I still exist!
Posted 3 years agoI haven't been inspired to write in a bit due to stresses with work as well as other side projects, but I'm back at it! I'll be probably uploading chapter 2 of Electronic Antiquary, where it'll finally start getting interesting. Can't say more, though; you'll just have to read and find out!
I'm back! (and a week late with this)
Posted 3 years agoI figured I'd say what's up here.
I am working on no schedule at all presently! I write chapters when I feel like it, and I release them when I feel that they're done.
None of this is spoilery, don't worry.
This story was originally a different story (around 200 years after the world-ending event(s)) way long ago. That character was intentionally quite villainous and had everything going for him. While I want to write a villain character (and that's what Edelis will likely be to some extent whenever/if ever she comes back), the story as a whole felt incredibly contrived. I noticed while writing the outline that each major point felt more like a history book's timeline than anything, and I was struck with magical inspiration: the characters of any post-apocalypse are already fighting echoes of a disaster. Why not more? The disasters of the original event quaked existence, sure, but what if another force made ripples in the world at large?
Then another story was written up (and chapter 1 was even put on a subreddit at one point), but that's been abandoned in favor of what we're seeing now.
To wrap it up, I want to toot my own horn and let it to be known that I work on worldbuilding when bored at work. I'm very often very bored at work. The structure of this world is stable as concrete. k BYE!

Chapter 4 and a note about Chapter 1
Posted 6 years agoI'm working on Chapter 4 now but have no clue when it will be done. With finals week coming up and a vacation just after that, expect it in about a week. Also, it's been pointed out to me that I had confused the jobs in chapter 1. She had taken the farmer's job but I then had her do the mining company's job. I fixed it.
Chapter 3 reupload
Posted 6 years agoSo awkwardly… I didn’t mean to upload that chapter and it needs heavy reworking, so that’s what’s going to be happening. I deleted it and will reupload it tonight (I think)
Chapter 3
Posted 6 years agoIt never really occurred to me that being able to get a chapter out a week early would be such a curse as this, for now the deadline for the next chapter has sneaked up on me well. I've started actually typing it out (I've had the outline done since Tuesday), but it still stands that the realization of the impending due date hit me like a truck. I'm excited for the effects of this chapter's events on Edelis's story and her view of the world.
Chapter 2
Posted 6 years agoYeaaaah, definitely not going to be done in an hour and a half. In fact, I have typed none of it. That's not to say that work has not been done; I simply have not started actually putting my fingers to the keyboard on chapter 2. I'll try and get it out by this weekend, or maybe next monday. It depends how I feel about the chapter's progression and importance.
Storywriting
Posted 6 years agoChapter 1 has been uploaded, huzzah! And alongside a picture of Edelis Roth in her adventuring gear. I'm headed home for Thanksgiving break. That means more time to write stories but much less desire to do anything besides lounge. I'll definitely start work on chapter 2 during the break, but it probably won't be uploaded by next Monday. Maybe it will. Who knows?
Storywriting
Posted 6 years agoAs you can see, I have little done in means of a profile or, for that matter, any structure regarding this endeavor of mine. The first chapter will be done by the end of the weekend and should be uploaded by no later than 3 AM (EST) on Monday. I have someone who is drawing Edelis for me; that will be uploaded possibly before the first chapter is even uploaded. Thanks for your patience!
