GoFundMe
General | Posted 11 years agoHi!
I decided to start a GoFundMe thing for when I separate from the military. I have a some cash saved up to help me get back to the States but looking at all the expenses that are popping up left and right, the amount I saved looks to only cover so much. Miscalculations, added expenses, and possibly fix my car from the ground up. A co-worker back in Louisiana was supposed to keep it in good condition and notify me of any problems as they come up but decided to be negligent and now there's a whole slew of problems I need to do before...
Anyways, I'm not asking for much! I put $6,000 on there because I'd like to have some cushion as well, but maybe half is really what I need. So if I can even get there, that'd be awesome! I know many of you don't look at journals so when I get home, I'm gonna do a little flyer as well and post it to both accounts. Ashton and this one.
If you are unable to help by donating, please spread the word! Our little furry community is amazing and has a lot of furs who are willing to help any way possible. So please, spread the word!
Thank you for your time! And I cannot wait to get back to the US with my friends!

I really hate to do this, but I need help.
General | Posted 12 years agoI really do hate asking for money... Especially when I can't give anything in return.
My sister went to jail sometime today for failure to appear in court and her bail is set at 1000. I won't have that kind of money for a couple weeks and I kind of need it now.
All I need is about 5-10 from you guys. It's not much but any would help. I can pay about 300-400 this pay but I'm going to need the rest.
Please help me! I've never asked for any money since I've been a fur. This is a first for me and I feel real guilty of it.
Please pay to my paypal and let me know who you are. I'll do my best to repay you with something.
My paypal is: jyoung8605_5[at]yahoo.com
If you do help, I'll greatly appreciate it and my family will too. I don't need any stress right now. Afghanistan is stressful enough, no days off and 12 hour shifts. And not to mention in a week is my birthday. Happy Birthday, your sis is in jail!

Doing good!
General | Posted 12 years agoIt's been a fast three weeks. Wow, time has flown by! I'm doing good, resting when I can, enjoying the rest! Also don't forget about sleep. That's the best part! After working 13 hours, sleep is really enjoyable. Especially if it's them days you don't get a good break.
Overall, I'm enjoying it out here. Enjoying it a lot more than Japan, oddly... The work here is very slow. Only time we have work is when something really breaks, unlike in Japan. The rest of it is waiting to see if we have a rescue mission to do, which thankfully has been only one in the three weeks I've been here.
Can't believe it's already been three weeks. I guess when you're busy everyday, time flies. Five more months to go!

Last journal before I leave
General | Posted 12 years agoAs long as the aircraft isn't late. ;p
Early tomorrow I leave for Afghanistan. I'm excited/nervous/anxious. It's going to be a new experience for me.
Not sure if FA is blocked over there or not, I know porn sites are sooo not sure if they got FA on that blocked list.
I hope not! But if it is, this will be my last journal for about 3-6 months. However long I end up staying there.
For those who has my Skype, I'll see you on there! Or AIM. Or The Book of Faces. For the rest of ya! I'll chitter once I get back from Afghanistan! Love you all!

Deployment
General | Posted 12 years agoAlrighty, so I'm leaving within the next week to Afghanistan! I'll be gone for approx three months, maybe more. You never know.
Don't you all worry, I'll be fine! I'm never going to be in any real danger, but yes it is still dangerous. I'll definitely be keeping
everyone updated with journals, maybe some arts, and also can follow me on Twitter. Yes, I have a Twitter. :c jackeecarter
I may post pictures on here, or on my
page, of me while I'm there. Definitely bringing my camera! So, wish me luck!

General | Posted 13 years agoCan't really say when, but it'll be between the end of August to mid September.
I'll be leaving to Afghanistan, so I wont be on a lot. I'll do my best to keep you guys updated!
When I get back, I'll have quite a bit of money saved up so it'll help towards moving to Colorado in 2015!
3/4 of it is going into a savings account so I don't spend it. The other 1/4 is going to be used to pay off bills.
If I have some neat pictures, I'll be sure to post them!

