Important Changes to Commissions
Posted a year agoHello everyone! I’ve got some important updates about upcoming commissions!
❗ Quick version:
Toons will now cost $40 each (up from $35)
A small batch of discounted paw commissions ($55 each) will be opening soon.
Commissions will now be opening in smaller weekly batches instead of one large monthly batch.
I am going to be a LOT more selective with which commissions I choose.
🎨 Okay, to elaborate: With the continuing struggles of various debts and financial issues, I feel I have no choice but to again raise the price of toons to $40 per figure. I know the price is getting up there but I’m hoping the quality of the work I’ve been putting into commissions lately warrants this change. No other prices are changing for now!
Batches will be opening weekly! This will hopefully provide people with more opportunities to get art, as now the odds of me opening closer to a pay day will be better and you don’t have just a two-day window every month to try to get in. I hope to create these openings every Friday so I can fill out the whole next week, but things may be a bit looser in scheduling now.
Commissions will no longer be purely first-come-first-serve. This past year, I’ve increasingly been taking on commissions that I overtly don’t like or have been bored by, and this year more than ever in my life have I done commissions that, upon completing, I simply did not want in my gallery. So, the process is now this: everyone will apply with their ideas and I will email them to let them know that I accept it. This means if you don’t hear from me, I’ve declined your commission. In that case, I’d suggest trying a different idea the next batch.
I know that this kinda sucks to hear, but I sometimes feel like I’m about to lose my mind when it comes to commission stuff, so this really feels necessary for my continued sanity as a commission artist (and I can’t really switch careers at this time). I hope you all understand.

A surprise problem with dental insurance has thrust me back into debt and I have yet more medical things coming up (nothing dire, I promise) which means I really do need that extra day for commission work, especially with a new schedule to work around. I really do hope to continue doing these later in the year, at which point maybe I’ll have set up some cool PNGtuber setup.
🌎 The digital world is feeling increasingly hostile towards adult artists like me and social media sites are just not what they used to be, so I’d like to re-emphasize both my adults-only Discord Server and Telegram Art Feed. These will likely remain the most reliable way to see my art and get updates on commission openings. It’s also a cool way to connect with me and fans, but you don’t even need to do that if you don’t want to, you can just lurk!
I think that’s everything. Now more than ever is a good time to bring up any commission ideas you have in the comments to see if I’d be interested in doing them.

January Commissions and a lot of other updates
Posted 2 years agoHello and Happy New Years, dorks. This is a bigger journal this time because I want to go over some stuff from the past year. But first, art business:
🎨 January commissions will be opening up on Monday, January 1st. Start the year right by giving me your money!!! Remember to be on the lookout for a submission with my commission info which will link to a Google Form. Also remember that members of our Patreon get early access to commissions so there's no worry about missing your chance!
📺 Charity streams return on Tuesday, January 2nd! This month, we'll be supporting the Cheetah Conservation Fund, whose "vision is to see a world in which cheetahs live and flourish in coexistence with people within a sustainable system that is protective of the environment, socially responsible, and economically viable." Toon and sketch commissions will be available live on stream and all money goes directly to this charity.
🖼 It was fun to see some people get excited about diaper art returning, even if the sales of that particular topic did slow down after the first month. It helped fill slots which was really needed after a somewhat rocky year in terms of sales. At the risk of warding off further sales I feel it's important to emphasize how not into diapers I am. I dabble in the fetish here and there but mostly when wrapped up in other fetishes like brainwashing and mascot tf and such. Obviously drawing it doesn't bother me very much, because if it did, I wouldn't still allow it, but I think it's important to state that I don't really want to talk about or tease people about diapers. I don't mind drawing it but I did it for the income, not because I was suddenly into it.
I'm sure this might sour the idea of buying diaper art for some people, but that mattered to you all, you likely wouldn't be commissioning furry art at all, because anyone who knows me at all knows how disinterested I've become in furry art as a genre as a whole. I've been in this fandom for over 17 years as of this coming year and I've had my fill of made up fox people. Again, don't let this discourage you from commissioning me, but if it matters to you what I like to draw, then consider things like humans, elves, orcs, goblins, or MLP art.
🧠 This was a rough year. Not too bad, really; I didn't get violently sick or experience the death of friends or anything, but a series of financial setbacks really got in the way. Move expenses, the IRS being vultures, that sort of thing. Things should be calmer now unless something new comes up. This is why I've been more burned out than usual and why things like personal art, non-art projects, and charity streams had to take a back seat for a lot of this year. I had a few important projects set as goals for this year that absolutely was not doable given t he time I had on top of just being more work than I anticipated. The main one is a semi-secret project that I'm sure a lot of older fans will really like when it's done, and I'm hoping I can get it done this coming year.
Been a rough year for my brain, too. I came out as plural around May of 2020 (I think?) and though it's still true, middle of this year we sort of... imploded? Or collapsed. It was suddenly a lot harder for any one particular headmate to "front", to exist in singularity. Stressful at first, but more peaceful now. Everyone still exists, but we've been increasingly vibing in a singular state. That's why our combined "Ash" self, the human/orc/gator/crux, suddenly showed up and started seeing a lot of light.
💼 Art business needs to change for me this coming year! I can't just do furry porn commissions forever, as much as I'd like to. I'm going to start trying (again) to branch further out into other non-art fields this year like writing, music, and video, but I also do have to keep up the art front so I'd like to build up a more professional portfolio. I think the smartest way to do this would be to focus on some SFW fan art. Once upon a time people would help fund my time for fan art, though it was usually NSFW of course. I may think about doing something like that again if I can hammer out the details. I suppose I just need to have things I can show to "real" art jobs, potentially in the world of comics.

