Even though base life sounds balls after being on actual vacation for three weeks, it has to be better than the last base.

ADVENTURE

I am being moved to my next navy school and have just landed back at my home in Kansas. Gonna hang with my folks for a bit and then drive straight to California, hang with my brodogg favlaud for a while and then finally make my way to to my next training base in San Diego, where I will be spending six months and then they can put me on a base with boats I actually get to work on.
So you won't see me drawing all that much (not like that's not a current theme anyways) until I finish this adventure and settle in at my new base.

Or something of that caliber. So yeah, spending my 22nd birthday hangin' out over at blinktown.

Oh man so my adventure to get out here was a hoot. I got an adapter from car to three-prong ac so I can hook up my laptop and use it as a music player on the road, great idea, right? So, out of all the parts that could mess up in this situation, the most important one does. The outlet in my car stops functioning. So not only can I not run my computer, but I can't charge my old mp3player, my phone, or my GPS. I don't realize this until later, so I am half way to Michigan, two hours left to go, and about twenty minutes of battery life. I'm bad at memorizing routes, so the challenge begins. I had to turn it on and off at different intervals turns and such, bleeding it right to the end, where it turns off a couple of blocks from her house. Mission successful, but now I gotta get that shit fixed before I take off across the country in two weeks.

1014: Wake up and suit up, find a doodle I probably agreed to sketch up whilst in a tired stupor
1030: Get to see the order list, 60+ orders, 7 of which are for schools in San Diego. Knowing of my mediocre grades and order picking based on that my hopes die a little.
1045: I GET THE LAST ORDER FOR SAN DIEGO working on MK-92 system on Frigates. Not only do I get best coast guaranteed, but I am also for sure going to be on a small boat, both things that I wanted real real bad.

So five of us navy clowns crammed into my Civic and drove to Milwaukee to see Flogging Molly.

2) This was my first actual concert.
3)oooooooh man did I pick one hell of a concert to be my first.

We were hella late because our class shift is gay as hell, but right on time for Other Band #2 to play their finale and start setting up for the band everyone came for. I figured since it was my first I was going to stay near the back and just nod my head like a big lame. Oh man I was totally wrong. A push and a few shoves later I was ten feet away from the stage being crammed up against the inner layers of people. I thought "Oh hey so this is moshpits business." Oh man I was totally wrong. After a few songs in the crush zone I backed into THE RING OF BATTLE. I held a passive stance at first but worked to an aggressive defensive working once I got my wings. I mostly played supportive roles as I learned them, assisted a few crowd surfers from ground to on the waves, got/kept everyone on their feet that I could, and formed a few shoe tying circles from time to time. I didn't drink any because I have no intention to drink with sailors, was on an empty stomach, was a virgin liver, was the designated driver, and am saving that shit for AWA. Anyways, I had a fucking blast and I need a shower real bad because I was covered in sweat and I'm pretty sure less than half of it belonged to me.

Soooo everything is up and running again!
Basically had to get everything emergency backed up and reformat this beast. Everything important was saved honestly she needed a cleaning.

Started a new school, we have to stick to a slow pace and it is boring to the point of excruciating. I bring my big deck of sharpies everyday and me and Sharp just doodle in the back of class. I'm going to get a day off work because me and my pal Garoutte made a gigantic snow ship in front of our barracks and all of the leader guys love the hell out of the thing.

Reporting from a roommate's computer while he is away.
So my beast finally gave me trouble for the first time. (I was like half an hour away from finishing a really nice looking pic too, I did get an instincts-save before though, so yay) She shut down and started cycle booting (restarts over and over ad infinitum) yesterday at about two in the morning. The guys I gave her to also have one of my externals and are going to be putting on all salvagable files from the harddrive; if that's the problem. According to the symptoms it's either the harddrive, OS, or motherboard, but I won't know anything until they do a full diagnostic and contact me about the results.

So, long story short, I'm gonna be almost completely offline for at most a couple of weeks. (I don't know the details yet, I'll try and keep you all updated)

Now then, I got some serious FFTA2 and testin' these new markers to do. I'll be seein' you cool cats on the flipside.

So the trip back was the slowest saddest thing ever. Didn't get sleepy at all so I didn't have to drive with my knees.

That was the greatest weekend of my entire existence and goodness fuckin' golly I cannot wait to do more things like this.

IT WAS LIKE SKYPE FOR FOUR STRAIGHT DAYS IN 3D. <holds journal closer to and farther away from screen>

I got to hang with some of the coolest cats on the planet; including:  blink,  pcaduck,  corruptchimera,  kasedilla,  vjohnson,  chupca,  kaemantis,  lizsan, and all the awesome dudes from the cool side of Angry Viking Press.
pcaduck knows fucking everybody, and was able to score me like a hundred dollars worth of sketches for twenty-five bucks. Him and Yad were also the rad cats that got me in for free and made me artist alley "staff" for the first con I've ever been to.
Hanging out with Angry Viking Press was a hoot and a holler and then some. They got conned (oh god pun) into running not one, but two art jams they were not told of and that lead to all kinds of good times. Oh, an art jam is where they spread out huge rolls of paper on tables and spread a bunch of markers and pens out. This one random guy was talking about good pokemorphs he had seen. So I smiled, drew my Anorith and Pineco, and blew. his. mind. At the end of the second one pcaduck started broadcasting chupca's thoughts over the microphone and it was fucking hilarious. All that time has inspired the living fuck out of me and I am just filled with design mojo right now.
Like a jackass, I didn't print any references so I whipped out a Confetti ref with borrowed materials and was able to use that thing to rake in nine Confettis in my first ever con book. I shall be throwing those into my scraps later.
I got to help host the WoW panel with the rest of the Krakenmaw (like three quarters of my guild was at that con/panel) and it was a hoot. Even though I was quiet most of the time I spewed my few stories and jokes I had.

