More Flood Info
Posted 9 years agoAs of 9/25, it has been made official. I am homeless.
An offer was made to my sister to purchase the home from her, someone counteroffered a better deal, and she took it. With my current job, there is no way that I can afford purchasing a new house until 2 years from now. And no amount of temporary housing can help in this situation.
FEMA has denied me a total of 3 times because I am in that range of either making too much money over the poverty line or making too little money to qualify for a SBA loan.
I have been spending the last 2 weeks applying for every job in the world, but with the economic situation here in Louisiana, companies are not hiring. I have been given a 200 mile radius from what was home to search for new living quarters by my girlfriend, and have also applied for jobs in each area. So far, out of 600 applications, I have only heard back from 2 of them.
So I, again, reach out to the community. Please help. I have lost all hope in everything.

Flood Info
Posted 9 years agoIf you haven't heard, there was a massive flood in Louisiana that displaced over 70K people and destroyed more than 12K homes.
My home was one of those. I'm okay, I've evacuated to higher ground and the waters have receded. However, everything I ever owned in my life has been destroyed.
I've been doing what I can to pick up the pieces of my life, but it's slow going.
If you guys could, please pass around the link to my GoFundMe to help with the recovery process. I'm looking at buying my own house now that I'm... practically homeless.

Thanks, everyone. I'll try and keep everyone updated as best as I can.

Charity Stream Accouncement!
Posted 13 years agoGreetings everyone!
As you all well know, I will be doing a stream for Charity of Amnesia: The Dark Descent for Tiger Haven. This will be my first time playing it, so go easy on me, okay?
Announcements To Be Made
I am currently working on getting a ChipIn Widget for the stream for easy payment via PayPal.
The stream will begin at 8PM CST (9PM EST for those of you on the east coast).
There will be a TeamSpeak 3 server available to further scare me out of my wits.
What I Need From You
Donatables: Artists willing to chip in artwork for higher donators, Steam Games to be given away, Guest Cameos or whatnot.
Help me raise my viewer limit! I can't do this on a 50-user limitation for the stream, at least not what I've planned. So what I will be doing for the next week, to prepare for the stream, is streaming every evening to get my 50-user limit lifted. If we can do that, then we can pull this off! Starting October 25th, I will be streaming me playing some game of sort for general entertainment until the big event, or until the limit is rescinded.
You! Spread the word! Tell your friends! Tell your mom's friends! Tell your grandmother's friends! Tell some random hobo on the street! Just talk about it!
More info in the coming days.

Streaming for Charity! October 31st!
Posted 13 years agoSo this is the first time I'm actually doing this. So excuse me if I'm new to everything.
On October 31st, I will be streaming my first ever playthrough of Amnesia: The Dark Descent. I have never played this game (and have avoided spoilers), and I will play it through until I beat it. If that means overnight, that means overnight.
Here's what I want from you guys:
Spread the word: The more viewers, the better. And for a Halloween night, what better to scare me with than the scariest game of 2011?
Donations: All money that is raised during the stream will be donated to Tiger Haven. Give what you want, but...
Donation bonuses: I need a few artists who might offer some prizes to the highest donators. Also, there will be a TeamSpeak 3 server set up so you can scare me even more over voice, but you will have to donate a certain amount to get the password.
I'll keep everyone updated on the progress of the Charity Stream.

Need a roommate ASAP!
Posted 13 years agoHi guys. Well, it seems that one of my roommates is moving out by next month, and I'm going to have to fill in a gap of someone living here. Before my rent cost goes up into the "OMG I can't afford this!" stage, we're looking to move someone in ASAP.
So if you're in the Baton Rouge, Louisiana area, are in need of a house to live in, and are willing to chip in on the bills (rent total is usually about $350 total for 3 people living here), I'd certainly love to talk!
Send me a note, or spread it around.
Thanks!

RCFM
Posted 13 years agoFor those of you who have been keeping up with my troubles, I just recently lost my job. This means that I have to tighten down my budget on everything that I do. This includes trips out of town...
And ultimately performances.
For the last 4 years, I have been the headlining comedy performer at RCFM in Huntsville, AL. Gracefully, I have inherited the spot from the former head comedian
2_gryphon, and have kept on the traditions of creating laughter and the "Rant with 2" panel that shot me into the limelight, thus changed to "Rant with Isfa".
But it is with a sad and heavy heart that I cannot attend RCFM 2012. As much as I wish I could, there is no way I can afford travel costs, hotel costs, and registration costs. So, for the first time in my comedy career, I have to skip a show at RCFM.
Now this is not a call to raise money for me to attend the convention. Other artists are doing the same to make their trip.
This is just an apology to everyone who expected to see me perform at this year's RCFM.

