Someone is killing celebrities!
Okay maybe not but an awful lot of celebrities have kicked the bucket recently. Who will be next?

The lazy brown fox gets a quick forty winks ... on a sun-lounger
Last updated at 10:39 AM on 11th June 2008
It used to be the Germans who rose early to get to the sun-loungers first. Now, apparently, it's foxes.
This one was spotted sunning itself in a next-door garden in Clapham, South London, by Heather Kelso as she looked out of the window of her flat.
It was about 7.30am,' said Ms Kelso, 33, a freelance PA.
'It must have been there for about 15 to 20 minutes.
'It was having a sunbathe before going back to its den. It was quite human.'

This is a totally awesome coffee table book if you love horses. There is so much awesome photography and wild poses I never imagined I'd see a real horse in. I picked it up and couldn't let go of it. It also has the most bishie stallion I've ever seen on page 106.

We got an email today about a recent, though (sadly) not isolated, case of artist-on-artist thievery. Today's case involves Todd Goldman of David & Goliath clothing and accessories company. Goldman's work is distributed worldwide through his company and art galleries. It is called "deceptively simple" in a recent press release for his show Gold Digger, currently on exhibit at Jack Gallery in Los Angeles, but the word deceptive apparently goes a bit deeper.
Web cartoonist Dave Kelly created a drawing about five years ago of one of his characters, Purple Pussy, praying at bedside, "Dear God, Make everyone die. Amen." Goldman has a nearly identical piece in Gold Digger which he's selling as if it's his original creation[...].

Man Tells Police That Truck Crash Was Caused By Unicorn That Was Driving
BILLINGS, Mont., Mar. 14, 2007
(AP) A man told police not to blame him for crashing his truck into a light post _ it was that unicorn behind the wheel. Prosecutor Ingrid Rosenquist said Phillip C. Holliday Jr. initially denied driving the truck involved in the March 7 crash in Billings. He told officers at the scene that a unicorn was driving, she said.
Holliday, 42, pleaded not guilty Tuesday to felony charges of criminal endangerment and drunken driving.

EYEBROWS were raised outside the Myer Christmas windows in Melbourne when a platypus appeared to be intimately involved with a wombat.
A malfunction was the cause of the accidental and unfortunate positioning of the two characters in this year's Christmas windows titled Wombat Devine
[...]
They explained the platypus was supposed to be rolling the sleeping wombat to try and wake it up, but the coupling that attached its hand to the wombat was loosened by the rocking motion.

666
Posted 19 years agoRight now I have 1666 pageviews and saw a car with the NY plate 666 tonight. Weird. Possibly evil? But mostly weird.
Oh yes and I'll be off to FurFright tomorrow night. See you all there! If you're going to be there that is.

C is for Canid
D is for Duhhhhh....
Anyway... =^.^=
Posted some crappy new crap in my crappy scraps. There's a rough of Darlene from Squirrel Boy in there even, which I might just finish up. Who knew they'd get a clue and toss in a cutie for the fans?
I've been working on something a little different in the way of a tutorial series that might get posted eventually. Also there's the strange allure of polymer clay. Nothing much worth photographing and posting yet but I'm in pursuit of the perfect jaguar pattern cane.

999
Posted 19 years agoNo, not Galaxy Express 999.
I notice my pageviews just hit 999. I have sketched a 1,000 view thank-you picture but don't have it ready yet. Hopefully it will be in a day or two.
I guess 1,000 pageviews means people like me? Or at least furries do. =^.^=

Bunny
Posted 19 years agoYesterday I was walking past a pet shop in the mall where they have a floor-level window they put little critters in. As I was approaching the shop a tiny little bunny ran right up to the window and looked up at me (binocular style, not sideways). I touched my finger to the glass and the bunny touched its nose to the other side. Then the cute little critter went back to the plastic shelter thing in the enclosure. It was just neat.
Furries Read?

How about weird stuff I've been reading lately. People do still read, don't they? Here are my latest awesome textural discoveries.
Make: Vol. 06. BEAM robots, Tensegrity, Rodent powered nightlight, Steven Roberts, Panzeroids, Roboraptor (rawr!), and much more. The most awesome 'zine ever. I need to subscribe and also get their first year box set. Seriously. I'll probably sit down with those first four quarterly issues and ignore the outside world for a couple of days except for frantic searches for PVC pipe, hacksaw blades, 5k resistors, and silicone sealant. This issue also contains a brief mention of The American Boy's Handy Book, the greatest inciter of creative delinquency since 1896. Do I have a copy? You betcha. *fires up his Reynst combustor*
The Pencil by Henry Petroski. Not a mystery or comedy or drama. It's nonfiction about the history of pencils. I picked it up and couldn't put it down. It's fascinating. No really. I guess I'm weird.
Also picked up a copy of Racso and the Rats of NIMH. Haven't gotten to it yet. It should be a quick read. And found a copy of the Owly FCBD comic from last year. How'd I miss this one? Both of those were a quarter each at the used book store.

Squirrel Boy
Posted 19 years agoCaught the preview of Squirrel Boy on CN this morning. Richard Horvitz as a Klasky/Csupo squirrel? How bizarre.
It's actually not so bad. The writing is decent and the show is fun. The running joke with the father's toothbrush anf stuff did get really lame in the one half episode. And not a cute male or female character in sight. Still, I'll probably watch it when it starts up in July. Don't see myself being a fan of it though.
I just can't help thinking of Rodney as Zim with fur.

Posted 19 years agoOver The Hedge. Go see it. Seriously.
Great story and characters. Great CGI and fantastic character animation. Best 'bullet time' effect ever. Oh yeah, there's super cute Heather too. Just go see it if you haven't yet.

Big Big World?
Posted 19 years agoThis morning I caught a look at a new show on PBS called It's a Big Big World. It's a really cute puppet type kids show. There is a realyl cute bird character named Burdette. I think she's a qetzal bird.
The host of the show is a great big sloth named Snook. He looks similar to Bear from Bear in the Big Blue House, but both his arms work. I have no idea how they do that. Bear had one arm controlled by a piece of fishing line since the performer's right arm was in Bear's head.
It's a little preachy about ed-u-cational stuff but really cute and well done. The puppets and backgrounds are absolutely beautiful. It's well worth checking out.
