Hey everyone,

I know I haven't been around here much. I kinda grew outta FA for a while just because of normal life things. Job, house, friends, and all that. Especially preparing to take the LSAT and start applying to law schools. My mind just hasn't been on my art that much.

I am hoping that once I start the waiting game with law schools, I will be able to put more emphasis on my art. I really miss doing it as much as I used to and being able to sell at cons and such. There's only so much I can do from my desk.

I hope I get to see a lot of you at BLFC next month, and then it's hard study time for me. Work should be slow over the summer so I can get ready. By next April I may be moving or staying in the same place. Don't know for sure, but man, it's scary and exciting. I'll just have to see what happens.

So I didn't give much of a follow-up report to BLFC. Not because it wasn't good, but because I've had my mind wrapped around both work and house issues I just never thought to do it. You guys know, I go to a lot of cons so it's kinda annoying to review each and every single one. I guess I just don't work that way.

But low and behold I'm doing one, and this is why. I mostly went to BLFC to hang out with some of my best friends from California, but the con itself was amazing. Well organized, well executed. Everything was in one place. All the staff was friendly and courteous and new how to handle themselves. A great venue and great pricing for everything all around.

That made it a really good con for me. You know what made it the best con ever? Something that didn't happen until today.

Today, I happen to log on to FA for a little 15 min break to tool around FA. I have a note. It happens to be from a BLFC staff member, asking me if I had lost a badge. I've been moving for three weeks. I didn't remember loosing a badge at BLFC but all the same I thanked him for his question and basically described Jace. He responded with a better description of the badge. It just happened to be my  Neoscottie badge from my first RCFM, my second furry con ever, and done by a great friend.

I was aghast. I thought it was just still packed up in a box. I hadn't even realized it was gone. This gentleman of a horse had just saved me a bunch of heart ache thinking I had lost one of my favorite badges in the move and just dismissing it as gone forever. Not only are they going to ship it to me, but HE'S BEEN LOOKING FOR CONTACT INFO TO GET IN TOUCH WITH ME. I don't know how long, but that... that my friends, is the best DAMN customer service I have EVER seen at a con. Hands down. No joke.

If you ever get a chance to go to BLFC in Reno, NV, usually in May, you should. I have a hard time believing that you'll regret it. I know that whenever I get to make it back to BLFC, I will find this guy and shake his hand.

So we got one of the houses and we love it, but now we have all the moving stress and cleaning up the old place. I swear, I wish I could just snap my fingers and it be done... >.<

Oh gods above and below... Two house apps going out today. If we don't get either, I'm going to just jump off a bridge. I'm so done with the stress!

Hey FA. Gods it's been a while since I put something up. I hope you have all been doin well. Since I've been so absent these past few months, wanted to give ya'll the run down. Hopefully it will explain something.

January 2014: This started off slow enough. Work was busy but not crazy. However my parents' house was broken into around this time and it kinda completely threw me off. I couldn't focus on much of anything then except their safety. That coupled with the frequent ice storms and my car breaking down kinda had my mind occupied. That was until our companies website slowed to a crawl on the day of our largest program deadline. This generated, no joke, over 10,000 inquiries between phone calls and e-mails that the THREE of us in Customer Care had to handle. We were buried, and it didn't stop.

February 2014: This was mostly a result of January. I worked tons and tons of extra hours just trying to keep our e-mail and call volume anywhere close to a manageable level. All of us were skipping lunches and working till 6 or 7 at night. I did get my cool new glasses then, and was permitted to flee the madness briefly to spend Valentine's with a special bat up in Wisconsin. It was a greatly appreciated, if brief reprieve. But mostly, I just slogged through February, looking to March for relief.

March 2014: The call volume persisted until about the second week of March and we finally slowed back down to a reasonable amount of work. Lunch breaks and 5:00 PM clock outs resumed and a great sigh of relief was felt. FWA and BLFC were just around the corner too, both of which I enjoyed immensely. I don't usually back to back vaca, but I felt like I deserved it after the shenanigans of Jan and Feb. FWA was spent mostly with my fur fam and hanging with a few others both local and from afar. BLFC was pretty much all to hang out with one of my best friends since he wasn't able to make FWA. Still I met plenty of new people while in both Santa Barbara and Reno.

The true trial of March was house hunting. I had a bunch lined up for us to view after FWA... and then they were all gone. Now I've been scrambling to find options that fit what we need and also won't kill our wallets. It's been rough. We want to move by the 12th, but that looks more and more bleak as the days tick by. Hopefully this will clear up soon.

Looking forward, April and May are straight up booked. I have something to do every weekend without fail. I'm kind of dreading my schedule, but all of them are necessary. Hopefully June will be a bit nicer.

