent home. I won't be working in said permanent home of course until the new store is set and everyone has enough coverage, but that's not as big of a deal when it comes to that.

I got my spare stylus back from my old roomie, thank goodness. I can't believe that my stylus had the nerve to up and explode on me like that. Seriously!! These stupid things cost like $80, thats not pocket change for me.

I have completed the logo commission that was eating up so much of my time, I am now ready to start sketching some other stuff that has been needing to be completed for quite some time. Again, I apologize to everyone who has had to wait so long. I also thank you sooo much for your very appreciated patience. I adopted a new cat, his name is Chancey. He is 11 years old and has no teeth. But he looks just like my Meika so I took him in and rescued him from a family who could no longer care for him since other animals were attacking him. He has a nasty scar on top of his head along with the tip of his ear gone. But he's a real cuddle bug and has made himself right at home with the rest of the crew. :) Ill upload a picture of him later.

Oh. My. Gosh.

If I have ONE more freaking delay on my house signing I think I am going to snap. March 14th was my original closing date. I was going to go in, sign off on the papers, get my keys and get moved in. Before the convention, before my promotional training, and before everything else got insanely busy. But no. I have had delay after delay after delay. Even this morning I got another delay. Suppose to sign at 11 now won't be signing till noon. Better fucking hope I can get signed off before 1 because my IRL commissioner would like to meet up. I pushed ALL of my yesterday appointments to TODAY because I thought I was going to sign on the house YESTERDAY. But nooo it had to take a fucking DAY AND A HALF to get ONE. FUCKING. SIGNATURE.

Seriously??

So yea I'm a bit stressed. I can't afford to keep pushing this back any further. The biggest reason? My job. For an entire month I am doing assistant manager training and that schedule is in stone. I can't adjust my schedule around with out jeopardizing my job. The store I'm training at has such an insane strict schedule that I might as well just cement my feet to the damn floor. Because of this, I can't move my days off around and nor can I reschedule some of my appointments.

ARGH. Well enough on that. Hopefully my realtor gets back to me soon on the amount of my cashiers check so I can get that taken care of.

Once I get the house situated I will finally be able to get stuff packed and moved. The initial move itself will probably not happen until one of my days off next week, however, I will probably do it all in one day. I am so sick of my apartment and I am really irritated with the hold ups. Plus, the sooner I get moved, the sooner I can get my printer and scanner hooked back up. I have a serious back up in art and files I need to get scanned in LOL. Not to mention you dont realize how useful your printer is until its not there. FUuuuu.

Commission work has been stupidly slow, and I apologize. My irl commission has been a bit more demanding that I anticipated so hopefully once I meet up with her for our appointment I can get some of the hang ups out of the way and get rolling again. Logos can be such a pain in the ass. 8D;;;

I currently have a pug moved in with me now, so my zoo has expanded a bit. I found a house! I'm so excited! Its a beautiful 3 bedroom 2 full bath house with a split bedroom floorplan. It's open and light and I have a HUUUUUUGE beautifully fenced yard for my dog. It even has a nice little dog run with a house. Granted I will need to replace the house, it looks a bit ragged. But overall after having the place inspected the only thing I can really see any fault with is the furnace which needs a good cleaning and service tune up. However that will be the seller's priority (I would at least hope so anyway) and other than that the only thing I'm stuck on right now is making sure I have enough funds to cover the closing costs.

In most cases I would actually be covering the downpayment, but because the loan I got fully finances the entirety of that, I agreed to make an offer on the house where I would pay the closing costs, it turned out to be a great deal. I stayed under my 100k budget and if I pull it off I'll have exactly what I was looking for.

However, my closing costs equated out to 2800, which is amazingly cheap and for the most part not difficult to pull together, however due to the bills I currently pay in a month (mostly school loans and a car payment haha) it's extremely hard for me to pull that much together so quickly.

This makes me so sad that it's in a foriegn country because I would take the puppies in a heart beat, the worst of it is that these puppies are still far too young to be taken from their mother. Anyhow, the person that wrote this journal is wanting help in having money to take care of it. I wish them the best. If you can help them out or pass the word a long, please do.

It makes me mad that animals don't have as many rights as people do, and it really makes me sick how much worse it is in some other countries. T__T

Work really sucks at the moment, hours are really bad this time of year which makes it hard to keep up on the bills since you have only so much to work with. Not to mention everyone who was too stupid to figure out their electronics from Christmas come in expecting us to magically smack them in the forehead and have it all make sense. March will be especially fun because thats about when everyone breaks their equipment and then tries to return it.

If anything though, I'm glad I do have my job. I know a lot of people out there are really struggling to find anything despite what the news says. I just don't want to end up defaulting on anything because I didn't have enough hours. It's bad enough to be in debt with school loans, its even worse to not be able to pay them considering thats something that doesn't leave your records. Ever.

School loans are evil.

The other weird thing to all this is the fact that I'm now looking for a house to buy. I have a 60 lbs German Shepard/Husky mix that trying to find a place to rent that will allow one is ridiculous right now. Either no dogs or nothing over 20 lbs, or they want like 1k a month for the place PLUS utilities PLUS pet rent. Pet rent really irritates me. It's not like my dog can go out and get a job and help pay. Assholes.

So yea, house. I can buy a 3 bedroom 2 bath house with a yard for like $500 a month. Fuck yes, I pay $600 now and some for utilities. And I don't even have my own private yard right now xD. I share it with four other people (I live in a fourplex) and it wouldn't be so bad but my neighbor below me is a really mean bitch that actually frightens me. (I think she is a crack head...she's super skinny and is always screaming).... and then the other downstairs neighbors have four big dogs and they never clean up after them. :/ So I'm always scooping up massive piles of poo that don't even belong to my dog. So...yea, I'm kind of tired of that too. The neighbor across from me is a friend of ours so I have no issues with them thankfully.

