Favorite video game?
It's a tie between Shadow of the Colossus, and Okami. If I had to pick one or the other, I'd say Shadow of the Colossus wins by a very slight margin.
First console you owned?
SNES, though I barely remember playing it. I was very young. x3
A game that holds a special place in your heart?
I'm probably going to mention these games a lot, but I have to say Shadow of the Colossus and Okami again. Okami because my name InfinityFire was inspired by the game, and Shadow of the Colossus because, well, it's what I would say is my favorite if I were forced to pick one.
Least favorite video game character?
Olimar from Pikmin. And not because of that game, even. I've actually never played it. I say Olimar because at the first FCN I participated in a Super Smash Bros. Brawl tournament, and the final round was between someone who played while in fursuit, using Pikachu, and someone not in a fursuit, using Olimar, and Olimar won. I really, really wanted the suiter to win, and Olimar took that away. I've disliked him ever since.
Favorite genres?
Action adventure games are my favorites, and puzzle games are great fun to play as well.
Video game character you've had a crush on?
Fox McCloud. I'm such a furry...

Tetris, on the original GameBoy. I remember playing it at my grandpa's house way back when.
Age you started gaming?
Very young. I was gaming on the SNES before the N64 came out, and a quick Google search shows that the N64 was released in the US in 1996. I was gaming before then, and I was 7 years old in 1996, so younger than 7.
Hardest video game you've played?
Frogger on the PS1. One of my very early gaming experiences, and it probably would be easy if I played it today, but back when it was brand new it drove me up the wall it was so frustrating.
Video game you've spent the most time on?
Most likely a Pokemon game, and I'm pretty sure the Pokemon game I put the most time into was the original Sapphire version.
Most embarrassing gaming moment?
I remember playing Super Smash Bros. Melee at my high school when I attended there, and I played a 5-stock match using Fox. I think three of my five lives were lost using his side-B quick dash off the edge of the stage. x3
Scariest video game you've played?
I don't play scary video games.
Most memorable gaming moment?
Beating Shadow of the Colossus for the first time. My favorite video game song is the track that plays during the credits of that game. Playing through that game for the first time was such an emotional experience, and the credits music brought that to an incredible crescendo. I'll never forget it.

Dr. Eli Vance from Half Life 2. Meeting such a smart and compassionate person would be a complete privilege.

Playstation all the way!
Gaming company you're most loyal to?
Even though I just picked Playstation over the rest, I'm the most loyal to Nintendo. A majority of the consoles I've owned have been Nintendo consoles, and I've played almost all the main Pokemon games.
If you could only play one video game for the rest of your life, which would you choose?
Minecraft. Even though I don't play modded Minecraft, um... ever - modding Minecraft can probably lead you to experiencing a lot of different kinds of gameplay, probably more than any one other game could.
Do you use strategy guides?
I've owned maybe two strategy guides for games ever, and I don't think I ever really heavily used either of them.
How often do you use cheats?
Not very often, and almost never nowadays. I used to much more than I do now.
Competitive or single player?
Single player is where it's at. In my opinion, video games are best when they deliver a message, and I think the messages they give you are better off being given just to you when you're focusing on the game and don't have other people distracting you.
Video game character you want to/have cosplayed?
I don't cosplay, so sorry, not much I can say here.
Ever go to a video game convention?
Nope, I've only ever been to furry conventions, and an anime convention once.
Hardest boss fight you've been in?
The boss in the final ending of Drakengard. The concept of the fight is incredibly simple - it's just two buttons, square and circle on the Playstation 2 controller, and you have to match the boss' inputs. They start out easy but they get harder and harder until the final sequence which is just ridiculous. I couldn't beat it by looking at the screen and matching what I saw - I had to write down the sequence on a piece of paper and look at that while the sequence prompts were happening on the screen. Gah.
Video game you wish you could burn from your memory?
The Nancy Drew PC games. My sister and I played most of them, and they were fun at first, but they just got boring as we played through game after game. It got so annoying how my sister kept insisting that we play them so often. While they weren't terrible, it would have probably been better had I never exposed myself to them.
Favorite gaming series?
Pokemon, hands down. There's not been another series that I've come back to more times than that one. New Generation comes out? Time to get the game and catch those buggers again.
Do you skip tutorials, or find them useful?
Tutorials are your friend. Except when you've played the game a thousand times already. Then skip them to your heart's content.
Best online gaming experience?
The first four times I ever took part in a Minecraft Hunger Games, I placed fourth or better each time. That's pretty good I think. Oh, and building a gay pride church on a furry Minecraft server was pretty cool too.
Worst online gaming experience?
My first Minecraft Hunger Games was one where I was in the final three competitors, but the other two had an alliance and had built a fortress in the sky that I had no hope of getting to without dying, so I quit the game. I was the best fighter on the ground but couldn't win because of a bullshit strategy by the other two players. While I'm glad I survived until the final three, the end of that game made the whole experience bittersweet.
Why do you game?

