Bioshock Infinite
Posted 12 years agoHaving just finished the game I can say I'm... kinda satisfied. Gameplay itself still feels a bit clunky, but I wasn't really playing the game for the combat anyway. Artwise, it's amazing, but I didn't expect less anyway. The story is quite good, but it just feels like there's so many interesting things going on that there's no time to go over any of it properly. One thing that kinda made it weaker for me is that I assumed things about the ending as soon as I knew something about the characters and that time travel and alternate dimensions were a plot point (which is to say, about the time trailers started showing up), and I actually guessed a good chunk of it. Still, the way it was handled was interesting, so I didn't ruin it for myself.
Oh, and the Lutece twins were amazing, definitely my fav characters in the game!

Gosh, I'm sorry

Mass Effect 3 - some thoughts
Posted 13 years agoI just finished the game, so naturally I have to rant a bit. May be some minor spoilerish stuff below.
Starting with the gameplay - it feels pretty much like ME2, but the combat is more fluid and fun. It also seems difficulty was kicked up a notch, but nothing really spectacular.
Personally, I didn't like the Reaper chases in galaxy exploration, but in my opinion it's just a minor annoyance.
Most sidequests were pretty forgettable - usually just planet scanning and if not, then ''hold you position and shoot everything that moves'' type. Still, as I said, combat is generally fun, so no biggie.
Graphics are also similar to ME2, but altogether flashier and more polished (although they tried, and failed, to use some cheap tricks in some places, but again, nothing too bad).
Enviroments are also given much more detail and scripted events, so they feel less linear than in ME1 and 2.
Writing and character interaction is, I'd say, the most important part of the game, and it is usually on par with the rest of the series, although it seems like they tried to force nostalgia with some lines and events. I also thought that many of the new characters with ''larger'' roles, such as Cortez or Diana Allers were either ''meh'' or incredibly annoying. Still, talking with NPCs known from previous games was really satisfying.
The only part of the game I actually hated was the ending. Now, I heard the talking about how bad it was, but decided to hold my judgement until I see it, and yeah... It's not even the fact that it comes out of nowhere and is pretty damn stupid in itself, it's how terribly it is realized and provides no closure at all. It's like Bioware just decided they were bored with the setting and decided to ruin it by pulling of an End of Evangelion. It would have made just as much sense if Shepard just woke up from a drunker stupour under some bridge and decided that the whole plot was a dream. What were they thinking?
TLDR - If you liked the first two entries to the series, you'll like this one too, but be prepared for a very, very disappointing conclusion.
These are all my personal opinions, so no reason to get hissy if you disagree. I'd still like to hear what y'all think about the game!

I won't even make excuses
Posted 14 years agoSkyrim is the reason I haven't been drawing for the last week. That I could spend so much time on a game fills my heart with sadness; the kind of sadness that can only be quelled by copious amounts of candy. For my own sake, I hope the game bores me before I start resembling a walrus. Fortunately, the main quest is apparently incredibly short, so finishing that should do the trick.
I won't really do much fanboying over the game. In my opinion, it's nothing revolutionary, but it is exactly what I was expecting it would be - a huge game with beautiful scenery, lots of exploring to do, a pretty dumb and predictable plot and the possibility of shouting people off really big mountains.
See you soon.

Finally watched Cowboy Bebop
Posted 14 years agoIt is a really good anime, one of the better ones that I've seen (although that doesn't say much). The characters are badass and for the most part likable, it has a fair share of both humor and serious plots, and to top it off, animation and art direction are pretty grand.
What completely blew me away, though, was the OST. From the opening theme to the... well, pretty much everything, it is hands-down one of the best soundtracks I've heard in my life! I'm not even into that kind of music, but just... Unnf!
Please, Yoko Kanno, tell me where you live so I can throw my adorations and money in your face!

I think my monitor is dying
Posted 14 years agoThe colors seem muted as of late, contrast is way off and the reflection from outside lighting is even more annoying than usual. And not all the time, either - I think it's actively trying to fuck with my head! I tried adjusting the gamma, but it just resets after I turn it off. I really have no idea what to try next, save for buying a new screen.
Which also brings me to a question: Is the stuff I upload lately unusually bright or dark?

Motifs
Posted 14 years agoAs an artist, do you have any recurring themes or subjects that you like to depict in your art? Maybe something that always seems to find its way in your work and you only notice it later? Or, if you aren't a visual artist, some specific traits that you give to your characters, or the general feeling of your stories?
Mine, for example, would be big bushy eyebrows, swirly patterns, halos of all shapes and sizes, menial jobs (seriously, I don't know what's the thing with most of my characters hating their jobs), too many eyes or no eyes at all and, for some reason, cartoony cats with huge grins.
I'm really interested in reading your responses, checking your galleries and being all ''Oh yeah, I totally noticed that!''

