Nope not in the slightest. Got myself a girlfriend and a kid on the way so this place has been on the back burner for a good long time. I haven't completely left the fandom but I have less and less time for it. Will continue to post the occasional sketch or shitpost.

Just a quick message to wish each and every one of you a very happy 2019, may it be better than 2018 ever was. I know how new year resolutions go, so I'm not making one that'll be unrealistic. I AM making one to work on some sort of project every single day. That could be drawing, miniature painting, Gundam building, or what have you. Call it self-improvement if you will-- and THAT is a worthy resolution.

Had all four of my wisdom teeth out today. And it sucks. BRB taking ALL the Vicodin.

I just spent the last two weeks in California on vacation. Went to my cousin's wedding up in Santa Cruz and saw some family I hadn't seen in almost 25 years. Drank some really expensive champagne, cut loose for once in my life, and left early with one of the bridesmaids. Said bridesmaid and I are now hitting it off and planning for another get-together in a few months.

...damn, did I need that. The next time I get so damned angry and high-strung will somebody PLEASE tell me about it.

Real-time tactical game from the late 90s. Isometric, lance level command. Detailed damage model, brutally difficult. Destructible environment and forests you can burn down, features STUPID HARE BRAINED SCHEMES CAN'T PUT INTO A GAME TWENTY YEARS LATER but they can spend half their budget on a FUCKING PRONOUN SLIDER.

Anyway.

In an ongoing effort to improve my art skills, and, you know, find things I actually like drawing, I'm sketching up pilot profiles for all of the MechWarriors from the game. ...as waifus. It won't be furry but I'll have these in a folder in my scraps, the better to get some feedback on the project. I'm starting with Hunter, Lynx, Beast and Hawk, the four starting pilots from the game. (Hawk a shit, by the way.) If there's any interest in the project I'll continue it and maybe offer furry MechWarrior commissions. Yes, your OC can be depicted having unnatural relations with an UrbanMech!

Well, looks like San Antonio will be having its first ever furry con. Seeing how I live, like, less than three miles from the venue, I think I'll drop on by and see how things go. Might as well, right?

Should be there on Saturday. If you see a six-foot-three Asian guy built like a linebacker, that's me!

Just as a heads-up, San Antonio made it through the storm with hardly any damage at all. It rained heavily for a few days and the winds got up into the 40s, but that was the sum total of what we had to deal with. It was a close-run thing, though. Seguin and Victoria are less than an hour of here and both had to deal with significant problems. And we all know what's going on in Houston. If you of someone who needs help, please make it a point to donate your time, your money, even a spare bedroom if you can. This may be a storm on the scale of Katrina, but the human tragedy doesn't have to be. This is Texas. We help each other out. We Get Shit Done.

About four hours ago I was involved in a pretty gnarly wreck. Turning into a restaurant, I got broadsided by an Impala going... I dunno. Way too fast. Impact was bad enough to knock my car sideways and into another car, which took minor damage. I came to with a very angry Impala driver yelling junk into my window (broken glass) about how everything was my fault. He promptly shut up when I started bringing up insurance.

So yeah, my beautiful car is on a wrecker and may be totalled out. I'm not without transportation, this is more of an inconvenience than anything else. Just... argh.

 Rhurbo, formerly known as  yohc. He's been working with me for the past few years; I'm not even sure where I first ran into his work. That said I'm always happy with the results. Going through his older site you can see the rapid improvement in a short period of time. So, he needs the watchers and the commissions to go along with that talent. Rhurbo is currently trying to save up money for college and could really use the assistance from all of us. DO EET!

Hello everyone! For the past decade or so I've been messing around with plastic model kits, including Gundams and other assorted mecha models. Ten years ago the model quality was... inconsistent, to say the least. They were also very hard to find; I was regularly dropping loads of money at anime cons and GenCon just to have a few months's worth of product. Starting about 2010 or so Bandai really got its act together; both kit quality and availability radically increased. A few years later and you readily find Gundams at B&N or your FLGS.

I'm thinking about doing Gundam reviews as a side project here. Unlike my sketch abomnations its something I'm fairly good at, I just have concerns as to whether its 'furry' related. That said I see lots of other people posting up models from 40k, Transformers, and so forth. So...

