Potential RP Server
Posted a year agoOkay, so, I’ve been craving some good old fashioned story based RP.
Once upon a time I had a fairly popular RP running on the Feral-Heart forum (yeah remember that) called Strays of the Ruins. I was thinking it might be fun to revive that with our MODERN TECHNOLOGY like discord.
This is kind of a test for interest. it’d be a multi character turn-based old fashioned forum-like RP (but in discord)
It would be a mature RP but more character/story driven. There will be ERP allowed but it won’t be the focus (of course your character can always find love in an apocalypse lol)
The general idea is it’s a post-nuclear war world infested with mutated creatures and human scientists. (Kinda think “Stalker” or “Metro”)
A lot of surviving strays sought safety in an old city that was far enough from the bombs to be relatively safe from radiation at first, but through the years their safe city gradually became over run with monsters & other dangers.

Wanted to give an update on art & apologize for my (10000th) sudden absence and lack of art.
A lot has happened this past year, all good things (:
As of last January I’ve officially made the leap & moved from Florida to Wisconsin to be with someone I can 100% confidently say is the love of my life. He’s literally my entire world & I can’t picture my life without him 💙
Weird & gross to find myself spewing all this sappy shit lmfao but finding the person you’re supposed to be with just makes the world a little brighter, and thus more sappy, so get over it lol :p
All that being said, the point of this journal is to tell you guys I’m slowly gonna be making a return to drawing doggos and stuff, though I may not be doing AS much NSFW as I used to, I’m not sure yet. I miss y’all and I miss drawing my characters & storytelling/developing them, so I look forward to drawing again. Prepare for gross lovey dovey Denarii art once I design a mutt character to represent my bf in her story lmfao
Commission update:
With my new living situation, I find myself not struggling for money anymore for the time being, so I don’t think I will be taking commissions for a while, HOWEVER I’m sure I will be more open to art trades, or even requests from friends and gift art once I get back into the swing of things 💙
Thank you guys so much for your support through the years, I truly miss this lovely community & the homies I’ve met along the way so I can’t wait to reconnect with you 💙

Life's been a little crazy lately, long story short I've decided I'm going to be moving either back up to Indiana or to Wisconsin by this time next year.

Commission Update

Quick update regarding commissions:
1. ) Due to money being extremely tight right now, I can no longer afford my Photoshop subscription.
This means effective now I will no longer be able to offer any detailed background commissions until things are more stable financially and I can get PS again because I use special foliage brushes and other things I can't use with my current program.
I am still offering simple background and transparent BG, and am able to paint simple scenes but probably nothing very detailed for now.
I do not anticipate this being a permanent change, I just have to get my general finances figured smoothed out first. :)
2. ) while I get caught up on my current commission backlog after my absence, I will not be taking on more commissions for now. Once my backlog is cleared I will open up again :)

The Red Dead Online community has started a campaign on Twitter/Reddit and we need all the tweets we can get to get Rockstar's attention and keep the campaign trending
As i'm sure you know by now I fucking love this game, I've been with Red Dead Online since the Beta two years ago. Basically, as the years went on it quickly became blatantly clear that the developer, Rockstar, was only interested in continuing to milk their cash cow GTA Online over their newer title RDO. We constantly get screwed over with minimal to no content while they give GTA gigantic new DLCs at the same time and rather than communicating with us to let us know if there even is a future for this game, Rockstar is just dragging us along in silence while putting in hardly a molecule of effort shown towards their game, expecting to try and squeeze as much cash out of us as possible.
The latest two "updates" have caused Red Dead fans to boil over as Rockstar gives GTA their biggest update yet while RDO has received literally nothing yet again
The RDO community on Twitter has started the #SaveRedDeadOnline campaign to let Rockstar know we're not putting up with the neglect anymore and that their utter silence regarding the state of this game is unacceptable. it's since absolutely blown up and has been picked up by numerous gaming news sites like IGN who have even gone to Rockstar with their own questions, and as of right now the hashtag has been trending for 6 days straight but still nothing but silence from Rockstar.
With all the pressure from the gaming sites asking them still ignored questions and the fans pushing harder and harder, R* will have to address us eventually, but until then we need to keep the pressure on
If you have twitter, use the hashtag #SaveRedDeadOnline , keep it trending, let R* know we ain't going away until they start communicating with us