But to be honest, I'd like to be able to just open the door and let my dog out to run around in the backyard instead of having to walk down a flight of stairs and stand with her for fifteen minutes so she can do so and take her back inside. (My yard isn't fenced in and I don't want anyone walking off with my dog). Not to mention I have a rabbit that Id like to let run around in his corral in the yard too.

Rules
1. I am not too picky on what I will draw, you are free to request any idea you'd like. However, keep these things in mind, please:
- I ultimately will decide if I will post a commission online. If it is an adult rated commission that is extremely sexually explicit I am more likely to not post it. However if you choose that you do not want your commission uploaded for any reason, that is your decision and I will respect to keep the commission confidential.
- I am open to many types of drawings, but I am not really comfortable with strange fetishes, ie; creatures with 50 penises/vaginas/boobs etc, unnaturally inflated creatures, etc. If you are not sure if your idea would fall under this do not stress it too much. I will politely let you know if it is or not.
-I reserve the right to refuse any commission for any reason. If for some reason I am not comfortable with your commission, please respect that. I will assure you that it is not because I am trying to be mean, I just want to make sure that any commissions I take on will be done to the best of my ability and will be worth what you pay for them.


2. Process of commissions will be maintained. This is the basic order of how a commission will proceed:
-Once you request a commission and give me the details I will approve it.
-Once a commission request is approved, I will give you details on the price.
-I will draw up a sketch of your commission. You will be sent the sketch and any changes needed to be done to the drawing will need to be done at this point in time. Any changes made after the sketch is approved and completed will be charged extra Changes means any significant alterations to the initial drawing, this doesn't include color alterations.
-Once you have approved the sketch, payment is expected. You will either pay in full or in part. Part means half. So if your commission is $50, you can pay $25. If you pay in full then the rest doesn't matter.
-Once payment has been received and cleared I will ink and put flats on your image. You will receive a low res preview of the commission at this stage. If approved I will then expect the rest of your payment at this point in time if you have not already paid in full. If you have paid in full, I will continue once it is approved.
-Once payment is complete and commission is approved, it is completed. Any extra charges that were added for changes will be expected to be paid before the completed product is sent. Again, changes are only charged AFTER the sketch is approved and ready to go and alter the initial drawing. I do not charge for changes in color.
-If you choose to receive actual products of your commission ie; prints/stickers etc I will mail them out to you ASAP. You are not charged extra for these, they are already included in your initial commission price and it will be decided at time of commission request.



3. Refund Policy; Trust me, I get it. Shit happens. Literally. Haha, but in the event that you need to cancel your commission, here are somethings to keep in mind:
-If you cancel before I do the lineart on a commission, you will recieve a 100% full refund for your commission. No questions asked. Just let me know and I will send the cash back your way. If for any reason I can't immediately send the money back that day, just know that the next current Friday you can expect to see a payment shipped back to you. (I get paid every Friday from my job hurrhurr)
-If I have already completed lineart, I will take half of a half of the full commission. What the crap does that mean? Well, if you have a $50 commission and need it refunded, I will keep $12.50 for my time. If you paid in full then you will get back $37.50. If you only paid $25 at that point, then you get back $12.50. Hopefully this is simple enough and makes sense.
-If I have completed your commission there are no refunds at this point. I do feel that there is more than enough time between when I start your commission till I complete it for you to decide whether or not you want it.


4. Payment Policy; Because it's easy and it is safe, I only work through Paypal. I do not accept checks, money orders, or cash through snail mail. It's not safe and I do not want to lose people's money. My paypal is the same as my email ^ Please wait to send any payment until after I have accepted your commission request and approved a set amount for your commission. Shipping and Handling is always covered by initial commission price if the you decide you want a print of your commission


5. List of absolute "do nots":
-I will not do copyrighted characters ie; Digimon, Sonic, Pokemon, specific iconic characters that are NOT owned by YOU. I have no intentions on copyright infringing anything.
-I will not use your commission for personal use unless you give specific permission. This means I will not use the work I did for you and sell on my product sites such as society6, etsy, or my own personal stuff (bookmarks and stickers). If for some reason I feel I would like to use your commission for such things I will definitely ask.
-I will not continue work without payment. Do not try and twist my arm to do work for you for free.
-I have had people in the past try and scam me for commissions. Please keep in mind that if you try to do any such thing, I will make a beautiful black list for all to see.
-Do not remove my watermark please

6. I have my commission, what are my rights with it?
-You can receive a free 8x10 print of your commission from me.
-You will have a full res of your commission emailed to you.
-You can do WHATEVER you want with your commission AS LONG AS: You do not use it to make profit and give credit when used if possible please. :3

$80, +$10 for each additional character; 3 max characters allowed
This is a full body rendition of your character without a background. You can recieve an 8x10" print of this commission.

I do have the ability to make prints of any of my works. You can request an 8x10 print from my gallery and have it mailed to you for only $10! Or you can do 5 prints $20! That includes shipping and handling 8D~ It can be any of my images as long as it is not a commission, trade, and or gift. All other pictures are game!~

So it's kind of been snowing a little here and there on and off the past few weeks. But not enough to really cause much distress. However last night, from early afternoon all the way till now it's been snowing. xD; I had to weave back and forth and plow my way out of my parking spot this morning! It scared me because I thought I was going to be STUCK. U_U;;; My poor little car is not tall enough to drive through this stuff very well. The roads really suck but everything is so beautiful and white right now. It's been a long time since I've seen snow like this XD; Last year I didn't get any. It's definitely making up for it now hahaa. oOo