Artists for Ashton
General | Posted 13 years agoDoes anyone know of any good/cheap artists? I'd like to get some artsies done for Ashton
within the next couple months. He's awesome and needs artsicles!
If any of you are artists, are you open for commissions? There's so many of you and I really don't have the time to check everyone's pages and everytime I check a journal, already closed!
Thanks!

General | Posted 13 years agoWho reads these anyways! I do every so often!
Anyways, I have made a new FA dedicated to my new fursona, Ashton. He is an awesome, metro shiba. He's flamboyantly straight.
You can watch him over at:
AshtonDaSheebs
In about, oooh I'd say eight months, he'll have a suit all his own. After One Fur All clears their queue, and begins working on Ashton, more pictures will be rolling in! And since I'm in Japan and he's a shiba, and Japanese love pink, I'll be taking him out more often than not.
I can't wait!
So go over there and watch him!

One year in Okinawa
General | Posted 13 years agoOn March 1st, Friday, it was my first year anniversary of coming to Japan. I can't believe how much time has flown by!
All in all I like it here. The stress sucks, being away from friends sucks... but I have met some awesome friends here.
and
to name a couple, which I had just recently met. Both are very awesome! It's too bad I'm only here for a short period of time, definitely would love to visit here again after I leave.
Friends here have definitely helped. If not for them, I'd go crazy! So many thanks!
Things I've done here:
Seen a Japanese castle, snorkled, climbed a mountain, eaten very tasty Japanese food, learned a lot about Okinawa's history, met some awesome people, and also seen a Harlem Shake video being made. Which made me giggle.
I was sad I left the states and I'll be sad when I leave here. Two more years!

My Next Fursuit
General | Posted 13 years agoIs NOT going to be a fox, it's going to be a shiba inu.
Since I'm in Japan, figured it'd be pretty awesome to walk around as a Japanese dog, plus shibas are my favorite, so yeah!
It's going to be made by One Fur All. After much negotiations on payments, we've come to an agreement and within the next year, I should have an amazing fursuit. This one will be worth the wait. I love my current one, but shibas are much better than foxes! February is going to be when I have the down payment settled, then shortly after that, the rest of it will be paid off. $400 in shipping is crappy, but I want my shiba. >:(

Saving money
General | Posted 13 years agoYeah, I'm horrible at it. But I'm really going to be needing to save money for when I get out of the Air Force.
Most likely, I'm going to opt for getting out early. Yeah, I love my job and wouldn't trade it for the world. But the next two years, I'm working with complete idiots.
Today for example:
I worked my ass off 'folding' helicopters. It's where you rotate the rotors to face backwards, flip the stabilator up, the wing on the tail, take off various antennas, and sandwich the tail rotors... Did this on the three birds that are leaving tomorrow/today. This normally takes around 12 hours, we got it done in a little under 8. There were some batteries in the helicopter that needed changed as well, but didn't have time so I turned it over to my dayshift counterparts. After doing so, I got bitched at for not doing them last night, even though I barely had time to sit down and eat. Working the rest of the night.
This is the same kind of stuff that goes on day in and day out that is really making me want to leave earlier than I am supposed to, legally. I thought Louisiana was bad, I had no idea how good I had it.
But, to the original story, I'm gonna do my best to save around $10,000 +/-, so I can get a decent place to live in after I get out. I may have to stay in the next 2.5 years, but if I can save enough before then, heck ya I'm getting out. It's getting too stressful here and I'm just about to blow my lid. I still try to be as nice as I can but the stress is definitely taking a toll on me, which may be where my migraines are coming from.
I have done so many good things to my unit and they still treat me like garbage. I'm done with the Air Force, I can do this job on the outside, get treated better, and better wages. Year or two of schooling and I'll be golden.
This is a picture of what a folded helicopter looks like:
http://www.davisaircraftproducts.co...../Blackhawk.jpg
It's a blackhawk, which are similar to the Pavehawk, which I work. It looks easy but each step is crucial or you'll break a rotor, which is why it takes so long. And also, our shift is full of newer airman who haven't really done it yet.
I love my job, I'm gonna hate leaving it, but I can't wait to get out.