smol spicy coyote, you know her lmao
Kelso :
Cocky, smooth-talking, snarky timber wolf. Thinks he's the best thing since sliced bread. Kind of a deadbeat, constantly picking fights and trying to pick up any female with a pulse
Courfeyrac :
smol wolf boi, son of Kelso and Ashera. Quiet yet confident, usually keeps to himself unless prompted to protect his loved ones. Trying to figure himself out
Ashera (also featured here )
i'm trash and keep forgetting to make her actual ref sheet so those will do for now LMAO
female wolf. Stubborn and strong willed, very mistrusting due to past (very)failed relationships. Family oriented and nurturing, would fight a whole ass bear to protect her kiddos
Eris
ya gurl. Female dog (yakutian laika), high position of power- right hand of the king (her brother). Power hungry, manipulative, intelligent, two-faced and secretly bitter towards her brother for snubbing her out of the top leadership role. scheming things
Jannu
twin brother of Eris. Current ruler of the territory. Completely unhinged tbh, kind of a shut-in, charismatic, humorous, can flip to sudden aggression on a dime. Complete neat-freak, obsessed with appearances, exploits his power for funsies, completely incompetent leader due to his unstable mental health
Kane
German shepherd dog, Sheriff K-9 officer. he is the law and the law is not mocked
kind of a stick in the mud, very strict and adherent to the rules.
Artemi
border collie/lab mix. Kane's neighbor. Extremely boisterous and energetic, constant source of annoyance for Kane. Mainly speaks Russian, can speak a little broken English
Boca
female red wolf. Raised in captivity but tagged with a radio collar and released into the wild with hopes of helping the dwindling population of wild red wolves.
Naïve, kind, overly enthusiastic and optimist about literally everything, inexperienced and too friendly for her own good. General ray of sunshine
Reckless
American Standardbred mare living in the late 1800's in the Western US with her human Canton. Hard-headed, mischievous, she gets quite a lot of joy out of causing Canton as much annoyance as possible but at the end of the day her love and devotion to the human knows no bounds

Just wanted to post a quick update.
Recently we've had to put one of our dogs to sleep, he was suffering from cancer and it was the only option we had left.
I've been dealing with a lot and mentally/emotionally I'm not in a place right now where I want to draw very much.
I still intend on finishing my remaining commissions of course, and I absolutely appreciate you guys' interest and support, it's immensely helpful, just need to take a short break for my mental health
I'll keep you guys posted on when I feel like I'll be able to draw consistently again, I'm hoping I won't have to keep you waiting long <3

Doggo/life update

Thank you guys for your well wishes on my last journal regarding my dog who recently had a severe stroke.
I wanted to hop in and give you guys a little update.
In the past week he's improved drastically, much to our surprise.
He went from being unable to walk at all without leaning on a wall - to just being a bit wobbly and unable to use a hind leg - to being able to go on walks around the street with little assistance and eating full bowls of his normal food and even running in the backyard by himself sometimes- all in the course of a little over a week!
unfortunately he has lost his vision in his left eye, and will probably be unable to fully use his left hind leg for the rest of his life, but all in all he's adjusting marvelously
That said, we still don't know the underlying condition that caused his stroke in the first place. He's on anti seizure medication and a sort of steroid right now that should hopefully keep anything severe at bay, but there is still a great deal of unknowns right now.
Overall though, he is doing far better than we ever expected right now and that's all that matters.
As for myself, to be honest, I've been feeling pretty depressed lately in the wake of everything. The whole thing just stirred up all these negative emotions, stress and memories. last week being particularly bad (literally at work someone just asked me how my day was and I had a full-on breakdown, had a few more multiple times throughout the day lol this is fine everything is fine)
I think because I've been suppressing my emotions so much it's built up to a boiling point.
I'm happy to say I'm feeling a lot better today for the first time in what really seems like a long time.
Actually talking about your feelings does wonders, who would have guessed haha. And it's been surprisingly therapeutic to go out to the barn to hang out with my lesson horse more often in the past week, that's been my sole source of escape and stress relief honestly.
Sorry if these journals have sounded rambley - it's been nice being able to talk about this stuff more and type things out, it's helping me cope with things. I'm trying to keep the negative thoughts of the what-if's away best I can.
I've been feeling a lot more inspired, so I hope to get back on track with art really soon! I have a lot of character stuff/storylines I've been working on in my head and i'm excited to draw some concept stuff and get back to commissions soon

