Posted 5 years agoMan, time sure is flying by. It's hard to believe I joined FA over 8 years ago. I really should become active here again.
Happy New Year!
Posted 5 years agoHey hey, folks! Happy New Year to y'all! I hope the new decade brings lots of good things to everyone. 2020, here we come!

Posted 6 years agoA day late, but close enough. Geeze, I'm looking back at times past and wondering how time has flown by so fast. I hope everyone has been doing well.
Happy New Year!
Posted 6 years agoHeya, folks! I realize I haven't been active much lately, and that this is kind of a day late, but happy new year, everyone! May it be even better than the last!

Posted 7 years agoWow, I can hardly believe I'm already 22. Time is really flying by.
Graduated!
Posted 7 years agoIt's been a week and a half, and I'm still not sure if I've wrapped my head around it yet. While I feel pretty accomplished at finishing four years of study, I'm a bit sad about what I'm leaving behind.
Well, on to the next chapter.

2017 Review/2018 Resolutions
Posted 7 years agoOverall, I think 2017 was a pretty decent year. I have one main resolution for 2018: get over my fear of talking to people.
21 Today

Senior Year
Posted 8 years agoIt's started.
Anime Boston
Posted 8 years agoGot back a couple of hours ago from my first ever convention. Gotta say, it was lots of fun! Sure I spent over $100 and wrecked my budget, but I think it was worth it. I bought a cute hat and ordered a pair of cat ears, 'cause what anime convention is complete without cat ears? I went with a friend who had a neat cat costume, but he wouldn't let me take a picture. I don't think he trusts me.
Wow, I expected this to be a bit longer.

Happy Chinese New Year!
Posted 8 years agoHappy year of the rooster, everyone!
In other news, I'll probably do a sort of life status journal or something at the end of every month instead of at the end of each year, since that way I'm less likely to forget things. So far, just back on campus and still settling in.

2016 Review/2017 Resolutions
Posted 8 years ago2016 Resolution Review:
- Exercise: Mmm, I tried. I think I'm going to be slightly pudgy for the rest of my life.
- Be More Diligent: Also tried. This kind of varies a lot.
- Finish Writing a Story: Done under a different name.
- Get a Job: Worked as a tutor over the summer. I must say, it was a lot of fun and not as difficult as I thought it would be. I'd like to see the kids again just to check up on how they're doing. Still have to find an internship for this summer, though.
- Do Requests: Did one right here.
3/5 definitively done. More than half, so that's good!
2016 Reflections and Review:
Well, since my memory honestly isn't that great, I'll just list some important things in no particular order.
- I more freely bake for my friends now, which I'm quite happy about. Even though it's really time consuming, I really enjoy making food. The only thing I like more is watching other people enjoy what I've made.
- I'm rather concerned that I've become less stable and may be prone to madness.
- I tutored some kids over the summer, as mentioned before.
- I've discovered my mom has cancer, which is making me far more concerned than either of us realize.
- I want to be more motivated to do better in my classes. It's not like I don't want to do well, I've just had some problems getting myself to care enough. My grades this past year kind of reflect that (an odd mix of As and Cs with plenty of Bs.)
- The biggest one: I've discovered one of my best friends is a furry. He doesn't know that I know, and the only reason I know was because I happened to think about something he said and used Google and accidentally stumbled upon it. I kind of want to ask him, but I have no idea how, and I'm afraid he'll be weirded out if I tell him how I know, especially since I think we've drifted apart a bit over summer break. Oh, and he has no idea that I even know what a furry is. I've sort of played dumb about things like that.
2017 Resolutions:
- Figure out what I'm doing
- Be honest with myself
- Be less envious of others
- Add some more resolutions later.

Back Online
Posted 9 years agoFinally got my laptop back. Really happy that HP fixed the hinge. Somewhat less happy about having to deal with FedEx and having it delayed by nearly a week.
Below is some mildly political stuff. Feel free to skip it.
Wow, everyone seems so shell-shocked. There's an aura of gloom settled over campus, most of my friends seem sort of depressed, and I found a bunch of blue-frosted cupcakes in the trash. Yeah, last night's election was a bit of a shocker.
To those upset with the results: Hang in there. The States have been through plenty of hard times, and I'm certain there'll be more coming. Remember that Donald Trump will only be president for 4 (or 8) years, assuming things go relatively smoothly. This will pass. We will endure.
To those happy with the results: Um... congrats?
What's done is done, and we can't change it now, so there's not too much point in moping about. Just survive and everything will eventually calm down. Hopefully Trump will prove his detractors wrong and be a great president, but we'll have to wait and see. In the meantime, I'll be waiting in my little corner of the world, hoping that things don't go completely to pieces over this.

