CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR FOUNDING OTTER!
General | Posted 8 years agoIt is our pleasure to share the news that our founding Otter 
has recently been engaged.
He was spotted with his now fiance at Fur Reality (2017) at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Cincinnati Blue Ash Ohio.
Word is he didn't use any flashy methods of proposing, quite the way to be modest I'd say but nonetheless his partner was speechless.
It is currently unknown if his partner has any sort of account on Furry sites such as FurAffinity, SoFurry or Inkbunny.
We've yet to hear any confirmation of such things from our humble leader but we will ask him whenever able.
After several observed minutes Sebastian slipped the ring on his partner's finger confirming that they are indeed now engaged.
Be sure to go and give him congratulations on a successful engagement, I know we sure will.
This has been a special report on the Otterly News which we will now be keeping up with.

EXCLUSIVE Interview With Literary Artist Lei-Lani

lei-lani! She's an amazing writer and easily one of the best ones I've seen as well. If you're looking for somebody to do an epic job on a writing project you can count on her to get the job done! Without further adieu let's begin.
* How did you start your career?
I read a LOT as a child, and the stories I read got my creative juices going, and I realized I really loved being able to tell stories of my own. Mostly I shared them with family and friends, but as I got older, I saw other ways I could write, for technical reports, manuals, grant proposals, business plans, and so on. I guess writing just always came easy for me, fiction and non-fiction alike. Freelance writing just became a natural career choice. *^^*
* How long have you been a writer?
Too long. It's disconcerting when I think about the fact I've been writing longer than most of the furry fandom has been on this Earth. *^^*
* What inspires you to write such amazing works?
I'll be honest. In several cases, it's the ideas my commissioners have given me. The furry fandom is probably the most imaginative, creative fandom in the world, and the abundance of stories, concepts, ideas...it's just so much promise for so many people. Sometimes I come up with my own story ideas and go with them. Usually it helps me to listen to a particular song, or musical piece, classical, classic rock, and like that. What inspires me most though is the fandom itself. We can do so much with so many different creatures, in so many different ways, in different lands. Come on, seriously? What fandom could be better than that? *^^*
* Do you enjoy writing often or in moderate bursts?
Definitely moderate bursts lately. I love writing but my heart truly has to be in it, or the writing will be forced and not my best. I don't look for perfection, but I certainly look for high quality in writing. You only get that with focus, determination, and above all else, the right mood.
* What is your favorite genre to write with?
Some have said I'm the Queen of underwater erotica. *laughs* But I also love fantasy, sci-fi, horror, Gothic, romance, drama, even children's tales. A story can come from anyplace and for any genre. I'm blessed to be able to write for so many of them.
* Do you have a least favorite genre?
Westerns. If someone ever paid me to write one, I just don't know if I could. Also space-opera. I'm just not that technical, and I'd have a tough time making things sound believable. *^^*
* What do you think is your best work?
I'd have to say "The Midnight Swim" (https://www.furaffinity.net/view/10983024/) is probably one of those that still gets to me. I read and re-read that one a lot, and the pulse, the flow, the characterization, the sex scene, everything just plain works I've had people tell me it's one of the best short stories they've ever read, and that makes me feel damned good. *^^*
* Is Lei-Lani solely the name of your oc or do you also use it as your artist name?
No, Leilani Perierre is just my OC sea otter.
* What warms you up to writing a new piece?
Like I mentioned, listening to music helps. Also, sometimes it helps me to outline my assignment, one step at a time, develop a plot line from start to finish, as a skeleton, then go back and expand. ^^
* Do you have any words of encouragement towards future commissioners or writers, if so would you like to share them?
You know, I'm going to have to quote a little from "Ratatouille" for this. Not everyone can be a great writer, but a great writer can come out of anyone. If you truly have a passion for what you write, by all means write it. It doesn't matter what it is. Write for yourself first, and don't worry about what others think. Above all, be creative. Creativity comes from our emotions and feelings. Use them in your words, and you'll never write anything bad. *^^*

ILoYO'S HEAD HONCHO IS MOVING!
General | Posted 10 years agoEeyup, pretty soon this Otter will no longer be a SoCal fur and instead will be an Ohio fur. It pains me to leave without the opportunity to meet all the Otters in Cali that I wanted to, though I plan on coming back for visits sometime in the future. It's been fun, well not really but meeting other furs out here sure boosted my confidence and social skills thought they could still use a lot of work... Hey I'm not perfect and why should I be? If we were meant to be perfect we wouldn't be unique. Hopefully I can get things done in time, if i had a bit more money I could leave sooner but I won't get my hopes up, I'm quitting the moving job I got anyway. Here's to hoping I can continue to serve as the founder and lead admin of the International League of Yifftastic Otters. Remember we're not just good, we're sexy!

General | Posted 11 years agoI've been pretty busy today sorting through submissions and favoriting some too.
120 submissions favorited and 11 pages sorted through.
Only 9 pages are left to fave but there's literally 1467 submissions to go through.
That includes what I've already gone through but with 9 pages that's 540 submissions that still need to be favorited.
After that it leave 927 submissions left to go through.
I apologize to those who want to have us submit artwork or photos.
At this time we will be unable to do so until we get caught up.
Hopefully we can get this all caught up before the weekend although I understand my admins may be busy.
Rest assured though we will submit photos and artwork we are requested to once we catch up.

