I had forgotten my fursona's birthday! Again!
General | Posted 16 years agoMy fursona turns 2 years, 1 month, and 1 day today! Maybe on my 3rd anniversary I'll remember.
April 25th, 2007 was the day I created the name "ITTMI", during a Wednesday night church service. That night, I created my LiveJournal account under the new name, registered my ITTMI Hotmail address, and 2 days later got my first spam under that address(Hotmail's just a huge target for spammers, I don't blame Microsoft).
The months leading up to that day, I was trying to think up a name and character design. I considered "TMI" or any variation of it. That name's taken on several social networks. During that Bible study, my mind wandered and "Too Much Information" became "Is This Too Much Information?". Fell in love with it immediately, and online searches haven't found anybody else by that name, ever.
I then worked on choosing a species and a look for the fursona. May 11th, I drew the first picture of ITTMI(without antennae). The rest is history.

I'm a twit
General | Posted 16 years agohttp://twitter.com/ittmi
Alright, I've gotten addicted to Twitter, and I think I'll give it a try under this identity. I've held off getting an ITTMI Twitter account because one account is enough to keep up with, but currently I have a drawing in progress and I've really been wanting to tweet about it. Now I can. I have the drawing penciled currently, but it requires color, which I won't be able to add until Monday night or Tuesday morning. Can't post a WIP pic, either, because it just doesn't look right without color. There was another thing I wanted to tweet(which I've forgotten by now), so I think I might actually use the account.
So far, I'm following 13 people, mostly furries. Even if you don't want to follow me, you might be interested in my follow list. I looked at Dragoneer's entire follow list to bulk it up. I'm surprised I didn't recognize more names on there. I hope to add to that list quickly.

Intrepid Girl Bot
General | Posted 16 years agoI was just listening to the Sequalab podcast(Yes, I said on a LJ community that I was unsubscribing from it, but I'm still giving it chances), and they're interviewing the cartoonist who draws... something... and she brought up her new webcomic called Intrepid Girl Bot. As soon as they mentioned the robot's effects on the raccoon, I went straight to the website to see what these effects are, and tuned out the podcast.
That comic is very well-drawn, which explains why she was being interviewed, even though it wasn't for that particular comic. I have enough webcomics on my daily read list, but when one has a raccoon that apparently now shoots lasers out of its eyes...... ay YI YI!
http://www.intrepidgirlbot.com
I also noticed this podcast was sponsored by Sister Claire, which I've followed(and loved) since the VERY beginning! Sister Claire is for anybody with a sense of humor about religion, especially about nuns. Bonus points if you like Powerpuff Girls, but definitely not a requirement, as I love this comic. The comic focuses on a nun that is now pregnant with the new messiah and must fight to protect him(or her? no mentions of gender) and the world. I highly recommend this comic too. The artist is a student of SCAD, where this podcast is recorded.

As archaeologists look at our literature in the future...
General | Posted 16 years ago...they are bound to find the comic "Barack The Barbarian" and wonder if he had a God complex, or if he was even real.
I think the ancient Egyptian gods may very well have been equivalent to today's comic books.