just wanted to give you guys a head's up and reason for my latest brief hiatus, and to tell you I may need another quick break..
Our boxer we've had since he was a puppy recently had a severe stroke
The vet thinks he has some sort of cancer, recommended we go to a neurologist but we simply cannot afford the costs of aggressive testing at a specialist to find out for sure.
at the moment, he is still his usual happy self, only now he walks very gingerly, has to lay down a lot, wobbles to the left when he walks, and just looks more.. fragile?
While right now he is comfortable, happy and not in any pain, we don't know if or when his condition will deteriorate, or when the next stroke or seizure will happen or IF it even will. There are so many uncertainties it's scary. I've already begun to notice his decreased appetite lately and he is starting to look skinnier.
If he gets to the point where he's visibly miserable or is unable to eat or is in pain, we've accepted it would be selfish of us to keep him around if he's suffering and have decided if he gets that bad it would be best to put him down. While right now that's not on the table since he is rather stable, we simply don't know how much longer it will be until we have no other choice.
It just feels inevitable that our time with him is limited at this point as each day goes by...
Again, I don't know when it will come to that, but needless to say, right now it's incredibly hard to see my once energetic playful boy struggle to walk properly, to see his little brother Whiskey nudge him in vain to try and get him up to play like they used to, to see my little brother just sit there and hug him and not let go for minutes at a time as he tries to process things.
I tend to keep my emotions pretty much to myself, and I don't think this whole thing really set in fully until I began typing this journal. I'm actually crying over it for the first time while i'm typing right now. I've never lost a dog before, this is so much harder than I ever would have imagined and it technically hasn't even happened yet.
Tyson was the first puppy I raised, he's been all I had for many years throughout high school while my parents got divorced, and even though I no longer live with him I still constantly see him since he's with my mom and they live 5 mins away. To think that sometime extremely soon I'll go to visit my mom and I won't see his happy face at the door to greet me ever again, it's unbearable.
I think I may need to take a brief break, I just don't feel well mentally or emotionally. I just feel like I'm being crushed by this enormous weight I can't escape from right now, my heart hurts so much.
To those waiting on commissions, I'm so sorry, I'm not closing or forgetting you or anything like that, I will 100% get things done as soon as I can! I just can't really bring myself to draw right now

If he gets to the point where he's visibly miserable or is unable to eat or is in pain, we've accepted it would be selfish of us to keep him around if he's suffering and have decided if he gets that bad it would be best to put him down. While right now that's not on the table since he is rather stable, we simply don't know how much longer it will be until we have no other choice.
It just feels inevitable that our time with him is limited at this point as each day goes by...
Again, I don't know when it will come to that, but needless to say, right now it's incredibly hard to see my once energetic playful boy struggle to walk properly, to see his little brother Whiskey nudge him in vain to try and get him up to play like they used to, to see my little brother just sit there and hug him and not let go for minutes at a time as he tries to process things.
I tend to keep my emotions pretty much to myself, and I don't think this whole thing really set in fully until I began typing this journal. I'm actually crying over it for the first time while i'm typing right now. I've never lost a dog before, this is so much harder than I ever would have imagined and it technically hasn't even happened yet.
Tyson was the first puppy I raised, he's been all I had for many years throughout high school while my parents got divorced, and even though I no longer live with him I still constantly see him since he's with my mom and they live 5 mins away. To think that sometime extremely soon I'll go to visit my mom and I won't see his happy face at the door to greet me ever again, it's unbearable.
I think I may need to take a brief break, I just don't feel well mentally or emotionally. I just feel like I'm being crushed by this enormous weight I can't escape from right now, my heart hurts so much.
To those waiting on commissions, I'm so sorry, I'm not closing or forgetting you or anything like that, I will 100% get things done as soon as I can! I just can't really bring myself to draw right now
sorry if this whole thing sounds dramatic haha. like i said, I've never gone through losing a dog before. I grew up with Tyson, it feels like i'm losing one of my best friends, and so suddenly. He was so healthy three weeks ago, then all of a sudden he can't walk correctly anymore out of literally nowhere. I just don't know to process this i guess