Amazing cosplays and cosplay situations we got to see: An awesomely accurate and adorable Eiko from ff9; a full set of power rangers that were in character and making all kinds of goofy poses in pictures; Pyramid head walking around eating pizza; A cheerleading convention was going on saturday and there was this chick in a Pedobear suit that was joining the fun and was in the background of most of their group pictures; not one, but two Lady Gagas; a lunch table that had a bunch of awesome Silent Hill monsters and an accurate Kuwabara was eating with them; and last, but definitely not least, an extremely accurate and horrifically in character Hard Gay.

The only bad thing about Ohayocon was the goodbyes. pcaduck was whipping out every con story he could muster to keep us there as long as possible, but we had sleep to get for long drives and planes to catch the following morning.
And I had to drive back to the most annoying roommate ever and a base that is horrible.
I miss you guys soooooo much right now.

So hello from Ohio!
I am chilling in a hotel room with  blink,  corruptchimera,  vjohnson, and last but definitely least,  chupca.

So, my adventures were long and strenuous. I was headin' up this one interstate through michigan and I took this turn swerve all out spin into the ditch. The car was fine, I was fine, everyone was worried to all hell and my wallet took a hit to get a tow out of said ditch. So I eventually end up in lansing, get to meet blink and corruptchimera's twofaced roommate Matt. I cooked up all the shrinkydink keychains I had and they turned out awesome.
Oh! And  pcaduck and  kasedilla just got here so we're all gonna go hang out with those folks.
GIGGLE ROOM SIGNING OFF

Gather 'round childrenen. For old man Trudy has a tale to weave.
So I've been working on this leave chit for around a week. My mentors and higher-ups understand where I am coming from and are pulling for me from the start. The thing avoids contact and radar for a while, when I talk to them about it it still has not moved from that office. We have two days until the leave is supposed to start. I ask MC1 about the thing around every corner and it makes it's way to Chief's desk by the end of the day. The leave was supposed to start at end of shift today. I started bugging MC1 again about the thing in the morning and Chief has not yet come into work. Chief doesn't show up until' about two hours later then when he was supposed to. I talk to MC1 again and he says Chief is up in his office and it really doesn't look good. I decide to check on it myself, Chief apparently didn't want them to let me go up there but they didn't specifically tell me this, so I went on instinct. Chief really didn't like me showing up at that office, but he tells me that he is working on it and is going to route it really soon, with a "I'll take care of it" and sends me on my way. So I go back to worrying and waiting, I start filling out my backup plan and I see Chief and MC1 leave the building together with a blue folder that you can just feel is the right one. More worrying and waiting later, I go check in on it and MC1 has returned, I got the signature from Senior Chief but everyone in that office giggled because I was taking leave for a convention but I got it. Chief was still away running it to a Lt. for the final signature. I was told to sit tight, as this might have worked but would be kind of late. So I wait quite a bit more and check in again. Chief's gone and we can't find the chit anywhere. FC2, the duty guy has no idea what I'm talking about, so we call chief, he says it's at the main quarterdeck, call the main quarterdeck, they don't have it, call chief, he calls the main quarterdeck, he calls us. They lost it. So Chief organizes to have a new leave chit made and signed and routed within the course of an hour as a replacement. I jump through those hoops and finally, everything is set in stone and I am signed out of this base for leave.

This journal is here to inform you all of my absence for Ohayocon 10 and as a testament to the coolest LPO and LCPO in the whole fucking navy, MC1 and STGC.

Now then, I must be getting some rest, as I have to drive to michigan, pick up blink and corruptchimera then make our way to Ohio.

So, I'm trying to attend Ohayocon 2010 this year and boy howdy does the navy want to say different. I'm whipping out every trick I have to get to go to this thing; but the biggest obstacle in my way is that I need to graduate this self-paced school thing at a rate that is "Not really reasonable." Only the tone I was given was when asking was all "lolnever," so any and all odds are against me. I've found and have full intentions to manipulate any and all resources available and I'm pretty sure I can pull off the task ahead of me.
So, s'been a while since I posted a thing and I'm afraid I am going to have to keep it that way. Gonna be avoidin' contact while I go hermit mode for a bit to kick this school's ass too, so wish me luck, because hot christ on a cracker do I need it right now.

Oh man, this year has been so fucking awesome, I can only hope this next one is going to be half as flippin' sweet.

I started drawing around a year and a half ago, so 2009 encompasses the bulk of my artistic pipeline. I've collected this amazing circle of friends that are all kinds of awesome and I would easily throw myself under a bus for these guys. I've learned so much from them in a lot of aspects of life other than drawing.

My adventures online with the PCA have been all kinds of crazy and amazing. Anything from a team of lesbian reporters in a Moby Dick-esque hunt for a gigantic lake fish to God and the living dead in an epic snowball war against the abominable snowman and his changeling sidekick.

My naval career has been all kinds of retarded. Two years of one of the hardest schools in the history of education, some call it the nuclear navy. But, what-the-fuck-ever I'm still gettin' paid.

Anyways, I'd like to thank everyone that watches me, everyone that's ever liked my work, and especially the rest of the goofballs in giggle crew. Except for Favlaud. You know what you did.

Welp, good show folks, I had a lot of fun, and drew like four of my kids' moms. Which is totally rad, especially because Fav wasn't here. Don't have any clue when the next show ought to be, so keep a look out.