Water Damage Update from Home
Posted 10 years agoI got home a few hours ago and finally got a look at what happened at my dad's house while we were away. For those who didn't see my earlier journal, while my family was in Maine on vacation, a water line connected to the refrigerator in the kitchen of my dad's house burst and leaked water pretty much everywhere. This was noticed by a neighbor who shut off the water to the house but by that point the damage had already been done. I'd post pictures but honestly I don't have the heart to do so. The entire ceiling in the garage has already been torn down. Water damage is visible on three of the four walls in the garage, and there might be mold forming on one of them. All of the base boards in the kitchen are already gone. Thankfully there doesn't seem to be any water damage to the furniture in the living room or dining room (the kitchen, dining room, and living room are pretty much all in the same big room). There are a lot of dehumidifiers going in the kitchen drying out the wood floors. They don't seem to be warped, but I haven't taken a close look at them. Hopefully they don't need to be replaced. Along with the dehumidifiers, we have a number of heaters going as well, driving up the air temperature in the kitchen to 110 degrees. That's right, 110 degrees - we have a thermometer in there measuring it. Thankfully it's pretty comfortable in my bedroom on the ground floor. Well, as comfortable as can be with the air as dry as it is (and dusty from the garage ceiling being torn down not far from my bedroom). All in all, it could have been much worse. But it still came as a bit of a shock seeing the damage first hand, as well as emotionally draining. After a long travel day the weight of it all got to me and I broke down and cried a bit. I'm taking as much comfort as I can in video games with youtube videos playing at the same time to take my mind off things. Thanks to those of you who commented on my earlier messages about what's been happening.
Water Damage Update
Posted 10 years agoI'm still in Maine, but I have seen pictures of the garage and a video, and it does not look good. The walls in the garage and the entire ceiling will have to be ripped down and rebuilt. I've also seen pictures of the base boards in and near the kitchen and those will have to be replaced as well. We still don't know the full extent of the damage and likely will not until we get home. No news yet on the condition of the wood floors upstairs and whether or not they are damaged enough to have to be redone. Thankfully the overall condition of the house is not so bad that we need to cut our vacation short. We will be home Saturday evening. Full details will likely be given Sunday or early next week. :(
Possible emergency,could have extensive water damage at home
Posted 10 years agoI'm on vacation in Maine right now with my whole family. My dad just got a phone call from a neighbor saying he saw water running out from under our garage door. Apparently a water line connected to the second story kitchen broke. The water spread all over the upstairs hardwood floors, seeped through to the drywall ceiling and walls of the garage, and left the house spilling down the driveway. No idea how extensive the damage is, how long the water was leaking, or what other parts of the house was affected. We will be getting sent pictures and videos from inside the house soon. I will be getting home on Saturday, but if the condition of the house is worse than these initial reports are telling us, my dad may need to cut his trip short. Updates will be given as more information becomes available.

Posted 10 years agoI don't do this a lot, but I randomly found an artist on the front page of FA and liked what I saw so I watched her. A minute later she started a livestream so I wandered in there and she's drawing a dragon. If anyone knows me at all, you know I love me some dragons. =3

Opinions about new editing techniques I'm using in pics plz?
Posted 10 years agoI'd like to get people's opinions on the new things I've been doing to pictures I've taken while editing them in photoshop, specifically adding a border to them and adding my username in a corner as a "signature".

