I posted the photos I took over in my DA gallery, but there's a handful I took of fursuiters that I'mma share on here~

Posted 13 years agoI feel like I've neglected my gallery on here a lot.
Originally, the plan was for me to have a place to dump things I couldn't post over on DA.
It kind of evolved to include anything I drew that fit in with the general content of the site, such as my dog portrait series and the derpy Pokémon.
But then college got in the way of me drawing and scanning things, and if you look at what I've managed to post over on DA you'll notice that all I've been able to really share over the past few months has been photos of the various things I've adventured to.
Scrolling backwards through that gallery, I've only uploaded two stream batches of shenanigans since the derpy Pokémon sitting over here.
Between then and now I've shared photos from a cosplay picnic, three conventions, along with four WIP logs of costumes for those events.
I have actually managed to get some artwork done in that time - the two stream dumps that were last posted on DA were at the beginning of my sketchbook, and I'm currently running out of room in it.
Since I've been on summer break for a month now, I'll see what I can do about scanning things in.
But this kind of has to be done around the next thing I wanted to talk about.

Posted 14 years agoFeel kind of bad having to do this two weeks in a row, but classes do have to come first. Especially final projects.
I've got a pair of them that will be taking up a rather large portion of my time over the next week.
( They're both due on Sunday. )
One is an animation for my 2D class, the other is an online portfolio (remade from our midterm project) - the former will take a lot of drawing time, and the latter will take a lot of typing and debugging time.
Now, if I were doing the 2D project in Photoshop I could try to stream it, but since I'm doing it in Flash (which is a lot more resource intensive, I've found) I don't think that is a possibility.
If I were to stream it, the quality of the feed would likely suffer and I probably won't have screen space to put the chat window.
Anyway.
I can't really say anything definite on this right now, since whether or not I stream on Wednesday depends on how much work I get done after my classes on Tuesday (which will also be when I can more accurately asses how much work still needs to be done).
In all likelihood my workload shouldn't be an issue, but I'm throwing this out there now in case I get into project mode and fail to tell anyone what's going on until after the fact.
So, if I don't post about streaming on Wednesday, this will be why.

I will be home for a week (on the academic calendar, it's November 20-27), and then back off to class with a new set of courses to deal with (first day of class next quarter is the 28th).
With the way my schedule is currently, streams will still be on Wednesdays at around the same time (last class that day ends at 1), but they can now go basically as late as I want them to (since the earliest class in my schedule starts at 10am).
This will probably still be limited to about five hours maximum, as I can only handle Sharpies for oh so long (not to mention that I would still like to have some time to myself for things like a social life).

I also have music playing most of the time, and it's nice to listen to. ( The only time I really won't be playing music is when there's already something outside - you might not be able to hear it, but I can. and too many different music sources playing at once bothers me to no end. )
- > THERE IS A ~10 SECOND DELAY ON THE STREAM'S FEED. There's not a lot I can do about it aside from decreasing the stream quality (which I cannot do live), but I'd like to avoid forcing people to look at pixels. This also means that when I see your comments in the chat, it's for stuff I did 10 seconds ago. It's annoying and creates awkward pauses when I ask something and then wait for a reply, but it's what we're stuck with (for the most part, anyway). However, it seems that when I type into the chat it goes through to everyone at the same time (regardless of the feed), so if I have something important to say I will do that.
- > Because of the chat issues, I like to put friends of mine on Skype so I can talk with them easier. Don't take it personally if I don't want to add you - if you frequent my streams, I'll be more comfortable with it. I also have a handful of friends who go to the same college as I do, so I might have them in my room as well. People on Skype have to deal with the same video feed lag (but not audio, since Skype is a lot faster), but it makes for a much livelier conversation.
- > IF I SKYPE YOU DURING THE STREAM, PLEASE USE HEADPHONES AND MOVE AWAY FROM BACKGROUND NOISE. This cuts down on feedback and overhearing awkward things (like family drama). You will get some feedback from my end (since if I use headphones people in the chat can't hear you), but we don't want some sort of crazy feedback loop that cycles on forever into white noise. If I get too much background noise from someone I will ask that you go on hold until the situation is resolved. Also, using a headset-type mic works pretty well, since it doesn't pick up as much sound as a built-in or desktop mic (if you do this, please don't play with it - that broadcasts a lot of static to the rest of us).
- > BE AWARE THAT THERE WILL POTENTIALLY BE UNSAVORY LANGUAGE AS I STREAM. Usually from myself, but I try to keep it to a minimum and at PG-13 strength. I know that the j.tv chat has a censor (which I can't do anything about, so don't bother), but people I Skype in should remember that not everyone in the chat is college-age or older.
- > Keeping that in mind, I WILL NOT STREAM ANY MATURE ARTWORK. NONE. DO NOT ASK. Aside from possible bannings, I would prefer not to put up anything of the sort so I can avoid any awkwardness associated with preference, persuasion, or age. I would also prefer that discussion of anything related be kept to a minimum. Please don't make me have to remove you from the stream.

