The reason is that I wanted to focus completely on my studies, during the first half of that hiatus year I coursed the last semester of my major in computer science, and after that the uni offered me a pretty awesome scholarship to start a master's degree, so during the second half year I have been on my first semester as a master's student.
So yeah, I'm a bit extreme when I focus on something XD But it has paid off, and now that its not unknown how much time this new degree requires, I can juggle it with more activities.
So that's about it, glad to be back :D expect more animations soon c:

Great website to LEARN!
Posted 13 years agoJust wanted to share with you the website of the Khan Academy: http://www.khanacademy.org/
It has a lot (lots and lots) of video-lessons about many things, and it will only cost you time and effort because its free.
I have only seen some computer science, physics and math lessons, and they are really easy to understand, plus the instructor is clear and makes the lessons interesting :) And the site has this nice system where you get points and achievements for watching the lessons, feels kind of game-ish. Now THAT would be a great game to get addicted to :P
IT WONT REPLACE SCHOOL. ...well, maybe if... I mean, NO! Dont even think about it D:<
Though it does help greatly to clarify a lot of things you may have or have not seen, and learn many others :3

Every time I submit an animation, a few of you find and watch me (usually 3 or 4). This time 20+ watched me, and I dont think it was because my last animations, was it? The only reasonable explanation is that someone featured me or one of my works. Anyone know something about it? .w.

You start watching one kind of videos, and then you end up watching something totally different.

Sound on my animations?
Posted 14 years agoI have been thinking about adding sounds to my animations. I already looked for some and now I have a little sound library, but I still dont have one important kind of sound.

Now imagine how cute it would be with some sounds, eevee making a bit of noise while moving in the box, and then a confident "vee!" when it jumps, and then falls and goes all "...eeveeee~ D': "
And it doesnt have to be like the anime, with pokemons saying their name and such, it could also be like growling, howling and making more animal-ish noises. It could bring more life to the animations.
Well, to achieve this I need your help, so Im planning to hold voice auditions! :D
Thats right! Your voice could be in one of my already existing animations, or my future ones! And you dont need previous voice acting experience, this could be very well your first project! You just need a microphone and your voice! >u<
But before anything, I want to know if you actually like the idea. Suggestions are welcome :3

Im not sure if I will open commissions of longer animations, because the amount of work may vary too much between them (and the longer the animation, the harder its for me how much work it will take). Maybe when I get more confidence u_u

When I click the submit button, I see there are 5 types of art you can submit. Artwork, Flash, Story, Poetry, and Music.
Yet, when I click the top banner to get to the front page, I only see 4 of them.
Where's flash? Combined with the recent Artwork that is. So, something that could take weeks or even months of contunious work to make is submitted and gets quickly to the surface, and then, in matter of minutes, sinks in the sea of artwork.
Its not that I dont appreciate the work and time that an artwork can take, I know some pieces can take months! But if you think about the hypothetical case of comparing the time and work that the most complex artwork in the world can take, to the time and work the most complex animation in the world can take, you will see the difference.
It doesnt affect me right now, because most of my animations dont take long (the one that tooks me the longest took 3 days only). But the day I decide to make a short film or something very complex, it will sink just like any other short animation I have done...
My point is not about the "recent flash" section, just used that to give the explanation of my current thoughts, the real point is that art goes to the surface and sinks almost instantly, then needs to be found through other mediums. This may not seem like a big problem, but it is for the not-so-known artists, or the new artists. Not all of them are found by great people that feature others.
This issue makes me think, is FA prepared for a growth in the population? Or is this issue actually affecting the growth of its population? Is it hard for any of you to find outstanding artwork of people you are not watching already? The best way to find great artists is by luck? Any thoughts?

Posted 14 years agoDuring spring break I went to with my family to my house outside the city, and the internet there is usually sucky, but for the last month it has been so sucky its unusable :/
I told a few people that I was going to open commissions this week, but without a consistent internet access I wouldnt have enough communication with anyone, and for me, communication is the most important to make a successfull commission. So maybe I will open them after final exams, during the longer break~
I also owe some replies because of this same reason, I will get to them soon.
Thats it, happy Easter everyone! ^^