I'm lucky I still have my job
General | Posted 16 years ago Today, I asked a co-worker for clarification on something she wrote. I hate abbreviations, and these were the abbreviations for something that didn't fit the context very well. But, she was more interested in calling me an idiot... several times.... loudly. I don't tolerate that at all. To me, being called an idiot is the biggest insult someone could call me. I know, I'm weird. Everybody has their own set of forbidden words. In Harry Potter, Professor Snape's touchy word is "coward".
The constant use of the word "idiot" and the lack of a sufficient answer pushed me over the edge. I couldn't control my hand any more, and I have a LOT of control over my temper. I think I stopped my hand enough that all she got was a scratch on her neck(my hand wanted to choke her, and my nails needed clipping). She kicked me and kept the barrage going. I just wanted an answer. One that was specific enough to not get this order wrong and anger a customer. I don't remember what my next hand movement was, it might have been a pointing gesture, I think it was going to be an angry poke. She batted my hand away. Then my boss answered the question, and I thanked him for giving just a simple answer.
Yes, this was in front of my boss and another co-worker. Even then, I had little control over my temper. I can normally hold myself back if someone calls me an idiot. But this was repeated, and she wasn't answering my question.
An hour of work passes, and I got called to the office and the door closed. I knew this was coming. He told me all that you'd expect him to say, and I agreed with him. I should not have raised my hand to a co-worker. What bugged me about his diatribe is that there was an emphasis on me raising my hand to a GIRL. He said that hitting a co-worker is unacceptable, but he considers any guy who raises his hand to a girl to be an idiot.
I have a problem with how women can hit us all they want, but we're not allowed to fight back. They've been fighting for equal treatment, and I'm willing to give it to them, as long as it's equal. I hold the door open for anybody following behind me, regardless of sex. I think the main reason women are given the no-harm rule is because men have an unfair advantage in a physical fight. Unfortunately for me, most women are stronger than me.
The co-worker pulled the first punch verbally. It hurt much more than the kick to the shin. I deserved the kick, no doubt. I also deserved a straight answer.
I appreciate that my boss was direct and concise when he told me that if I do that again, I'd be fired immediately.
In addition, for the past 2 months maybe, all of my female co-workers seem to be hating me. I don't know why. After this incident, I asked a male co-worker why they seem to like him but hate me. He was as confused as me, and said that he had asked one of them why she doesn't like me, or something like that. She had said that she hates me, and he told her that I haven't done anything to her to make her hate me. And, I haven't.
I need to get back on these women's good side. After some examining, I believe that only one of them hated me, and spread the hate to the rest of the female co-workers. I think the source was the newest girl(I've mentioned her as being the one that wears the crucifix necklace) who has never liked me. You know how women often share EVERYTHING with the closest friends. I'm confident they've gossiped about me to people whom it doesn't even concern. It may be possible to get on the good side of just ONE of them, and that might spread to the rest. However, hate spreads faster than love. No, I'm not planning on flirting with any of them. I really don't know how I'm going to get on their good side, but it needs to happen quickly. I don't want the hate to build up any more. I'd ask why they hate me so much, but I'm sure I don't want to hear the answer. It would definitely be, "because you're an idiot". No, I'm not. That's not a good reason.
I might apologize to the girl I argued with, however she's the one that started it, so I can't retract my aggression while she keeps hers. I might tell her, "I'm sorry for poking you ONLY IF you're sorry for calling me an idiot. Either way, I do forgive you for kicking me." That's the truth. I deserved the kick. I have no problem with the kick.
So, how could I get on the girls' good sides? They're generally in the ages of 16-24.

After-Easter dealz
General | Posted 16 years agoAfter-Easter clearance is a great way to load up on plushies, except it's just bunnies. I already have 3 plush bunnies(and one Halloween bear), all bought on clearance(lower than 50% off). What I saw today, though, was bigger. More the size of my fursona. VERY tempting for $10US(normally $20).
I'll probably be kicking myself for not buying that.

Meh, what's the point of this secret identity anyway?
General | Posted 16 years agoThe following was an April Fools post, although tidbits are based on fact. I still want this identity to remain separate from my real-life identity(I do have inheritance at stake, after all), although I'm certainly less concerned about secrecy now.
Here's that post in its entirety.
Okay, so I created this identity in order to express my atheist and gay feelings without my family and congregation finding out. Yeah, like they're gonna find out. I have atheist and wiccan friends as well, so big deal, right? Really, the only concern I have are my parents. I might as well be honest with my friends.
I originally used security features strong enough to hide from the FBI, but have since gotten more lax in favor of convenience. This identity was intended to explore myself, and it turns out I don't really have anything to hide. ESPECIALLY from the FBI.
So, I might as well give a little extra background on who I am. I'm actually Pastor Harris from the First Assembly Of God in Frog Balls, Arkansas. I suppose having to read the Bible more often was what made me more cynical about it. We have a talking snake, fer Christ's sake! When I read that in Bible college, I imagined the snake as Kaa, from The Jungle Book. Many similarities.
You may have noticed that all my art is in pencil. I've given the reason that I can't use my studio(and thus, good pens) for such drawings because people would see these atheistic and pedophallic drawings if I did them in my studio, so I draw them in the privacy of my bedroom. Well, at one point I switched to 100% digital, but kept the pencil look. I take pride in how realistic the "pencil marks" are. They've become my style. I still keep them out of my studio, though. I run a freelance Christian art studio, and there are sometimes nosey kids in there, so I can't have anything embarrassing being upturned.
I treat my congregation like Jesus would, but I'm really getting fed up with them. I preach tolerance, but guess how many people(from my church, even) used "The N word" on election day! *sigh* Also, I suspect I'm the only person from my county that voted for gay marriage being legal. Sure, all eyes were on California, but Arkansas had a similar bill.
My church loves the art I do for my sermons, but they don't take the words to heart. If they find out I'm actually atheist, I don't care. Maybe it'll encourage them to be better people, because I do a MUCH better job at Christianity than they do, sans the "belief" bit. My morals are based on logic, and I teach logic in service, but I think it's lost on them. With 3 members with STD's(that I know of), it's clear they're testing "God's rules" and finding out precisely why those rules should be followed("God is watching" isn't enough reason). Then there's theft, but I won't get into that story. They learned their lesson, at least temporarily. Christianity is wasted on Christians. Church is clearly just a habit.
Anyway, I'm prepared for the possible intolerance in my town. I travel a lot, and I'm fully prepared to travel far away from there. Far, far away. I hear there's an "atheist church" in Texas. Starting one of my own sounds enticing. I'm not sure "church" is the best name for such a thing, but it's the closest description for it.

