I was so pissed I had to skip out last year do to school being poorly timed with spring break and all, but this year I am so very happy to say that THIS BITCH WILL BE THERE! Lucky for me the con fell right on the last weekend of my spring break so it worked out amazing timing-wise. I'll be there from Thursday-Monday so I expect to see lots of you people there <333

Late AC Report
Posted 14 years agoSO, AC was awesome! I can't believe how great of a time it was, and I'm seriously so glad I decided to go for it this year. I was lucky enough to be with some amazing people the majority of the con too, Bit and Feros definitely helped me keep my head on my shoulders, EVERYTHING WAS SO BIG AND OVERWHELMING!
Looking back, I wish I would've suited and stayed up more, but there was so much to do and so many people to see/hang with that my time-management was faulty to say the least, so I deeply apologize if I didn't spend as much time with some people. We partied a lot, drank a lot, and as Bit so eloquently put it "we dropped it low and smoked it hard." I seriously had a wonderful time, and a big thank you goes out to my excellent roomies: Storm, Feros, Bit, Guinness for showing me an excellent time, as well as literally ANYONE who I talked to/hung with/suited with/ danced with/made laugh, etc. Without all the amazing people there, I doubt I would've had such a fantastic time at my first AC.
I've already decided on AC again next year, I really like the difference between the small cons/parties I usually hit and something HUGE like Anthrocon, it's very humbling and a refreshing reminder that there's plenty of other people outside of our safe little peninsula of FL.
THANKS TO EVERYBODY I MET AND HUNG WITH AT AC, YOU GUYS ARE THE SHIT! :D

Posted 14 years agoOk so whoa, this weekend was ridiculous. I had a lot of fun and got to hang out with lots of cool people! I promised I'd make a bigger post about some details from this weekend so here goes!
I roomed with my homies
and this year and we got in around 2pm on Friday. We were immediately greeted by a huge group of people (SD, Arcana, Mangusu, Kendoro, Koze, Jynx, Papaya, Arix, etc.) and had a room party going and drinks flowing almost as soon as we had gotten settled in the room. Room 441 quickly became infamous for our red cups and drunk people, haha. So yea, Friday we all got super drunk super early and wandered a lot around the hotel. I got in suit very briefly that night but quickly decided against it because I was a little too crazy to be running around.
Lots of room parties were had, I stopped by that crazy shindig in room 200 for a bit, but unfortunately missed when the party was really bumpin', but I did get ahold of some of that crazy 'danger punch', oh man. Lots of celestial adventures were had, got to chill out with a lot of cool people that way. Saturday night Bit and I got in suit for quite a while and ran around and were crazy, in addition to Ambient getting in Trigger's Kona triceratops suit and running around and knocking over shit. Sassy also got hella drunk, much to everyone's amusement, hahaha. Saturday was also the day we discovered Mr. Magic, the giftshop wizard-donkey, ohhhhhhhh man.
Sunday was amazing with the water park and all, we had a friggin blast riding all the slides! Roamed around with Deke, Bit, Ambient, Sassy, and Ssirrus for most of the day, but we were later joined by Mutt and Santamoose! Later that night we had more celestial journeys followed by an adventure to IHOP at 1 am and had amazing breakfast food that I know I regretted that next morning.
Again, thank you to everyone that I hung with, talked with, drank with, partied with, etc. Everyone I met was amazing, I can't wait to see everyone again soon! I also got the chance to catch up with a lot of old friends that I hadn't seen in awhile, I promise I will come up to Orlando again as soon as I have a few days off, I miss you all so much!

Someone thought it was a cool idea to steal my 'warning:zombies ahead' magnetic bumper sticker off of my car.......wow....I won't lie I was kinda pissed off, and I know it was more than likely a furry that did it. ENJOY YOUR BUMPER STICKER YOU ASS.
Seriously though, I had a fuckin' blast! Since this was my pre-AC party, I KNOW that AC is going to be fucking off the charts! :D

I've been drawing dogs and anthros on DA since I was like 12 or 13, but I officially got into the furry thing when I was about 14, so about 6 or so years, whoa.

Haha, as I said above, I was on DA a lot during my pre-teen years and I really got into Anthro art and started reading more about conventions and costumes and things like that.
*What's your reason for furry (what interested you to get into the community)?
I love animals. Seriously, at the root of it all it pretty much comes down to that. I love furry for the artwork and costuming aspects as well, but it all relates back to my love for animals. I've been obsessed since I was a kid, my mom likes to joke that I would've rather had stuffed animals than Barbies growing up. My childhood was pretty much watching Animal Planet and pretending to be the Crocodile Hunter in my backyard and pool. Silly I know, but now that I'm older I am pursuing a degree in Biology because of the exact same passion for animals that I still have now.
*What's Furry to you?
It's a hobby for me; an outlet for performing and making new friends. And it's given me plenty of awesome occasions to party!
*If someone found out you're a furry and asked you about it how would you respond?
This has happened a few times before, haha. I'm not very serious about Furry as a whole, so it's pretty easy to just kinda laugh at myself and talk about it. I usually just tell the truth and let people know I'm not a weird or anything, just someone who loves performing.
*What are your favorite aspects of our community?
The art and costumes, definitely. It seriously is amazing the talent we have in this community. The artists and fursuit builders we have here can do some truly amazing work, and we should be very proud of that. For the most part, the people in the community are also pretty awesome, not to mention we can throw some badass parties!
*Do you use any furry terms? (i.e. yiff, paws, murr?)
NO.
*What do you wish furry was NOT associated with?

Like I've said, I don't think anyone should take any fandom too seriously. I've learned that if you're in something as goofy as furry you'll be miserable unless you learn to laugh at yourself once in awhile.

No one's really ever seriously bashed me for it, mainly because most people realize that I look, act, and dress like a normal mainstream person most of the time.

I'm not really bothered by it per say, I wish it wasn't so out in the open for everyone to see all the time, an example being people wearing bondage to furry events in public. My opinion is that what you do in the bedroom is your own business, unless it hurts or endangers someone else (children, animals).

If I had never gotten into furry I would have never gotten the chance to even know these remarkable people, and for that I'm very thankful that I did find this community. The fandom has taught me, if anything, that you can't take life too seriously, relax, and be cool with just laughing at yourself once in awhile. Life's much more fun if you don't take yourself so damn serious and just have fun with people.

Fall classes!
Posted 14 years agoRegistered for my Fall 2011 semester classes yesterday and today. Got the majority of it done yesterday but I had to wait for my permits to come back to register for biology classes.
For those of you who don't know I'm working on a BS in Biology, with a minor in psychology, which I know realize is almost fulfilled (HOORAY!).
My classes this semester are:
Physics II (w/lab)
Abnormal Psychology
Behavior Modification
General Physiology (w/lab)
I wanted to take Vertebrate Zoology but there was no way unless I wanted to drop Abnormal Psych, and that class counts toward my minor. The zoology class would be fun and awesome for me, but it's a lower level class and it wouldn't count toward my major, so I couldn't justify it.
I'm excited though! :D

Yea I turned 20 today, wish I could skip ahead one more year though ;)
Not really doing anything special today for it, but I'm doing stuff with my mom tomorrow and then this weekend I'm going to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal with some awesome peeps, I'm so excited!