FWA Meme
Posted 13 years agoWhere are you staying? Well since I'm bringing my car, the parking garage. Actually, I'm in the Shereton.
Who will you be with? Like... everyone.
If you have a significant other, will that person be there? No, she won't.
How old are you? 29
How tall are you? Somewhere around 5'6
What do you look like? Just look for the Subway hat. It's hard to miss.
What is your badge name? Isfacat
What do you prefer to be called? Isfa. Or BooBooKittyFuck. I'm going to see how many of you call me this at the convention.
Will you have any fur suits if yes which ones? I don't suit.
Can I touch you? I NEED AN ADULT... DANGER DANGER DANG- Oh wait, it's just you. Sure. Go ahead. Touch me.
Can I talk to you? By all means! I love meeting and talking to new people!
Can I take pictures with you? Sure!
Are you nice? Nicest guy you'll ever meet.
Are you cliquey? I have a tendency to, but I'll still shy away from groups to go see other people :)
Can I buy you lots of drinks? If the words "Red", "Bull", or "Beer", then the answer is yes. If it's water, still yes.
Can I hug or snuggle you? Hugging, yes. Sunggling... We'll have to talk about it.
Do you do trades? Sorry, but I don't draw.
Do you have an artist table? Nope! Not until I have something to sell.
Are you going to any panels or any con events? Guaranteed for Matthew Ebel's concert, 2's show, and Uncle Kage's Story Hour.

My future in comedy...
Posted 14 years agoThis almost seems like a "poor me" journal entry, but these are the thoughts that are running through my head.
I've spent the last 5 years as a performing comedian in the fandom. Yet, I'm the one that gets pushed to the side for other acts. There are moments in which I don't feel like a "main stage" act. And I don't know what to do.
I try and do what I can to advertise my shows, or advertise my material in general. But it seems that it's never enough. I don't have any artistic skills, I can't make music, and I don't have a fursuit. Comedy, and maybe the ability to edit videos, is the only thing I have in the eyes of "performance". And even then, I'm overshadowed by larger people.
I appreciate the chance that both 2 The Ranting Gryphon and RCFM have given me, and it's been a great run so far. But right now, I'm looking to expand out further into the fandom. I tried producing a DVD so that I might be able to go to conventions and get a Dealer's Den Table to sell, but we all know how that ended. I've posted some of my materials on YouTube, but it seems to get tossed along the side.
It's not that I don't have what it takes in this fandom to make it as a performer. It's just that I am getting ignored because I'm not "established" as a comedian, because I have either limited material, or don't have the larger fanbases as some have. The only chance I was given was back when I was the GoH at MFM 2009... And again, we all know how that went.
The last 2 years have been the hardest in my career as a comedian. I've had to take my name and try and bring it back up. Which leaves me with a major delimma...
Should I just quit comedy and step down as I am now, or should I continue despite the limited resources I have at this point? I don't want to put more time and effort into a career that won't bring me to my goals in life.

DVD Cancelled - Clips
Posted 14 years agoUnfortunately, the DVD that I had announced back on New Year's Day of the RCFM 2010 show has been cancelled.
There were too many technicals that I couldn't get around, and the expected release date of RCFM 2011 was unobtainable. Preorders were low, so the demand wasn't there, and that was a contributing factor.
However, in lieu of the DVD being cancelled, I have created a clip of one of the better sets of that show for your viewing pleasure. Please excuse the audio and video quality as this was a first endeavor and rather amateurish at best.