streams - taking a break & time changes [INFO]

As a few people have noticed, I streamed tonight (while it is past midnight on the East Coast, I still consider it to be Sunday - THE DAY SHALL NOT END UNTIL I SLEEP, I SAY).
I WILL NOT be streaming tomorrow (Monday) or Wednesday, and it's unlikely that I shall be streaming during the following two weeks.
This was a last-minute change on my part (hence, no previous journal pointing this out), but I have a pair of good reasons for it.
a) I'm moving back out to college on September first, and I really need to get my things packed (and go on a supply run or two). Given how long it took me previously to pack, I feel like this is the sort of timeframe I need.
b) I am getting my wisdom teeth removed on Thursday (August 18th). My appointment is for 7:30am, which is a full four and a half hours before I'm normally awake. I don't see myself doing anything except sleeping and drooling (except maybe eating pudding or something) for the rest of the day, and I quite honestly won't have the brainpower to do anything else anyway. For several days following that, I'll be taking strong painkillers in addition to following whatever other instructions I am given by the oral surgeon.
So.
If I can't get my things travel-ready before Thursday (barring any shopping trips), I'll have to take care of it the following week (given that I'm not feeling too terrible). This means that in addition to however I'm feeling from medications, I'll also be physically tired from moving things around (as travel-ready means by the door for easy loading into our van).
Now, streaming in the few days following my appointment would be very entertaining, but I don't think I should push myself into doing such things (besides, I already have a thing or two planned). However, if I'm not feeling terrible (and have gotten my things together) I will consider streaming.

Once I do get back on out to RIT, I need to rearrange when I do streams - the way my new schedule is, the new potential times are:
Mondays after 10pm (with an 8am class the following morning)
Tuesdays after 6pm
Wednesdays after 10pm (with an 8am class the following morning)
Thursdays after 3:30pm
Fridays at any time
Saturdays at any time except for 6pm through 9pm (flexible)
Sundays at any time and ending before 7pm (not flexible)
( my weekends are Friday through Sunday )
As of right now, my new time will be Thursdays at about 4pm.
The first stream under this time will be on September 8th.
Some important things to note:
- My schedule can and WILL change. - While I can change my classes around during the first week, it is highly unlikely I will. However, I will have to adjust for any new things that come up - mainly, weekly meetings that I can't account for because of not knowing their times. I will update accordingly once I figure them out, but they shouldn't conflict with my current choice (they may, however, limit how long I can stream to four hours or less).
- This new schedule will ONLY be in effect during fall quarter. - For me, this means September 5th through November 19th (my college uses a quarter-based academic schedule). Midterms don't have official dates, but final exams are November 14th through 19th and it is supposed to be quiet in the dorms. Because of this, it's unlikely that I will stream that week (not to mention that we are allowed to leave for break once we are done with our exams). Stream times during my fall/winter break will be decided once I'm back home.
- Because of my three-day weekends, I might go home Thursday after my classes. - If this happens, I will make a journal about it ahead of time and bring my camera home with me so I can stream on Friday instead. I will aim for this replacement stream to start at 8pm (so I'm not interrupted for dinner). If this conflicts with the reason I came home, then it will be canceled for the week (sorry, but I just don't wanna stream on Saturdays/Sundays if I can avoid it).
- I plan on getting a job on campus, and it might not have a stable schedule. - This is the major thing I have in mind when saying that my schedule will change. I only have so much control over when I can work, and scheduling for it can only really be bent around by my academic schedule. While this means that I'll finally have a source of income (and can, therefore, get supplies more often), it might come at the cost of not having weekly streams (at least, at a consistent time). I'll keep you posted.
If Thursday isn't convenient for you, please keep in mind that aside from the previously noted commitments and any pending changes, my weekends are open.
I did say that I'd rather not stream on weekends, which is still true, but depending on schedule commitments (and general level of boredom versus interest in schoolwork) I might do occasional weekend streams. They wouldn't be consistent, but logging in to see that an artist you like to watch work is suddenly streaming is a nice surprise, right? I also feel bad for the folks that've been in the chat before but can't set aside time during the week because of scheduling conflicts.
It's also possible that I might stream while I work on school things (outside of Thursday's stream, of course). This quarter I'm in an animation class and a web development class (these are the classes that run so late on Mondays and Wednesdays, respectively), and streaming while I work on those could be interesting. tl; dr
Fall quarter streams will be Thursdays at about 4pm, and will start on September 8th.
Until then, I most likely will not do any streams because I have to pack and will be getting my wisdom teeth removed.
As a few people have noticed, I streamed tonight (while it is past midnight on the East Coast, I still consider it to be Sunday - THE DAY SHALL NOT END UNTIL I SLEEP, I SAY).
I WILL NOT be streaming tomorrow (Monday) or Wednesday, and it's unlikely that I shall be streaming during the following two weeks.
This was a last-minute change on my part (hence, no previous journal pointing this out), but I have a pair of good reasons for it.
a) I'm moving back out to college on September first, and I really need to get my things packed (and go on a supply run or two). Given how long it took me previously to pack, I feel like this is the sort of timeframe I need.
b) I am getting my wisdom teeth removed on Thursday (August 18th). My appointment is for 7:30am, which is a full four and a half hours before I'm normally awake. I don't see myself doing anything except sleeping and drooling (except maybe eating pudding or something) for the rest of the day, and I quite honestly won't have the brainpower to do anything else anyway. For several days following that, I'll be taking strong painkillers in addition to following whatever other instructions I am given by the oral surgeon.
So.
If I can't get my things travel-ready before Thursday (barring any shopping trips), I'll have to take care of it the following week (given that I'm not feeling too terrible). This means that in addition to however I'm feeling from medications, I'll also be physically tired from moving things around (as travel-ready means by the door for easy loading into our van).
Now, streaming in the few days following my appointment would be very entertaining, but I don't think I should push myself into doing such things (besides, I already have a thing or two planned). However, if I'm not feeling terrible (and have gotten my things together) I will consider streaming.