Posted 14 years agoSorry for just disappearing for two months, I was neck-deep in exams! Managed to clear everything up for now, though, so I should start posting more soon!

The Cat Piano
Posted 15 years agoThe narration may be a bit overdone (although it does kinda fit the whole thing), and there is some stuff I'm not sure I like, but overall this is one of the best animations I've seen as of late.
So I made a porn account, but...
Posted 15 years ago...I'm not linking it anywhere on this page, because I don't want smut to affect people watching this account in any way. It started as a safe for work, and it will remain so.
If you're interested I can link it to you in a note, but be prepared for a lot of sketchy and uninteresting monster or human porn. Not a lot of furries there, I'm afraid (or regular updates, for that matter, but you're used to that on this one hur hur). Oh, and also, it's pretty damn gay.

Holy crap, Firefly
Posted 15 years agoI needed some space western material and a friend suggested Firefly. Now I'm angry at myself for not taking interest in the series sooner. I've only seen the first two episodes and I'm already in love with it - the characters are just so lovable and colorful, the plots are interesting, and it's setting is pretty awesome... Too bad it's only one season, but eh... I'm used to good things not lasting long on TV.
Awesome animation by Jan Svankmajer
Posted 15 years agoFor those who don't know, Svankmajer is a famous Czech filmmaker probably best know for his surreal stop motion animations. His work inspired some people who are currently even more famous than he is (such as Tim Burton). Anyways, enjoy (a bit NSFW).
Need some opinions on my stuff
Posted 15 years agoI realized I don't actually have a constant style, I think. Every time I try to draw while taking notes from my previous work, it turns out a bit different, and frankly, it's a bit annoying. Every artist should have their own style and I just can't seem to find mine. So I'd like to hear your suggestions. What should I draw more? Is there anything you think I shouldn't draw? Any kind of feedback that could help me focus would be nice.
Curse you, nature!
Posted 15 years agoSo I was making my dinner in the kitchen (well, pouring milk on some corn flakes) when I spot this huge-ass hornet flying around the room. Those bastards are, next to wasps, the only bugs that make me scream and flail my arms around like a hyperactive windmill, so I run out as fast as I can (without screaming and flailing, of course, I don't want to piss the fucker off) and shut the door. Naturally, I forgot to take the food with me... good thing I took the spoon, though. Now I'm sitting here, hungry as hell and my corn flakes are getting soggy :C
The worst part, though, is that the window was closed and he must have already been inside, so the bastard was probably watching me with his evil little hornet eyes and just waiting to make himself noticeable and screw me over as much as he can.

I have a terrible, shameful secret
Posted 15 years agoI'm playing World of Warcraft again. I hope that the craving will pass me soon.
Well....
Posted 15 years ago...that was a bit longer than two weeks now, wasn't it?
Anyway, I'm back and alive, expect some crap posted in the next few days.

Posted 15 years agoIt seems I'm off on an unexpected ''vacation''. I'll be away for about two weeks and most likely won't have access to the net. Which means that all my plans and trades will have to wait. Crap. I already feel really bad about not being active enough and then this :/
Axe me a question
Posted 15 years agoOk, I really need to become more active here and, in my opinion, the first step is spamming pointless journals talking with other users a bit. So there, ask anything you want!
Trades
Posted 15 years agoWould anyone be interested? I'm not asking for anything more than quick sketches, because I'm not offering more than that, either. If you're interested, just leave a comment with references below, and I'll tell you when I start working on it (I'm a bit busy, but I can always take some free time for doodling, so you won't wait long).
Also, I won't be posting it in my gallery and spam people's inboxes, I'll upload it to imageshack and note it to you when it's done instead.
Oh, and and for your part, you can take whichever character of mine you want (those are the ones without © in the description), doing whatever you want. I'm not picky.

Posted 15 years agoYessssss! Too bad it's 2011...
Dammit!
Posted 15 years agoMoths keep flying in through my window, and then they helplessly flap around the light and I just have to save their fuzzy butts. Curse my soft and unmanly heart, I should be drinking beer, carving ham with my axe and watching football, not running after butterfly.... things.
What I really wanted to say is - I'm sorry for posting even less than usual lately, but the college is being kinda rough. I should start being more productive in a week or so (derp, I always say that), and I'll post a bit in the next few days. So, uh... yeah.

Quick!
Posted 15 years agoCan someone please recommend some good psychological horror/thriller movies? As much as I like bad ones, I think I might have overdone it a bit lately with watching one episode of MST3K per day. Just for reference, some movies I enjoyed greatly are Jacob's Ladder, Session 9, The Others and so on...