Pimping out an awesome artist.
General | Posted 13 years agoI don't normally do this, but he's been a pretty good artist guy for me and he's in need of some help!
He needs some emergency commissions, his tablet broke so he's needing to do a few traditionals before he can start on his digitals.
<--- Go get commissions! He's a pretty good artist. I've loved what he's done for me. :3

General | Posted 13 years agoSince it's Tuesday for you guys, I guess I'll try this out. I think I know how it goes! You ask me personal questions, I answer them truthfully. Or something like that... No idea, but whatever is supposed to happen, LET IT HAPPEN!
So, I almost died last night...
General | Posted 13 years agoLike, literally...
I go snorkeling almost every weekend, and I'm fully aware of it's dangers and whatnot. But sometimes those dangerous things are unavoidable.
For instance, yesterday. Swimming as usual, about an hour or so. The current is rough, but doable. Tide was coming in. Finally about two hours after swimming, the current was bringing me back to shore. Which is normal. I kept my goggles below the water, so I can see where I'm heading, in case I come up to a rock or some coral or something.
Well, on a coral, I saw a white and black, long thing... Sea snake. Those things are rather poisonous and the tide is bringing me to the coral it's sitting on, and very fast. I had no way to get out of it's way. Only thing I could to is grab ahold of the coral that it's sitting on and throw myself in another direction, fastly or else I would be floating right above the snake until the next wave came through. As I got closer, the snake popped it's head out of the coral and stared me down. I grabbed ahold of part of the coral furthest away from the snake's head and threw myself away. The snake's little head just followed me and started moving. I kicked my flippers as hard as I can to get away from it.
That only lasted about 10 seconds, but seemed a lifetime... Being face to face with a poisonous snake wasn't fun. Definitely a learning experience and am very grateful to not have gotten bitten. Any longer there, the snake would've taken a bite. Very thankful that those snakes aren't too aggressive, especially towards humans.
I've never been so scared in my life. The only thing I thought about the whole time was how to escape, my family and my friends, you guys. If I had gotten bitten yesterday, the closest hospital is 30 minutes away with no traffic. So, to get the antivenin wouldn't have been too bad. But after 30 minutes or so, I would've been in pretty bad pain. According to what we're taught here, takes several hours to kill you, if it even kills you. So, the odds of me living were pretty high. But, that's not something you think about when you're face to face with one of those.
Either way, I'm still happy to be here! Can't wait to snorkel again next week! ;p

I love myself
General | Posted 14 years agoIt's true. I'm totally in love with myself. Not sexually of course.
I've been on Kadena for about five months now, it's been pretty quick! I can't believe it... But since I've been here, I've not only made an improvement for myself but for my unit aswell.
Back at Barksdale, I was the low man on the totem pole. Here, I'm being treated like a god. It feels great. Never have I ever had so much appreciation from others. I feel famous. I've had people come up to me going, "Oh, you're Airman Young? I've heard many good things about you!" Then name off those things. People I've never met before... It feels weird but awesome knowing my name has been spreading like wildfire. No offense to Colorado...
Since I've gotten here, I have fixed several major systems. Many of which are very important to fly with. If those systems were down, they cannot fly and being apart of a rescue squadron, that's very important. I have fixed more major components than the people who've been here for years. I've also fixed other systems that I don't work on. I'm getting praise from all ranks, from the little guy to the chief. Who is the highest paid enlisted guy for those who don't know. It feels great. I'm happy here! I was happy at Barksdale too but being the low guy there sucked.
Though with all of the high praise I know have high expectations from everyone too. One mess up and it's major. I had a mess up today, left a piece of equipment on the aircraft. Luckily it wasn't major and was caught quickly but came down hard on me because I shouldn't have made that mistake, which I did take full responsibility for.
But yeah, the impact from all of the positivity this unit has given me, I want to strive for more. Who knows, if this keeps up, I might stay in the Air Force.
That's all the updates for now! Tomorrow I'm going snorkeling with a friend I had in Louisiana, he's stationed up in the mainland now and is coming down here for a couple days. Lets go see Dory! I should have pictures too. Bought me an underwater camera. >:D

General | Posted 14 years agoIs that I'm on the other side of the world!
Whenever someone has commissions, it's always during the daytime that they put up their journal, and by the time daylight hits for me, all commissions are closed! Dern timezones. I really want a commission. :( Haven't had one in a while. lol
And that everyone is asleep by the time I wake up! Hardly get to talk to everyone back in the states. :( Miss you guys!

