Last Friday (the 5th), I attended a party that my parents (yes, you read that correctly) had talked me into going to. I’m not a huge social type, and while I do want to change that (hence why my parents had me do this) parties are a very… direct way of tackling such an issue.

I stayed for about an hour. On Saturday, I began experiencing strange aches. On Sunday, I woke up with a sore throat, and things got worse from there. I got so weak to the point where I couldn’t eat or drink due to immediately regurgitating it if I tried. This meant that I went about three days with almost no sustenance. My parents realized I needed medical attention once my fever stopped responding to medicine and I was barely conscious. After a ton of lab work and an IV drip, they confirmed that I had some type of the flu.

Almost a week later, I am still incredibly weak and coughing, but at least I can eat now even though everything still tastes awful.
Just extremely unlucky overall.

I'm considering an idea that I've never seen anyone else do before.

Essentially, I would be taking requests for remixing/sampling a song chosen by someone else. It would not be for money (I may be a broke high school student, but even I am not that petty or greedy), it would be completely and totally free. I'm not expecting many people to actually do this, though. In addition to the music section of FA generally being dead, I get even less attention than most due to the fact that I am a minor. Although I can understand fully grown adults being averse to interacting with a 'kid', it becomes rather annoying when people who are only a few years older than me act like I am the human plague simply because I am less than a year under the age of 18...

Due to issues with my schedule, I may not be able to respond to these straight away, and I also reserve the right to refuse a request if a song would be difficult to work with, or if it somehow violates FA's terms of service (I am NOT getting banned over a song that I didn't even choose 😭) but other than that, those are the only rules I can think of at the moment.

I may add additional stipulations at a later date, but right now, this idea is still very much in its draft phase.

What do you all think?

We should be able to upload videos to FA (without the weird ruffle thing that used to be the way of doing it).
Obviously there would be a size/length limit, and most likely some changes would have to be made to the systems to make sure they can still adequately check files (among other things, I’m not a coder so I don’t know lol) but I think a fairly high number of people would vote for this as long as it won’t harm the site as a whole.

I personally think it’s chaos. The open misogyny, homophobia, racism, and general bigotry aren’t even that jarring to me anymore. After 17 years on this planet, I’m used to it (the racism aspect at least, since I’m a straight male, but also a minority) at this point. However, the current state of the economy and the combination of what Trump is doing, as well as AI making moves independent of the current administration, are setting things up so that the job market will go from already being contentious to being nearly impossible to navigate. I’m questioning whether it even makes sense to spend tens (if not HUNDREDS) of thousands of dollars on college just to not be able to land a job, no matter what degree I pick. Even formerly lucrative degrees such as computer science are now the academic equivalent of bear traps. However, the ‘diamonds in the rough’ in the trade industry (electricians, plumbers, etc) that pay well to account for the undesirability will be suddenly overrun by people just trying to get a job that pays above minimum wage, which will cause those wages to fall as demand falls.

As a senior in high school, I genuinely don’t know where the world will be in five years when I’m (fingers crossed!) graduating college.

I tried Roblox for the first time today and… surprisingly fell in love with it (I played Greenville first so do with that what you will, I’m a car nerd).
I used to wonder why everyone loved it so much, but now I understand.

The ACTUAL last music post before the shutdown only has 137 views. Mine has 91 at the time of me posting this.

It’s 9:23 P.M. on Christmas Eve for me, but still.

I decided to find a new profile picture (my old one was kind of starting to look dull) and figured I would replace it with something cat-related and funny. Lo and behold, I typed in ‘cat with sunglasses’ and found this gem. I love it.

I finally made a discord account a few days ago, the FA discord server is a much cooler place than I expected. Definitely don’t regret joining.