Please make use of this opportunity to keep in touch when FA is down.
It will also mean a better way to respond to questions such as helpful advertising in the group or urgent matters to request help from others.
Please be smart of this and don't abuse the kindness or trust of others.
Such purposefully ill advised behavior will utterly ruin your reputation within the group.
Currently it is unknown what admins have Twitter so we will add those we know of.

I had an idea for a small comic but there's a problem.
I'm totally broke.
I was thinking of putting together a small team of hot sexy muscular Mustelids.
I'm probably gonna make it a team of Porn Stars to be more precise.
The name of said team would be the Masculids.
(Get it? Masculid = Masculine + Mustelid)
Well anyways I was thinking of adding some others to the team.
Of course this would be done using a point based voting system.
For every vote you get the more likely you are to be in the team.
The only builds welcome are Muscular but I may make an exception for Muscle-gut.
No hard feelings though but even if you aren't Muscular or even Muscle-gut you can still help.
Just recommend who you'd like to see on the team and vote for them.
Spread the word around and hope for the best.
Oh and one final thing.
I will have some characters made for this team.

General | Posted 12 years agoOkay I thought it should be a little more complex than just asking for a simple person or two to volunteer for the position. So let's try to work together here and make a test for possible Admins to take to see if they qualify for the position. Now since I've been busy trying to practice my artwork and earn money through commissions I couldn't come up with the questions myself. So this is where you all come in, I'd like for each of you who watch the group to come up with a question or two to add to the test, I'll see how many results come from this and put the test together using those questions. The answers should each be in your own words and I do NOT want you to answer them in the comments. Once I have put the test together I will send a note to all who wish to take the positions and have them take the test, like I said before you should answer it all in your own words and I want the most sincere answers you can give. I don't think I would trust just ANYBODY with the password for the group so I want to see who I can trust and who can't be trusted, not saying any of you are untrustworthy but you know how much Drama there is on FA and how fast it can get out of hand as well so let's not start any problems okay? I didn't get much,
No party,

Only one gift,

Even if I was sick from being too chilly.
It was great to me,
That's how I feel,
I didn't need a big party with a lot of appeal.
I worked hard I did trust me on this,
Sometimes I look ahead and think about what I will miss.
The thing's I will cherish the most from that day,
Will be all the nice things to me that all my friends did say,
I'm happy to have them yes it's true,
I'm so happy that I have friends like you!

Due to some technical difficulties the money will no longer be sent to the founder's Paypal account. We will discuss the means of collecting the money very soon.
We MUST know how many people there will be in this commission since the artist needs to know this information. The price is still $10.00 USD per person. Also please be aware you should work out who will be in what positions, it would be plain ridiculous for Otters to be fighting and bickering over who, where and or how to yiff. There will be a vote for what kind of scenery to be used in the commission the choices will be posted below. All participants MUST be 18 years of age or older no exceptions, no excuses! I don't care how many people fight or bicker with me about it it's not gonna happen as it is not legal!

I am hereby requesting as a friendly tease and as a fellow Otter, for our members to spread the word of this group to other Otters! I have an idea and I'm not sure if it will work but it's better to try and to fail than to never have tried at all!
For every Otter that joins there will be a small panel submitted, every panel is a part of a much bigger picture and once every panel has been acquired the picture shall be revealed, so let this be the motivation to spreading the word as well as meeting more Otters.

FEESHY FRIDAYS: On this day our members can either, catch, play, eat, swing, toss or even juggle fish in the group, although I will leave an extra opening for creativity, also note that this means any kind of fish, candy, wooden, rubber, or etc.

General | Posted 13 years agoHere is something another Otter told me, "Otters gotta watch each other!" This couldn't be anymore true than it clearly states. I am hereby requesting as a friendly tease and as a fellow Otter, for our members to spread the word of this group to other Otters! I have an idea and I'm not sure if it will work but it's better to try and to fail than to never have tried at all!
For every Otter that joins there will be a small panel submitted, every panel is a part of a much bigger picture and once every panel has been acquired the picture shall be revealed, so let this be the motivation to spreading the word as well as meeting more Otter.
To join this group you simply have to watch it, that is all. In return the group will watch you back.
Okay well this is going to be a little rowdy probably but I'm now officially looking for a few admins to help manage this group, please note the creator of this group before you decide on what to do, if you'd like to apply for a chance to be an admin note LordofFlamingRoses and talk to him about it, also there will even be a Skype group titled, The International League of Yifftastic Otters, this will be a place where many can chat and even roleplay with each other at the same time or if needed they can just come on in for some helpful advice, to add the founder to your Skype look him up, his Skype name can be found on his Profile Page! The founder of this group also would like to inform you all that he has a tumblr where he will post several interesting things and even Advertise some artists on Fur Affinity and So Furry.