Finally watched Religulous (xpost from LJ)
General | Posted 17 years agoI had two goals last week: Try briefs or boxer briefs, and watch Religulous. Finally did both today. I'll have to save the big briefs post for later, 'cause I'm going to talk about Religulous tonight.
The reason it took so long to get to the documentary is because Redbox was consistently out each day that I checked, and I checked in roughly 6 times this and last week. I checked TWO Redboxes most of those times. I have access to several video stores here, but I chose Redbox exclusively because of the anonymity. So how was the documentary?
It was very good. Very thought-provoking, and I re-watched several bits. There was not a single boring part. I do believe there were plenty of things shown out of context, and I'm not sure that guy at the Vatican was completely sane. I forgot his title, but considering nobody IN the Vatican wanted to talk to Bill, I'm unsure of that guy's credentials. He almost seemed atheist, actually.
Throughout the DVD, they made it look like certain people got stumped by Bill's words, but sometimes I wondered if they were about to say something good after the cut. I noticed a LOT of cutting, which was likely done for time, but we'll never know. Except on the bits in special features. You get to see some parts uncut.
The guy playing Jesus at The Holy Land Experience was a very good speaker, just as the real Jesus was. Even impressed Bill with one analogy.
I'll have to watch this documentary again, probably Saturday, and actually take notes. I didn't want to turn my attention away from the documentary to take notes tonight. On the Second Watching, I'll definitely catch tidbits I didn't catch this time around, simply due to it being a second viewing. There's even a commentary track. I do want to check that part out. I might go directly to it on Saturday in the interest of time, and not pay too much for the rental. Although at a dollar a day, a week's rental might be worth it.
I don't know yet if I'll blog again about Religulous, but I hope to have more things to say later.
I recommend this DVD mostly to atheists and agnostics who want really good responses to various religious statements. He says some really good things and makes valid points. I'm almost compelled to buy it, but I don't want something like that laying around where it can be found.

WWJD? Yes, really. (x-post from my LiveJournal)
General | Posted 17 years agoToday, I had just finished a tiring part of my job, so I was moving a little slower than usual. I then picked up speed when precision wasn't as important. This is when I heard a co-worker behind me say, "Finally you start busting your ass." I turn around and ask, "What did you say?" and she responded, "...nothing".
This girl wears a gold CROSS necklace at all times. Only Christian-necklace-wearer there, and she's the most hateful.
I've been trying to think of good responses to her hatred and I've settled on, "That necklace of yours doesn't match your personality". If Jesus was around her, I KNOW he'd say something to that effect. He took the Pharisees to task, after all, calling them hypocrites.
What gets me even more is the "...nothing". Cowardly. She knows I heard her.
Do you know someone who wears Christian symbolism just for show? Let them know.