Been meaning to get back into RP cause i find it a super fun way to develop characters, so if anyone wants to RP hmu on telegram or discord! I'd love to get to know some of y'all's wonderful characters ^^
I'm pretty flexible and like to go with the flow and build stories around characters and their interactions, so it doesn't have to be like a super strict linear plot unless you want to make one, I'm super down for that too! I usually type in paragraphs (sometimes more sometimes less depending on the scene. I'm not picky, you don't have to be a novel author or anything lol )
Can be ERP or regular RP or both, I'm down with whatever, tho I do love a good mixture of both!

I wanted to start out by thanking everyone for your support.
You've truly made my transition to FA such a wonderful experience and I'm so happy to be involved in this awesome community.
Anyway, on to the part you're here for lol:
After my brief break, I'm now pleased to post that I'm officially opening up my commissions once again, though I have changed some things up that you should be aware of.
I've officially updated my prices a little in the new year and I have updated the commissions tab to clean things up in order to make requesting a commission easier by splitting up the background types as separate options.
Be sure to take a peek at the new commissions price tab if you have commissioned me before as things are a bit different now. I'm really sorry about the little price hike, but it's necessary as my own living expenses have gone up slightly now that I have a house.

Backstreet’s back alright

Been a while! Life’s been a little bit crazy in humble ol Florida with the virus spiking to astronomical numbers because our leadership is non-existent and incompetent.
I had been brought back in to work on campus at my soul-sucking office job a couple months ago despite the spiking numbers, so I’ve been so busy and mentally drained from that I’ve had no desire or inspiration to draw what so ever. That along with wedding planning, I’ve simply just been so busy I haven’t had much spare time.
However, surprise surprise, someone in my work building tested positive on Wednesday, so I’m now back working from home until further notice hooray!
With that, I’ll be getting back in the saddle now that my schedule is far less cramped and I have a chance to de-stress thanks to working from home.
To those waiting on commissions, I’ll be working on them in the coming days!
Can’t thank y’all enough for your patience!

Sorry for my absence lately! Things have been crazy!
I travelled to Chicago a couple weeks ago (in the middle of a pandemic I know I know I bathed in hand sanitizer all week)
And when I got back home my work put me on a mandatory two week quarantine bc I was traveling. Fortunately, they were able to set me up to just work from home. So I’ve been working from home for almost three weeks now it’s been lit.
Though I’ve been home, I still haven’t had tons of time to draw.
I ended up taking in a surprise cat last week. I’ve never had a cat before and already have an OCD 3 year old border collie, so I’ve spent the last few days trying to get them used to each other oh boy it’s been a struggle!
Things are starting to settle down now, so I hope to get some commissions and personal art done soon!
Stay safe out there, fluffs! And remember, DONT HOARDE TOILET PAPER ^^

Each commission type only has 3 slots. I will keep the end of this journal up to date on the slots when they are occupied.
Rules
- Payment will be through Paypal (USD only)
- I do not give refunds unless I am unable to complete your commission for any reason.
- I will send you a sketch for your approval. Payment may be made either before the sketch or after the sketch has been approved. (I can work with you on this)
- I will not proceed with working on your commission until you have both approved the sketch and sent payment. (I can work with you, just be in communication with me)
- Please be patient, as I have a full time job monday-friday, so sometimes my plate is rather full at times.
- If I am unable to complete your commission in at least 90 days you may request a refund. (I will be in contact with you if I am busy, and will let you know when I will be able to start working on your comm.)