🎨 On Monday, November 6th, another batch of commissions will open. Same prices as last time, so be on the lookout for a submission announcing their opening!
💸 I'm offering a discount on MLP related characters this month! 5% is taken off for each figure that is a show-accurate pony, gryphon, etc. and this includes canon characters or OCs.
📺 This month's charity stream will be raising money to support the Rainforest Trust:
"Rainforest Trust protects the most threatened tropical forests, saving endangered wildlife through partnerships and community engagement. Through these highly effective partnerships, we can ensure sustainable results necessary for the long-term protection of tropical ecosystems and the wildlife they hold. Since our founding in 1998, we have helped safeguard over 45 million acres of habitat for endangered species."

No September Commissions
Posted 2 years agoHello all! Quick update this month to let you all know that I will NOT be taking normal commissions for this month! I'll be taking September off to do a lot of practice and training for art, so I'm hoping to come back to y'all in October as a SSJ3- I mean, with some new skills and refined anatomy.
Patrons will still get access to commission openings and their stickers, and I plan to open up for a few YCHs at the end of the month to be completed in October.

Commissions Monday and other Pupdates

On Monday, August 7th, commissions will open! Same prices and routine as last time. If you're wanting to spend money but don't have any ideas, well, we'd absolutely love some more goblin content or some blank/null/zentai content if you'd like to indulge us!
In September, I will NOT be taking a normal batch of commissions. I'll be taking the month off for a lot of personal projects, mostly practice and training. It's a training arc, everyone! Reconstructing the hyperbolic time chamber as we speak! So if you're getting art this month, keep in mind you won't get another chance until October! Patrons will still get their stickers though!
There will also NOT be a charity stream this month! I've shuffled my schedule around some and I actually need that day for work. I'm hoping to get back into the habit when commissions resume, or maybe even in September, but this time I really need that day, especially with this Monday coming so late in the month. If you're one of the regulars of this event, I encourage you to donate to the charity of your choice anyways and let me know about it C:

Monday, July 3rd, I'll be opening for commissions! This time, Ref Sheets will be an option. Starting at $300, they'll be pretty involved processes with lots of WIPs and negotiations, so if that's something you want, maybe plan ahead!
Tuesday, July 4th, I'll be running my monthly Charity Stream. This time, we're going back to helping The Bail Project, which helps get people out on bail when they otherwise can't afford it. I'll be selling toons and sketches in stream so please come hang out and help support this good cause!

June Commissions & Charity Stream

On Monday, June 5th, commissions will be opening up. There are changes this time as we now offer sketch commissions at $60 per character. There's also an important change to our TOS: in order to include anyone else's character, their owner is now required to contact us with explicit permission.
On Tuesday, June 6th, we'll be doing our monthly charity stream. This time, it's in support of Lambda Legal, a really important group that focuses on the legal rights of LGBTQ+, fighting bills in court and all that! Because it's pride month, they're matching donations via Tiltify (the thing we use for twitch charities) which effectively means all donations are doubled this month, so this is a great time to see if you can give a little to help!
That's it for now. Happy birthday to every gay person 🏳🌈

My art website's a bit messed up right now
Posted 2 years agoHi dorks. If you're used to visiting xxx.immelmann.net to look at my high res art files, you'll find the links no longer work! I changed URLs to art.nx42.net but because of some tech issues I don't wanna go into, I've yet to figure out the proper redirects so that old links go to their new homes. So, be patient and if you need one of those old links, just change the URL by hand! Merry Christmas everyone.

Also, on Tuesday, May 2nd, we'll be doing our monthly charity stream! This time, we're raising money for the environment by helping The Ocean Conservancy!

I'm really, really struggling with workspace ergonomics these days and it kinda feels like my body is falling apart after too long at the work desk. I've tried multiple different setups for tablet, mouse, and keyboard and none of them work. I don't know HOW other artists put up with this, so I'd really appreciate seeing what other digital artists do!