For those who have tried to contact me unsuccessfully, I am sorry. I have mostly been talking with my fur fam and real fam only. They've been keeping me grounded and in control. I don't hate you guys, really. Life has just been killer and I'm hoping that once we move and I go to ALL THE WEDDINGS, normalcy will be a bit more of a realistic expectation.

Due to the new FA rules about spamming (an issue I do not believe was solved in the most effective way) my new free sketch program will have to go under a bit of an overhaul. Per the new rules, I can no longer require you to post a journal advertising this program in order to receive the reward. The whole point of the program was choice, a dollar, or an ad. Now that choice has been boiled down to a dollar, or nothing, so there really isn't a choice available.

In light of this, I will be continuing the program as a first come/first served, limited slot program. I can no longer make you post journals to spread the word, but I can say that it is strongly encouraged, and would really help me generate some business as well as practice. To my friends and customers,

I want to apologize for my absence. I could tell you all about how life has been chaotic, but that of course is not excuse to me shirking my responsibilities. Lately I have been working two jobs and it's kept me busy, but I have not forgotten you all. I have sketches for all commissioners to approve that will be uploaded tomorrow evening after I return from work. They will then be promptly inked and colored to the specification of the individual commission. I greatly appreciate your patience and beg your forgiveness for my absence.

This weekend is going to be huge! My birthday is this weekend. Big 23. But not only that, my sister is getting married on the same day! Sunday is a big day for our family. I'm pretty excited. Now, it's time to drive home. :3

I hope everyone's been havin a great time since AC. I know I certainly enjoyed myself while I was there. It is always wonderful to get to see old friends and make new ones every year. I didn't get to suit at all, mostly because my suit was over in the Double Tree and I had no intention of walking all that way. But like I said, I had fun none-the-less.

If you commissioned me at AC, never fear, I have your commissions written down and in my cue. All commissions will be finished by mid August before MFM and either emailed to you or sent via snail mail to your preferred destinations. I am sorry for the delay, but my sister is getting married at the end of the month and there is lots of things I have to do to prepare for that.

ON A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT NOTE...

I recently got to enjoy being a part of the FFXIV: ARR Beta Phase 3. If you played the original FFXIV, they have made tons of improvements. My only problem while playing it was that since Phase 3 characters got deleted, I really didn't spend time to work on meeting people and playing with other characters. So, if anyone is planning on buying FFXIV on PC, PS3 or PS4, please let me know. That way we can organize what server we want to play on. This is my first time REALLY playing an MMO so I'm excited to have fun with it.

One final note, if you would be interested in taking part in a comic raffle during the month of September, let me know. I plan to host a comic commission raffle that will start as a 3 page comic fully inked and colored about whatever the winner chooses. However the length of the comic will increase with the number of entrants into a raffle, so that 3 pager can easily turn into 12, 15, 20 pages all depending on who and how many participate. I hope you guys get excited for it because I certainly am.

Hey everybody! After much work from the staff we have finally found a hotel for 2013! This time we will be at the Holiday Inn Knoxville West! Yes, I know Nash furs, we are all very sad that we couldn't make it work in Nashville this year. Please understand that we tried but there were no hotels large enough/ affordable enough/ or who had available dates. This doesn't mean this is a permanent move. Our dream has been for the con to be in Nashville and when we have the funds and a hotel willing to work with us, I have no doubt we will move back, so just bear with us in the meantime. (Really guys, it's only a 2h 45min drive. I do it all the time.)

And this year our theme will be the circus! So put on all your horrifying clown make-up, get your juggling balls out, and we'll pop the popcorn! It's going to be a wonderful and fun weekend back in my home town! We will be right next to Turkey Creek shopping center which has tons of resturaunts and shops, but why would you go over there when we will have so many fun events, panels, and performances that you can't even fathom them all!

So as many of you may know, I am a happy slave-er employee of GameStop, which means it's my JOB to know about hot new games coming out. Well if you haven't heard, Injustice; Gods Among Us is a new game by NetherRealm (the guys who make Mortal Kombat) set in the DC universe with all DC super heroes. I know, I know, Mortal Kombat vs. DC was a pretty poor fighting game, but Injustice is having none of that shit. There are 24 heroes and villains slated for the launch, plus four mystery characters that will be released in DLC later, ala Mortal Kombat (2011).

As I am just now getting into the New 52 and am so freaking excited for this game, these next week and a half till the game comes out, I will be doing special Injustice badges!!! These will be full body badges of your sona as your favorite DC character. I'll do any costume as long as you provide reference (even the new Injustice costumes or Red Son Costumes). My only request is you post a journal about this one so EVERYONE can be their favorite DC super hero.
