Back in action (this time for sure)!
Posted 10 years agoHey guys!
I remember writing a similar journal entry some two years ago, when I promised to be more active here and post more art on a regular basis, but then soon afterwards things slowed down again. In the meantime I've been writing a comprehensive Master's thesis on European wildcats, which (as science has it) took longer then estimated, partly because of a couple of unforeseen technical complications and partly because of me messing around with art stuff more than I should have had at the time. Anyway, about two months ago I finished my final exam (quite successfully, I'd like to say :3 ), which finally leaves me free for concentrating on art more than just every now then then like it was during the past years.
So I guess this time it's safe to say I'm back in action for sure. I'm currently working on fundamentals again to developing a faster workflow and improve the quality of my paintings, while working on my backlog of commissions. So, to all my commissioners (you know who you are :3 ), I've not forgotten about you and I'll notice you shortly, if I haven't already started work on your picture.
On other news, I've been thinking on creating a tumblr account for more frequent updates with sketches or studies (anthro and non-anthro) or anything that doesn't fit in here in the main gallery, if anyone is interested in such things. :3
I'll keep you informed of more news as they come up.

Still alive + Eurofurence 2014
Posted 11 years agoHas it really been a year already since my last update? Well, first things first, I'm still alive and kicking. Life's been terribly busy the past year, but the main bulk seems to be done and out of the way, with my final exam left in a couple of weeks (eek ...). After that I'm hoping to focus on more artsy stuff again, finally.
Meanwhile, I'll be at Eurofurence again this year. No artshow this time, for the above reasons, but I'll have a table at the Dealer's Den. Im right here, next to kitsunenyx . Like last year I'll offer a couple of high quality prints, and if you're lucky, you can get yourself some sketch commissions. So if you've missed me or want to get to know me, just come over and say hi. :3

General Update + Commission Status
Posted 12 years agoIt's been a while since my last status update, so I thought, I'd drop a few lines here.
Maybe some of you might have been wondering, why I haven't been open for commissions for quite some time. The reason is, I'm still working on my thesis for earning my master's degree, which I've neglected for far too long now, while concentrating on improving my art skills and lately also preparing for Eurofurence and stuff. So it's more than about time to finally get that thing done and out of my way. (In case anyone's interested, it's being about European wild cats (Felis silvestris silvestris) specifically about their choice of resting places in a frequently used forest area).
While this doesn't mean that I won't spend any time on art at all, it's keeping me quite busy most of the time. I expect to be finished by the end of the year or maybe early spring. After that I hope to be ready for taking on a bigger bunch of commissions again.
In the meantime, I still do accept commissions, but I have to limit myself to one at a time. So if you're interested in getting a personal piece of art, don't hesitate to contact me, there's quite some chance that I'll have a free slot anyway. :) Please use my commission form, which you can find here, if you intend to do so.
In other news, I've had to update my price list a bit, in order to stay within economically reasonable boundaries. You can find the full list here. Feel free to ask, if you have any questions on these.

See you at Eurofurence!
Posted 12 years agoIn just about seven hours my train is going to depart for Eurofurence, and I still need to get some sleep, so no time for a long journal.
Just wanted to let you know that after two years of hiatus I'm going to be at EF again, and I'll bring quite a bit of new artwork with me. ^^ So please visit my space at the Art Show or meet me in person at the Dealer's Den. ;)
Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow and the next and the other day!

900 Watchers! ^^
Posted 12 years agoI just noticed I've reached another little milestone of 900 fuzzy (or scaly, or feathery) guys watching my art here on FA. Even providing the possibility of not all of those being still active, that's quite some number. A huge thank you to you all, this really means a lot to me.
So, let's just add another hundred to that and you might even see my character naked. ^^ Now, if that isn't some motivation ... ;3
Expect some more information on my current art and commission status within the next days (kinda short of time right now).