I'll have one up shortly, as a test run. Let's see what happens!

Just got back from a week in Anaheim, catching up with long-lost family members I hadn't seen in twenty years. It's fun-- they remember a weedy, scrawny little teenager. Now they see you and they look up... and up... and up. Just the looks on their faces made the whole thing worth it. But seriously, it's been too long since I've seen all my other family members, and I intend to fix that in the coming year now I have the financial stability to make it happen. Let's see, other thoughts from the LA Basin:

--Everyone is beautiful and 3% body fat. That's envy you hear in my voice.
--When the sun decides to set behind the ocean it decides to set RIGHTFUCKINGNOW. It's like someone flipped a switch.
--...holy crap it was cold. Dafuq man.
--Breakfast at Tiffy's. Kind of a little hole-in-the-wall place across the street from Disneyland. Not very tourist-y, lots of stained glass and lamps everywhere, amazing waffles. Go there.
--Gas prices. Just gas prices.
--The Anaheim Packing House is one of the best places known to mankind. If you're within a day's travel of the place, you owe it to yourself to go eat there. The chicken tikka thali at ADYA, wow, I can't even. Follow up with hot chocolate from Dark 180 and you're a fat happy person.
--John Wayne Airport is one of the most user-friendly airports I've ever been through. Easy to navigate, food is good, and the TSA decided not to Intensify My Freedom too much. If you can deal with the short-ass runway and the yolo takeoffs it creates, it's perfect.

I came back with a head full of ideas and am planning to radically increase my sketching/drawing rate. Have ideas for a comic or two and I want to have at least some concept work posted by the last day of the year.

Taking a much-needed break, for the first time in more than a year. Will be in Anaheim for the next week or so, visiting family and friends.

...I'm tired.

So, does anybody here mess around with Space Engine? It's... not a game, per se. More of a planetarium. Basically, it uses procedural generation to generate dynamic star systems, based on pseudorandom numbers. There are no boundaries, no limits. You can start at your front door, go to the moon brb, check out the fuckhueg back hole in the galactic core, fly to the very limits of the universe, come back and do a few laps around Pandora, sideswipe the New Horizons probe and be back in time for dinner.

And the screenshots are EPIC.

I may start flying around, looking for innerstin' stuff out there, post up any spectacular locations I happen to find. If there's any interest in this, please let me know and we'll see about organizing a group of space tourists. First shot coming up in a few minutes...

I am such a lazy ass.

Just put up several months worth of commissioned artwork, all done by excellent people. Everyone depicted there will be getting worked in to a universe of my own creation (name a furry that doesn't have their own headcanon, heh.)

My time is no longer my own. I got a promotion and a HUEG payraise to go with it... and 60 hour work weeks. And headaches. So I'll post when I can, but that may be even LESS than before.

Heya. Can somebody please ask  kadath why he's got me on his block list? To my knowledge I haven't been a prick towards anyone O_o... Confused.

Sorry I haven't been around much, hopefully I can rectify that in the new year. Anyway, I hope each and every one of you have a safe and Happy Christmas and New Years. Don't do anything I WOULD do! :P

Okay then. So, we're back up and running (more or less) after four days, though I expect more downtime and updates to come. Don't know who it was, nor do I really care, though I'm pretty sure it wasn't fullchan or mainline Anon. Anon generally needs a Cause; lolgtfofurfag probably isn't enough of one. Fullchan is too wrapped up in their 'freedom of speech' schtick; something like this would come back hard on based Hotwheels and their affiliates. I have my suspects, but no proof. So the hell with it.

On a more productive note, I wanted to remind everyone that Planetfurry still exists. Had a thread going over there (I know, posting after 7 years gone) and we were completely unvisited by the drama llama. I'm not suggesting that PF will ever be a replacement for FA. However, it may still serve as a fallback position for us in time of dire need. Old members, you may want to check your accounts over there and bring them up to speed, just on the off chance they're ever needed. New folks? Yer quite welcome to come over and see what things looked like in the good old days :)