Once I do get back on out to RIT, I need to rearrange when I do streams - the way my new schedule is, the new potential times are:
Mondays after 10pm (with an 8am class the following morning)
Tuesdays after 6pm
Wednesdays after 10pm (with an 8am class the following morning)
Thursdays after 3:30pm
Fridays at any time
Saturdays at any time except for 6pm through 9pm (flexible)
Sundays at any time and ending before 7pm (not flexible)
( my weekends are Friday through Sunday )
As of right now, my new time will be Thursdays at about 4pm.
The first stream under this time will be on September 8th.
Some important things to note:
- My schedule can and WILL change. - While I can change my classes around during the first week, it is highly unlikely I will. However, I will have to adjust for any new things that come up - mainly, weekly meetings that I can't account for because of not knowing their times. I will update accordingly once I figure them out, but they shouldn't conflict with my current choice (they may, however, limit how long I can stream to four hours or less).
- This new schedule will ONLY be in effect during fall quarter. - For me, this means September 5th through November 19th (my college uses a quarter-based academic schedule). Midterms don't have official dates, but final exams are November 14th through 19th and it is supposed to be quiet in the dorms. Because of this, it's unlikely that I will stream that week (not to mention that we are allowed to leave for break once we are done with our exams). Stream times during my fall/winter break will be decided once I'm back home.
- Because of my three-day weekends, I might go home Thursday after my classes. - If this happens, I will make a journal about it ahead of time and bring my camera home with me so I can stream on Friday instead. I will aim for this replacement stream to start at 8pm (so I'm not interrupted for dinner). If this conflicts with the reason I came home, then it will be canceled for the week (sorry, but I just don't wanna stream on Saturdays/Sundays if I can avoid it).
- I plan on getting a job on campus, and it might not have a stable schedule. - This is the major thing I have in mind when saying that my schedule will change. I only have so much control over when I can work, and scheduling for it can only really be bent around by my academic schedule. While this means that I'll finally have a source of income (and can, therefore, get supplies more often), it might come at the cost of not having weekly streams (at least, at a consistent time). I'll keep you posted.
If Thursday isn't convenient for you, please keep in mind that aside from the previously noted commitments and any pending changes, my weekends are open.
I did say that I'd rather not stream on weekends, which is still true, but depending on schedule commitments (and general level of boredom versus interest in schoolwork) I might do occasional weekend streams. They wouldn't be consistent, but logging in to see that an artist you like to watch work is suddenly streaming is a nice surprise, right? I also feel bad for the folks that've been in the chat before but can't set aside time during the week because of scheduling conflicts.
It's also possible that I might stream while I work on school things (outside of Thursday's stream, of course). This quarter I'm in an animation class and a web development class (these are the classes that run so late on Mondays and Wednesdays, respectively), and streaming while I work on those could be interesting. I've got to finish cosplay armor by Friday, and so I'm in a bit of a crunch.
I don't think I'll have Wednesday to work on it either (and, by extension, stream), so I really only have two more days to get it all finished up.
Anyway, pictures of that (and the event it's for, which is on Sunday) will be photodumped (just on DA, since it has no place over here) once I get home and transfer them to my laptop.

I don't wanna have to use a webcam, but a decent camcorder is not a cheap thing.