2015 Review/2016 Resolutions
Posted 9 years ago2015 Resolution Review:
- Connect with Family: This one's always been really ambiguous.
- Exercise: ...Trying again in 2016.
- Branch out a bit more with my art: I've given digital a shot, so check.
- Be More Focused: Hmm... what was I doing?
- Do Something Meaningful: Working with some friends on starting a webcomic; hopefully it'll be ready soon.
- Discover Myself: Why did I write this?
- Understand Love: Yeah, no, still don't get it.
2 out of 7 definitively done. Note to self: Make less abstract resolutions.
2015 Review:
Wow, the year's gone by so fast. It's hard to believe I'm already a college sophomore; it feels like it was just yesterday I was tossing my graduation cap into the air. I've managed to reconnect with a few of my old high school friends, so that's always nice. Hmm, not a whole lot else to say. Still drawing, still studying, and still living. My hard drive may have died, which still bothers me a lot, but I've got a new laptop (an HP Envy, which is hilariously fitting). Geeze, I sound sort of like a robot trying to string together barely connected sentences right now. Haha, anyways, I hope you've all enjoyed your past year and gotten to do some incredible things, and I hope 2016 will be even better.
2016 Resolutions:
- Exercise: I'm not giving up on this one.
- Be More Diligent: Study harder, try harder to get a job, try harder to keep up with my friends, etc.
- Finish Writing a Story: I have ideas. They just need to be written and shared.
- Get a Job: Mailroom worker is fine, but I need a real, outside world job.
- Do Requests: This one I plan to get started on very soon.
Only 5 this year? Well, let's not overdo it again. Anyways, like I said, I wish all of you a wonderful 2016!

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Welp, That Didn't Work
Posted 10 years agoTech Services couldn't do anything, so my old hard drive and files are pretty much out of reach. Professional data recovery's too pricey, so... oh well, I suppose. I'll just hold onto it until I've earned enough to get the stuff recovered. I am so glad that my roommate gave me the replacement; really saved me there. So now... I don't know. I really don't know. Those files were important to me, but were they essential? Not really. Can I replace them? Some of them. Does it still bother me? Yes. Can I draw? Probably. Can I upload stuff? Probably. Do I have the motivation? Not really. I just... don't know. What now? Move on, I guess. Just get over it and keep on going.
C'est la vie.
Oh, and have a Happy Thanksgiving, everybody.

Well this is a fine Firday the 13th... [RANT WARNING]
Posted 10 years agoWARNING! The following journal contains a very poorly written rant. Read at your own risk.
My Day:
- Overslept? Yep. Not that bad, but just the beginning.
- Hard drive died? Yup! Probably everything after's been affected by this.
- Important data lost? Pretty much everything for the past few years is irretrievable at the moment, including a lab report that I spent several hours working on and was too foolish to back up.
- Tech Services unable to help? Mhmm. They say they've been too backlogged since this morning and won't be available until Monday.
- Professor ignoring my extension request? Check!
- Didn't finish an exam? Couldn't remember enough of the text....
- It starting to rain EVERY SINGLE TIME I walked outside? Oh, definitely.
- Diminishing sanity? Sadly, yes, mostly developing paranoia.
My computer is practically my life and past. Without it, I'm... not really much.
Good Things:
- Roommate lent me his laptop for the weekend. And it has a pen!
- Roommate found a spare hard drive at his house that he'll bring back on Monday. Really good.
He probably doesn't realize how much this means to me. I should really figure out a way to thank him.
I'll probably disappear for at least a few days (not that anyone would really notice) until I can figure something out. Or something.
If you actually read through this whole thing, then I am so sorry.

Happy Halloween!
Posted 10 years agoI hope you're all enjoying your night of frights and sweet treats! Today's thrown more tricks than treats my way, particularly at work, but they're just little minor things. In fact, one thing that happened half-an-hour ago beats all that: I accidentally learned how to whistle. Now I can do it sort-of on command.
Other Random Things of Note:
A big thank you to
Sebastos and
CalexTheNeko who made me rethink about doing another drawing challenge so soon after the first. Had I decided to do one in October as I had planned, I'd probably be considerably less sane.
Well, thank you to you who stopped to read my rambling. Have a happy Halloween, and stay safe!
