I would like to sincerely apologize for the hiatus! There are no excuses for it, no 'this is why, sorry' just a I am Sorry! But the Jackal Connection is getting a new revival now, thanks to stiefelchen, our new Moderator, and as such updates are a-coming!

The Jackal Database, Found Here, Has been updated!

Please take your time to make sure your name is on there, and if not, let us know! I tried to make sure everyone was there, but you just never know!

Reminder,
To be on the database, you must BE a Jackal. not have a character that is one. Your FA Species should be labeled as such so as when we go through and update (which will happen every month) we don't have to hunt your journals and profile blurbs to find out if you have changed species. THANKS

For all of our devoted fans, and prospective fans that were discouraged by the decline in activity, The Jackal Connection is proud to announce an attempt at a page revival.

The previous owner will still remain the founder of the page, but right now we are looking for volunteers from our jackal fanbase to help run the page so that we can avoid stretched of downtime in the future. We're looking for someone who can help the rudimentary tasks of updating the member list, helping us organize art and raffles, responding to questions and PMs and updating the page with Jackal facts/tidbits/images/fan art/favourites/submissions from other users. My goal is to have a group of staff on skype so that we can maintain contact through an easier medium other than FA. If anyone thinks this may be over ambitious let me know.


I'll try to put out a journal later to get volunteers for the position, but as for right now I just wanted the group to know that the hiatus is over and to prepare for some activity if all things go right. If there are any questions or suggestions or comments feel free to post them!

so here's my idea.. you see a picture that involves a jackal in one way or anther.. you tell us..and we fav it.. this way we can show everyone jackal art without spamming your inbox with uploads. how about it?! Link us up!

A 26-foot statue of Anubis is rowed through NYC harbor, apparently on its way to a recent Egyptian exhibition at one of the city's museums.

I'm always interested in seeing exactly how far Anubis has penetrated (hur dur!) modern pop culture.

It's been roughly 2,000 years after formal, state-sponsored worship of him essentially ended. Most other Gods from the pre-christian era have been safely relegated to dusty museum shelves and dry, sterile academic tomes. Yet Anubis remains fairly well known and recognizable to many people, even those who have never heard of 'Furries".

So I think I'll start collecting some of these images from the mainstream. To start, here's a still from the original 1942 version of "Cat People".

Strangely enough, in the film, this is supposed to be a maritime musem the characters are visiting. Yet here's our fav Jackal-Headed God from the dry, dusty sands of Egypt.
