hello Gimp furs, Im sorry i have not been active on the account. Ive been dealing with life and i honestly have not been in the drawing mood for years.. I also dont use GIMP anymore but use Kirita (open source as well) Gimp is still a very awesome program to use so i suggest you use what feels comfortable to you as an artist and never stop drawing!

what do you guys think of paint tool sai?

from an artist POV...

i like how the application is very lightweight and i love the strokes and the ink
i have tried numerous of times to get my lines like that in gimp but no success

with the new update gimp has, why is the brushes soo limited? what happened to all the old brushes i knew and loved? how can i ocercome this

also paint tool sai is an awesome program

1. it must be made with gimp, please no photoshop or pant tool sai ( altought they are very good programs as well)

2. please make it look liek you at least tride, ( lol no stick figures)

im makign this post becasue i want peopel to see how powerful and useful gimp is and it can do as many task as photoshop can? soo who is with me? :3

and also is there a way to "fix" corrupted Gimp XCF images? this will help not only me but gimp users everywhere

as you know i, upload tutorials onto this GIMP site, unfortunately, FA has been unfair to me as the resolution looks unreadable, the maz size an image could go ( to FA guides) is 1280x1280,

the tutorial i uploaded ( GIMP lineart tutorial) is by 175 x 1280, barely FA's limitation, i resized it and saved it, the image still looks blurry, even in gimp, after i scaled it, it looks blurry and unreadable so i dont know what im going to do abput this tutorial, if FA didnt have a "limitation"..

this is for gimp coloring tutorials :D

Hey there, I have GIMP 2.6.8 and I don't do much fancy stuff with it because I usually draw traditional. So I know very little about it or about /any/ computer image program except Ms Paint. But I just got a button making machine and need to make circles of a certain diameter for the buttons. And to put another diameter in that and center it. And I also need to know how to center an image inside that last diameter. This is probably elementary to you but I don't know what I am doing at all. Can you help me out?

GimpPainter is a mod or an "extended" version of the Open Source GIMP application, with some improvements by Y.Yamakawa.


Y. Yamakawa, developed a gimp patch (Mixbrush aka Gimp-Painter aka Gimp-for-Painters) which adds two new tools. One is an extension of the standard paint brush tool with some new cool features (bleeding, alpha channel mixing,etc.) that make gimp more natural and realistic. The other one is an extension of the standard inking tool, making it smoother and more sensitive to pressure.