Updated Terms of Service (ToS)
Posted 12 years agoI've found the need to go and update my Terms of Service (ToS) a bit in order to make a couple of things clearer as well as add some issues I find important.
Please make sure you've read, understood and agreed to these ToS before contacting me about a commission, thank you.
TERMS OF SERVICE
GENERAL
1) These terms are subject to revising, editing, and additions without notice.
3) When ordering a commission, please provide the following information: Your PayPal address, your e-mail address (if different from your PayPal address) and a proper description of your commission, including commission type, character info, expression, pose, background and anything else you think to be important. Please be as detailed as possible. If you have got any references (existing artwork, photos, etc.), you can add them as well. The more detailed your description, the more I can make the artwork to your liking.
4) All communications concerning your commission will be made through e-mail (imiak(at)gmx.at)) alone to ensure all information and communications are collected in one location. I won't discuss details of a commission via instant messenger, private note or public forums. Remember, this is not my PayPal adress, so please don't try to send money there.
5) If you wish to cancel your commission during the sketch stage you will be refunded 50% of what you paid.
6) If you wish to cancel the commission during or after the colouring stage there will be no refund.
7) I reserve the right to issue a refund and cancel a commission due to poor communication, rude or inappropriate behaviour or inability to communicate in effective English or German.
PAYMENT
1) All prices as stated in these terms are in Euro. You can easily convert these prices to any currency using www.xe.com or any other currency converter.
2) Displayed base prices are subject to change according to the complexity, difficulty, size and medium of each individual piece.
3) If you're first-time customer, full payment is required up-front. For returning and reliable customers I offer a partial payment option for commissions above EUR 120,-. In this case you may choose to pay fifty percent up-front and the remaining fifty percent once the commission is complete. After transferring the second payment you will receive the full resolution file.
4) I accept international payment via PayPal. If you're living within the Euro area, bank transfer is an option, as well. Contact me for further information, if you prefer the latter method.
5) If you're using PayPal, please don't transfer money directly to me. I will send you an invoice with the agreed amount.
PROCESS
1) Once type of artwork, motif and price are agreed on, I will send you an invoice via PayPal. I won't request payment until your commission has reached the top of the work queue. After your payment is received, I will start working. You will receive a first composition thumbnail sketch for approval as soon as possible.
2) Critique and redline corrections for commissions above EUR 60,- are welcome to ensure the best result. Commissions under said price are considered as small works, and thus time for revising sketches is not included in the price.
3) Changes will be made for free up to three times depending on complexity of the commission during the thumbnail stage. For further revisions I will charge an additional fee depending on the extent of changes. Once I have started coloring, I won't be able to accept any changes anymore.
4) I reserve the right to reject critique and redlines pertaining to artistic skill or style preference (i.e. anatomy, colouring style, composition, etc.) if said critique would reduce the artistic quality of the piece.
5) For full illustrations I will provide in progress previews if requested.
6) Completing the artwork should take between one and four weeks, depending on size and complexity. More complex motives may take longer to complete. Please take in account if there are still other commissions before yours in queue.
7) If you need your commission to be finished until a certain date, please inform me at least a month beforehand (or earlier for complex motives). Due to work queues I can't
guarantee to start working immediately after receiving your inquiry.
8) To see the status of your commission, you can take a look at the work queue on my profile page or respective journal entries at any time. I will notice you if there should be any longer delays.
COPYRIGHT
1) All copyright on the artwork remains with me, the artist. I retain the right to display the artwork and upload it to my online galleries. Also, I retain the right to produce prints or other merchandise of the commissioned artwork or use it in printed portfolios. If you don't want your artwork to be used for prints or portfolios, please tell me along with your commission information.
2) You are allowed to use the commissioned artwork as icons, badges, wallpapers and other personal, non-commercial use. You are not allowed to alter the artwork itself in any way.
3) You are allowed to upload a provided web-safe version of the artwork to your own galleries for non-commercial use. Please credit me, when doing so.
4) You are not allowed to re-sell the artwork or use it for any other commercial purpose.
LIMITATIONS
1) I reserve the right to decline commissions dealing with certain topics, including offensive and hateful artwork, extreme violence and illegal activities, or any other themes I see as inappropriate or don't feel comfortable with for any reasons.
2) Sexual themed artwork will be considered on a case-by-case basis and is limited to male content only.
Please make sure you've read, understood and agreed to these ToS before contacting me about a commission, thank you.

Now also to be found on Weasyl
Posted 12 years agoHey folks!
Just wanted to inform you that you can now also find me on Weasyl.
Actually, I already created my account last year, sometime around November, but didn't get around to set it up properly. I'm still in the process of completing my profile, adding more information and stuff, as well as posting more artwork during the next couple of days.
I'm looking forward to seeing you guys over there. :3
Also don't worry, I'm not leaving - it's an additional location, while my main hideout is still gonna remain here on FA.

Commission Price Guide
Posted 13 years agoAs promised I finally went and put a proper price guide together.
Feel free to ask if anything remains unclear, I'll do my best to clarify things. :)
GENERAL INFORMATION
- Prices as listed below are in Euro. You can easily convert these to any currency using www.xe.com or any other currency converter.
- For the time being, all pictures are done digitally. Default size is 20x30cm / 8x12" at 300dpi unless otherwise stated. Of course you can order a larger size, but prices will be
accordingly higher. As finished product you receive a digital file in JPG format. A web-safe version of the artwork (smaller in size with watermark) will be provided, as well.
- Before contacting me about commissions, please check if commissions are open and if there is a free slot available.
- To prevent any misunderstandings please first read my Terms of Service before ordering a commission. By requesting a commission you state that you have read, understood and agreed to those.

Official semi-comeback!
Posted 13 years agoOne of these days I more or less unexpectedly reached the 5000 pageview mark on this here profile of mine. And it only took me 6 years to accomplish! ... Well, considering the not-so-high quality art I started with all those years back and my frequent longer absence periods since then, I guess that's not so bad after all. But still, a long way to go. :)
Anyway, I guess it's about time to drop you guys a quick note and just say thank you for all your support so far. Usually I don't get to thank each of you individually, but I really appreciate every single watch or fave on my works. It's a good feeling to know that there are people out there who care for my work (hope, that didn't just sound as cheesy as I think it did ^^).
Also you might have noticed that I've started posting pictures on a more regular basis recently, so I guess it's safe to anounce kind of an official semi-comeback. Which means, I'll see to continuing my current posting rate and even will open up for a limited number of commissions again in the near future, but it's still too early for entering full business (there's still a master's thesis lying around somewhere that I should attend to sometimes, but that's another story that shall be told another time).
A new price guide / terms of comissions will follow soon, for those of you who are interested.
Stay tuned!