Texas Furry Fiesta 2011 - Con Report
Posted 14 years agoI decided, out of a whim, to go to Furry Fiesta this year, mainly because of all of the great things I've been hearing about this convention. I've heard that the people are good, that there's a lot of stuff to do, and that the hotel is exquisite.
I was not disappointed.
Let's get to the nitty-gritty:
The Good
As being a mid-size to large convention, there was certainly enough room to wander around. It didn't feel cramped, nor did it truly feel like over 1000 furs were packed into one area.
I met up with a lot of good friends that I haven't seen in a while there, like quasiskunk, antivv0rd, and certainly shockwave77598 and kinkyturtle.
I think the only nights I spent sober were Thursday night when I arrived and Monday night when I got home.
Watching two kick-ass concerts: one from
bucktowntiger and the other from
hali.
Matthew Ebel's subscriber after-party. 'Nuff said.
Both the Weight Training exercise room and the Cardio Training exercise room were great.
The Bad
The Dealer's Den was consistently packed with people. I wanted to get more commissions but their tables were either crowded or they were full from the rush on Friday morning.
The sound system brought in by Sub-Level 03 was a bit... thick-sounding. There was too much bass and distortion, and it rattled the walls a lot to the point in which the con director couldn't sleep, not to mention the "Are You A Werewolf?" game being interrupted by vibrating ceiling tiles.
The same sound system caused my recording of Matt's concert to distort and vibrate. Guess I'll have to wait until he releases the audio recording to his subscibers to get a better "quality".
When working out in the weight room, some furs showed up to mock me and prove they can lift more. The only reason why I've been working out is to lose weight, not to show off.
The WTF?
Corsi has a beard? And is a husky?
Matt totally singled me out during his concert. Not that this was a bad thing, as it was a lot of fun.
Missing bucktowntiger's "Chicken And Fries" in order to grab some... chicken and fries.
This is the first time ever in which I've had to leave a convention on Sunday. I am not very thrilled with the idea, but I had to return back to my job on Monday.
All in all, the experience of Texas Furry Fiesta left a pretty darn good impression on me. I will certainly be attempting to make my way to Texas again for this fine convention. Maybe... Just maybe... I'll put in a bid to do my own show there.

Furry Fiesta 2011
Posted 14 years agoGOOD NEWS EVERYONE!
I am confirmed for attendance at FF. Unfortunately, I do not have roomspace yet. So if anyone has space, I'd be glad to fill in.
I will be arriving on Thursday LATE evening, staying that night, and leaving on Sunday afternoon (around 1), so that would be 3 evenings.
I'd certainly be willing to pay my share of the room cost.
Either comment here or note me and let me know.

DVD Preorder - Artist Needed
Posted 14 years agoIf you haven't been keeping up with my Twitter Account (isfacat), I've made an astonishing announcement!
I am producing a DVD of my RCFM 2010 show, preparing it for sale. Right now, I'm just going to be taking preorders for the DVD, and the planned release is at RCFM 2011 in Huntsville, AL.
Preorders are going to cost... $0
Why so low? Right now, I just want to get a confirmation of how many DVDs and cases I will need to print. You'll also be added into a database to keep track of orders.
To pre-order, please do one of two things:
Note me here on FA
or
E-Mail me at isfacat@hotmail.com with the subject line of "DVD Preorder"
In the email or Note, send me your name, and how many copies you'd like to order.
Also, I need some help. As I'm still in production stages of the DVD, I'm looking for an artist for the Case Cover. If anyone is willing to suggest someone, I'd certainly take a few offers. We're looking at about a 3 month time period for the art to be done, so no one too backed up on commissions.
Thanks, and happy Pre-Ordering!

Concerning the car accident...
Posted 15 years agoI am okay. I am not harmed in any way whatsoever, though my nerves are a bit shot.
The car, on the other hand, is a different story. We'll take a better look at it in the morning and see what we can do.
Right now, I... *sighs* I don't know what I'm going to do.

Posted 15 years agoWell, apparently I still have time off from work I HAVE to use, so I'm left with a few options on what to do with that time off.
The end of October (Halloween Weekend), I'm thinking on taking a road trip. Now, unfortunately, I can't go too far north (IE Ohio or any place that's more than 2 tanks of gas there), but I'm still left with a choice.
I can either:
1: Visit friends in Texas.
2: Visit friends in Arkansas.
3: Visit friends in Alabama.
4: Try and reconcile with someone here in Louisiana. (Albeit isn't the most viable (you know... wishful thinking))
The major problem with each option is a place to sleep. I'm just like everyone else (broke) and can't afford sleeping in a hotel the entire time. Hopefully, I can snag a place to crash while I'm there from friends.
Does anyone have any suggestions, or ideas on the best way to do this?

Concerning the breakup...
Posted 15 years agoI have just recently heard that SOMEONE has sent my former girlfriend a note here on FA, calling her some nasty things...
First off, you people should know this: Don't go after her. It's not her fault. Second, don't come after me, it's not my fault. The issue between the both of us is a mutual problem and has nothing to do with fighting or differences or anything that can be construed as harmful.
Though, yes, I am depressed about the breakup (and a little considerably so), she did nothing wrong at all.
Stop the name calling, or someone will get hurt. Bad.