The art of Skunk Fu
General | Posted 17 years agoRented Skunk Fu, thinking it was related to Kung Fu Panda. I even told my mom it was. Wait... it isn't? I've just watched a DVD of episodes of a cartoon I haven't heard anything about? Checked Wikipedia, and the Skunk one came out 9 months before the Panda one. Considering I first saw the DVD at the same time as Kung Fu Panda and that Furious Five DVD, there's just way too much coincidence.
Seriously, a place called "The Valley", a kung fu panda, mantis... I was trying to figure out when this cartoon took place in the Kung Fu Panda universe. I was also comparing it to Kung Fu Panda, and it doesn't even come close to Panda's quality when it comes to characters and plot. Just a children's cartoon.
Skunk is kinda cute, though. Especially when he gave that pouty face.

I knew using this computer was risky, heh
General | Posted 17 years agoI decided to do my FA surfing on the hallway computer. I figured, "Journals should be fine here". Well, a journal linked to a Flash animation of Aeris giving a blowjob. I finished watching that animation, and within a few seconds of finishing watching that and scrolling down, my mom came in. Just SECONDS after scrolling away from it! THAT was close.
Coon is stinky coon
General | Posted 17 years ago*sigh* I didn't take a bath for Sunday and now I could really use a bath. But, I need sleep more. At least I'll have time later today("today" always starts at midnight for me).

General | Posted 17 years agoFound that my submission list was in dire need of viewing-down. This took a couple hours, and I still have 20 submissions and 20 journals to go to. I might skip several journals, mostly con reports and money/commision requests. I don't go to cons nor do I buy commisions, because I got no cash. *Bank account spouts out 5 digits, including cents* Shut up, bank account, I have unpaid bills.
So yeah, you're taking up a lot of my time, and I do thank you. I feel like drawing. I also feel like sleeping. I should sleep.
Oh look, my fursona is commanding me to come to bed.
I just found out today that my fursona is 3 feet tall.

Meme non-time
General | Posted 17 years agoSonderjen's Roll The Dice meme looks too big and time-consuming for me to want to bother with it. I just came here to see porn.
Oh, and I only have one character. That disqualifies me from the meme anyway, unless I used "Surprised Ittmi", "Sad Ittmi", "Cub Ittmi" and so on. I know some of you would love to see Cub Ittmi, heh. Oh, right, there's also the mom character.
I do plan on having more characters, including some Bible characters, but I'm having a hard time designing them. I also have 3 friends I'm trying to design characters for, but they're also hard to think up designs for.

A video promoting gay marriage, by Keith Olbermann
General | Posted 17 years agoHere's a video by Keith Olbermann about why gays should be allowed to marry. Pass it around.
I do wish he had mentioned medical and legal benefits, my main issues, but I think his main point overshadows everything. That point, simply put, is, "IT DOESN'T MATTER TO YOU IF YOU'RE HETEROSEXUAL!", all caps. Although, many people fear that it would matter to them. Well, it doesn't.
Really, gays can do marriage better than heterosexuals if people would give them a chance. I say "them" because I'm technically bisexual and will probably marry heterosexually in my 40's when I'm ready to give up my bachelorhood. Okay, 50's. 60's?
On that Prop 8 note, I overheard a Christian radio program talking about how gays have been reacting angrily to the vote. Their comments made me sick. Gays have a right to be angry, but I don't think they've been as bad as the commenters were making it seem. Gays can have nonviolent protests, it's a good thing. I probably shouldn't mention the Crusades, but the protests are nothing in comparison.

Prop 8 and whatever the other states called it too
General | Posted 17 years agoSo, it seems the scares of "OMG my local school will teach homosexuality if the billzerz pass!" have worked, and gay marriage is now illegal in 4 states. I find it strange that people would think this would actually harm marriage or even be taught in schools.
Gay couples with a life-long commitment just want to have the same rights that heterosexuals with life-long commitments have. I hear that Apple gives the same employee benefits to same-sex couples. I hope to see this become a trend. I don't know how they differentiate boy/girlfriends from lifelong partners, but I'd like to know. An extra form to sign, maybe? Maybe they set a limit of how many people they can share the family benefits with over the course of their employment. That might work, actually. "You may share these benefits with your boyfriend, but if you break up, you won't be able to share them with anybody else. I now pronounce you sharers of benefits. You may now sign here."
Government support or not, I sincerely hope other companies extend family benefits to same-sex couples like Apple has done. It's just a portion of the rights gays are asking for, but it's a start.