Holy crap single people...
General | Posted 14 years agoRant rant rant!
I don't know why... But whenever I'm on Second Life, I always get one person who IMs me and asks how I am. But when I ask them, it's a big sob story on how they're single and no one in the world is single with them and how they cannot find any love... Holy crap, furries... There's more place to find love than online.
Yeah! It would be great to find a single, cute little female furry to be yours... But there are also a lot better ones that are not furry. It'll be awkward to come out to them that you're one... but if they really love ya, they'll accept you.
So this guy, I asked if he ever went to any clubs to get hooked up. Nope, he doesn't. He feels inferior to everyone else at those places and that makes him upset even more. If you're not willing to be social, you're never gonna find anyone. Second Life clubs don't count. Half of the females are males and the rest will cheat on you so quickly because they want an "open relationship" It's not even the same person everytime... Each day is someone new. No wonder my friends list is declining rapidly. Friends are becoming emotional wrecks that refuse any help and expect the world to love them when they don't love themselves and the new people I meet are even more emotionally wrecked to the point where they don't care who they offend.
I love being single. Also doesn't help that my last girlfriend was completely insane... But I'm enjoying it while it lasts. I just don't understand why others cannot be like that. Maybe I'm just naive and don't fully understand how horrible it is to be single. Maybe I should be like them! Become emo and sad because I don't have someone in my life.
Well, I do. Palmela Handerson. And she's all I need for now!
Damnit, I spilled my orange soda on my pants. >:O

Anthrocon update.
General | Posted 14 years agoUnfortunately is a no-go for me at this time. As much as it hurts to say, I probably wont be able to make it...
The free car I got here in Japan is on it's last leg, I knew it wasn't gonna last long... It's free, but was hoping it lasted till after June. But yanno, things happen.
Anyways, I need to get a new car, asap. My friend is selling his car, just take over payments, which is only 300 a month. But that's also on top of my car payment back in the states, insurance for the car, phone bill here, and a few other bills I have. After all that, it comes to over a grand a month. I only make about 2k a month now. Took a big pay cut to come here. :/
I'm really sorry guys! I really wish I could make it, but I doubt I'm going to be able to. All of you mean a lot to me, some of the greatest friends I have. I know you'll all have fun!

First month in Japan
General | Posted 14 years agoIt's been pretty awesome!
One major problem is the medical here on base. I've already had issues and had to report a doctor for mistreating me. He's not supposed to harass a patient, which he did.
Anyways, aside from that, Japan has been awesome. I'm very glad I got stationed here. And if I can get the doctor thing cleared up, this base will be damn near perfect. Only thing making it perfect would be you guys.
AnthroCon is only a few months away, and from buying an awesome car, (sarcasm), buying many things for my room, and Japan makes you pay a full year of insurance before you can drive, I have almost no money already. But, that's not going to stop me from trying to get to AC. I already miss you guys so much! I watched a lot of my videos with you guys in it, our antics and whatnot, kind of brought a tear to my eye.
I really do miss our stupidity! But Japan is pretty awesome. Their food is amazing and curry... omg It's heaven on taste buds. Can't wait to get it again! This week I'm going to go to the beach, and hopefully see the sun set. That would be amazing. It's pretty rainy here, being in the middle of water kind of does that. The people here are extremely nice and it's absolutely beautiful.
I can't wait to get back to the States and see you guys again! Till then, I'm gonna make myself fat with Japanese food!
And this person's art makes me feel gay...

It's just so cute and fluffy. D:
Still straight on the human side, furries are just too cute either way... D: AHH CONFLICTED FOX! Must... not... give... in... My species must not give in to it's instinct! ... I am strong! I can pull through this!
