issues with 'image too large' thumbnails
Posted 5 years agothis issue has been plaguing both my secondary account, and this one as well now that I'm attempting upload my sketch compilations here.
I draw on a 100x150 cm canvas, so my sketch comps tend to end up being Very Large. FA seems to really flip out when it encounters this, however, as whenever I upload a large, tall image it replaces its thumbnail with a blank 'image too large' one. This appears to override any input from me, such as uploading a drastically smaller replacement thumbnail, or uploading the thumbnail first, then updating the base file the intended image (being careful to un-check the 'update thumbnail' box).
Does anyone know why this is happening, and how I can stop/fix this problem? because boi-o is it infuriating >:C

Me posting sketch dumps: yes or no?
Posted 5 years agoSo, I haven't really been posting my sketch compilations here?
However, I make a LOT of them, and they are fairly large and often contain a lot of interesting stuff.
Would you guys like to see that here??
Please tell me!

How might one go about making a fursuit head with moving lip
Posted 6 years agoI'm dead serious contemplating making a partial fursuit for Halloween (it all hinges on money though, and may not happen this year/in time for Halloween)
However I've gotten it stuck into my head that somehow making lips that pull back and slack forwards would be the awesomest thing and totally not way too ambitious for a first fursuit.
I'm curious if anyone has an good ideas on how to accomplish that?
The lips would need to pull back at the corners on command; the slack position could easily be accomplished through simple gravity.
My initial idea was to use some sort of clip attached to the corners of my own lips, connected to the suit using some sort of cord? But realistically, I doubt my lips would actually be strong enough to do that,,, being you know, lips XD
Where else do you think a cord like that could be attached, and be able to accomplish this sort of motion??
(I will note, I did consider attaching the cord to my shoulders somehow, and pulling my shoulders back to pull the corner of the lips- though I'm unsure how to disguise the cord without sacrificing its strength. would it still work if it was a little bit more loose, to fit under the hood?)
(If I DO purchase the parts for the suit, I will definitely experiment with this before furring it - and if I do find a way to make the lips move, I will definitely share that knowledge!)
(Also also if I do do order the mask parts, I will temporarily open commissions to help pay for the fur. So keep an eye open for that!)

monster sounds? yes
Posted 6 years agoWOWEE TAKE A LOOK AT THIS!
Here's some funky monster sounds I've made! They're intended to be the aggressive noises made by Devoratanimus, but could work for other large predator creatures too.
If you'd like to use my sounds in a video or other project of yours, please ask before doing so! And if you DO use them, please give me some credit in the description- ideally linking back to this video. Me and my voice box work hard to make these :D
(if you're curious, I did the pitch adjustments in Sony Vegas Movie Studio and the recordings were done with my iPhone 6,,, because I don't actually have a mic whoops)
So one of my skills that I never talk about is my ability to mimic animal sounds? I don't talk about it much because it's not something you really do in public :,D (some of the sounds I can do are Very Loud and/or would look really weird coming out of a human) However ever since I was a kid, I thought it was super fun to try and see if I could twist and bend my voice to make all manner of noises it isn't supposed to make. In the case of animal sounds, that meant even examining the anatomy involved in how real animals make them- doing these actually involves a lot more than just my larynx! (there's lots of chest/diaphragm action) My throat does start to hurt if I do them for too long, though ;u;
Also no I do not do this nonsense within earshot of other people that would be insanely embarrassing and hard to explain

FA resizing your images? I found a fix for that
Posted 6 years agoso you know how FA resizes any images wider than 1280 pixels?? well, apparently if you re-upload the source file (as in, replacing it with the same image as before), it negates this somehow and thus preserves the original image size!
just remember to un-check the 'use this image for the new thumbnail' button below when you do this, or things will get kinda weird. (or maybe not?? I'm getting a glitch with some images wherein they don't have a thumbnail upon updating the source file. I'm not 100% sure how to fix that? but I feel like this might help)
which is bonkers handy for people like me whose default canvas size is 100 cm x 150 cm hahaha ;D;
(I'm sorry if this is common knowledge? I only found out about it today, so,,,)
anyway if there were any artworks of mine that you found to have poor resolution, or to be illegible, uhhh take a look now because I fixed that :D