Congrats, Obama. Settle down, mom.
General | Posted 17 years agoMy mom went to bed angry last night. This morning, her first words were, "The people of the nation have been decieved." She truly believes Obama to be evil. She's crying. I hope Obama turns out to be a great president, for my mom's sake.
I didn't vote for either candidate.

OMG it's the Controversial Survey!

Might be interesting. These views are the reason I created this secret identity, after all.
[01] Do you have the guts to answer these questions and re-post as The Controversial Survey?
Sure, but could I instead re-post it as "The Survey of Controversy" instead? Or maybe "Ceci n'est pas une pipe"?
[02] Would you do meth if it was legalized?
Hell no. That shit's messed up.
[03] Abortion: for or against it?
I think the only reason to be against it is for religious reasons, and I'm atheist. Therefore, it's up to the parents, and we'll just let their god deal with them, if applicable.
[04] Do you think the world would fail with a female president?
Isn't it constantly failing with a male president? A female president would make no difference. However, it might fail more than normal if Palin SPECIFICALLY became president. She scares me.
[05] Do you believe in the death penalty?
Sure, I believe it exists. As for what you actually meant by the question, I see the death penalty as self-defense. If somebody has a habit of killing people, they should be removed from the Earth as soon as possible.
[06] Do you wish marijuana would be legalized already?
Yes. Victim-less crime. There are tons more dangerous things to do that are legal.
[07] Are you for or against premarital sex?
Generally against it, although I see marriage as a religious thing, and often detrimental to the two involved. The sole reason I don't recommend premarital sex is STD's, and the big decisions resulting if the condom fails.
Purely up to the two people involved. I have no intention of reproducing, personally.
[08] Do you believe in God?
I believe He exists... in people's imaginations.
[09] Do you think same sex marriage should be legalized?
YES. As Roarey said, church and state are separate! Also, there are benefits to being married, such as medical decisions, and no sleeping around(ideally). Marriage(or civil unions) is more than just about sex. Who you choose to be your partner in life is your own business.
[10] Do you think it's wrong that so many Hispanics are illegally moving to the USA?
They're refugees from a country that wasn't treating them well. I have no problem with the legal immigrants, although the illegal ones should definitely become legal. If they're legal, they're paying taxes, and therefore helping the country as much as any white or black folks.
[11] A twelve year old girl has a baby, should she keep it?
Up to the family. Nobody should have a baby at that age, though, because a 12-year-old can't possibly take good care of a baby, and the new grandparents are always roped into the parenting task.
[12] Should the alcohol age be lowered to eighteen?
21 is ridiculous. 16-year-olds are drinking alcohol, often responsibly. I don't know the best age to cut it off, but 18 is an improvement. If there was NO age limit, it wouldn't be as enticing to teenagers. A drunk 18 year old is just as dangerous as a drunk 30 year old.
[13] Should the war in Iraq be called off?
I don't care enough about politics to have looked too deeply into that, but I'm not really sure why we invaded Iraq in the first place.
[14] Assisted suicide is illegal: do you agree?
My grandpa layed on his deathbed. He was in pain. We knew that night would be the night, so we all went to him to comfort him in his last hours. The wait for him to die was horrible, and I wished I could put him out of his misery right then and there. Turns out, he didn't die that night. He lasted another week in that degraded state before his body gave up on him. We made that long drive to wait for him to die. What a waste. I wished I had a gun and the right to make it quick and painless for him. Would've been ridiculous to be put in jail for killing somebody who we knew wouldn't last long. His last pains were pointless.
[15] Do you believe in spanking your children?
I have no children. However, it's a time-honored tradition with proven results. There are other methods, but they don't work on all children.
[16] Would you burn an American flag for a million dollars?
Also agreeing with Roarey, "It's a bit of fabric lol". I'm not into symbolism. I AM into money, though.
[17] Who do you think would make a better president? McCain or Obama?
I'm partial to Obama, but mostly due to my peers liking him. I haven't gathered enough information to actually vote for one or the other.
[18] Are you afraid others will judge you from reading some of your answers?
Meh. You've been warned. "The Controversial Survey!"