There are a handful more in my gallery if you want to take a look. Basically what I'm doing is taking a color that I want to highlight from somewhere in the picture and using that in the border, the blue in the example pic coming from Hollowhound's suit. The "InfinityFire" I'm putting in the corner not only tells people who took the picture if they ever get posted on other people's pages, but also hopefully would direct people to my page if and when that happens.
I'd like to get people's thoughts on these new changes. Is the border a good idea? If so, should it be bigger? Smaller? Same with the "signature", does it look good? A different font? Is the size okay? Feedback would be appreciated. Thanks! =3

More options for furmeets in SW Michigan?
Posted 10 years agoHopefully we've seen the last of the snow this winter and what snow is still here will melt soon. And with the melting of snow comes more things available to do for furmeets! Problem is... we don't exactly have anything definitively planned for when that happen. But we do have some ideas. And that's what this journal is about. Here are a few of the ideas that have been suggested so far by a few of the locals:
Topps Trade Center - At the last furmeet several furs brount MTG cards and played a game very early on during that get together. If this continues, Topps Trade Center might be a good place to go. I personally have not been there in a few years but would not be averse to wandering over there again to see what they've got in store, so to speak.
Address - 1609 Mall Drive, Benton Harbor, MI 49022
Hours: Mon-Fri 11-7, Sat 10-7, Sun 12-5
Point Blank Shooting Range - Definitely something different than the usual furmeet locations. If any of the nearby furs want to join the locals to rent/bring guns and shoot at things, this would be the place to do that! Range fee is $13, plus the cost of ammunition and gun rental fees if needed. According to their website the location also has arcades and billiards for those not into the shootyshoot part (like myself). Also, wearing ears/tails there might be... questionable.

Hours: Mon-Th 10-8, Fri 10-7, Sat 10-6
Sub-Aquatic Sports and Service A warning up front, this one's a bit of a drive to get to for those coming from the St. Joe/Benton Harbor area. But once we're there, we'd be in for another unique experience. $40 per person for scuba diving lessons! We might get a group rate at a better price than that if enough people are interested. The next class is Sunday April 26th. Hopefully that time isn't in conflict with anything. I know MCFC is in late March and GLFC is in late May, so no problems there. Probably not the best idea to dress up in furry grab for this one either.

Michigan's Adventure - I don't think I need to explain much for this one. Hopefully everyone reading this has been here before or at least heard of it. Best not to wear fursuits here, lest we be mistaken for paid entertainers hired by the park. From the looks of their website, we'd save money by buying tickets and parking passes online - $30 admission and $10 parking plus taxes and applicable fees. Who knows how much they charge at the gate. I don't - I haven't been there in years.
Address - 4750 Whitehall Rd, Muskegon, MI 49445. Another bit of a drive away from Berrien county.
Hours: Go here, it's too varied to list in the journal.
I think that's all the suggestions we have so far. Locals and non-locals alike, if you have a suggestion for a furmeet that you think the SW MI furs would enjoy, feel free to reply! We're always open to new ways to have fun!

Point Blank Shooting Range - Definitely something different than the usual furmeet locations. If any of the nearby furs want to join the locals to rent/bring guns and shoot at things, this would be the place to do that! Range fee is $13, plus the cost of ammunition and gun rental fees if needed. According to their website the location also has arcades and billiards for those not into the shootyshoot part (like myself). Also, wearing ears/tails there might be... questionable.

Sub-Aquatic Sports and Service A warning up front, this one's a bit of a drive to get to for those coming from the St. Joe/Benton Harbor area. But once we're there, we'd be in for another unique experience. $40 per person for scuba diving lessons! We might get a group rate at a better price than that if enough people are interested. The next class is Sunday April 26th. Hopefully that time isn't in conflict with anything. I know MCFC is in late March and GLFC is in late May, so no problems there. Probably not the best idea to dress up in furry grab for this one either.

Michigan's Adventure - I don't think I need to explain much for this one. Hopefully everyone reading this has been here before or at least heard of it. Best not to wear fursuits here, lest we be mistaken for paid entertainers hired by the park. From the looks of their website, we'd save money by buying tickets and parking passes online - $30 admission and $10 parking plus taxes and applicable fees. Who knows how much they charge at the gate. I don't - I haven't been there in years.
