How do people do this so often?
Posted 15 years agoHere I am writing a journal again, and I really haven't much on my mind. Classes are over so that either means I'm going to be submitting more art or I'm somehow be even less active on here. "Straypaws" remains going strong for the time being, but as the finished pages slowly dwindle down, it makes me nervous...
I have been putting some steam into my commission right now and it has put sort of a slow-down on my comic production... However, Warioware DIY could also be doing that same thing, I dunno.
Speaking of DIY, it's just great. I'm having a lot of fun coming up with ideas for games and trying to implement them. I want to share them on here, but I'm not totally sure how I would go about doing that...

Your character in a comic?
Posted 15 years agoIt's quite possible, my friends. See, I'm currently doing "Straypaws" with a nice stockpile of pages, but I'm surely drawing more as we speak right now. Though I have my main characters carefully planned, there are naturally going to be scenes where I need extra background characters.
That's where you guys come in!
I'm having a casting call to generate some attention for my comic! Leave me a comment on this journal, or a shout on my front page with a character you think should show up in my comic as an extra!
Now, as the comic has some semi-realistic constraints, I can't just put in whatever comes my way I'm afraid. I also won't do copyright characters or anyone you don't have permission to use; it's tacky and I don't want to get in trouble.
Sending in a character won't guarantee their appearance, but if they do make it in, I will most definitely tell you (and give credit) when they appear!
I hope this kind of thing is exciting, because I love to make my viewers enjoy what they are seeing! I hope to get a lot of ideas!
P.S. I can just make up my own characters, but I thought I'd have some reader involvement, so don't call me lazy(for this at least)!

A little late today...
Posted 15 years agoI know I just started this, but I'm afraid the next page of "Straypaws" may be a little late due to the fact that I am not at my computer basically all day. Before you start throwing full champagne bottles at the screen, I promise I WILL upload it today, just probably around Eight-ish (EDT). So no worries, I haven't fallen off the horse just yet :|.
Oh my goodness!
Posted 15 years agoI am actually SHOCKED. Look at me! SHOCKED! I was just idly uploading "Straypaws" to have comic examples and BAM!! So many people cheering me on for more! I can't thank you all enough for your support, and it makes me SO happy to see that you all are enjoying it! I had actually halted this comic for some time, but maybe I should consider putting it higher up on my list for work!
Coming up
Posted 15 years agoOver the next few days, I'm gonna be uploading some new stuff. Sorry I haven't really been around for long, but school has been keeping me kinda busy to finish a lot of drawings.
So don't go anywhere, we've got a great show coming up!

Posted 15 years agoNot exactly sure what to write today. I haven't really posted anything in a long time just cause of how much work I've been up to in school.
Soon enough I should be flooding the front page with a bunch of finished work, so it's not like I haven't been busy :P.

Commission Stuff.
Posted 15 years agoI'm currently open for commissions/requests/trades/whatever. I don't really know how to have set prices for commissions, but you can certainly send me a private message and I'm sure we could work out a deal that is reasonable for the amount of work you want done.
Generally Speaking, I'll say my prices listed here are only starting prices and when we discuss a commission, I'll be raising or lowering depending on simplicity/complexity. If it's a portrait of more than one character, it will probably drive up the price, but only slightly, depending on the job. Any bells and whistles that cost extra on the piece can be negotiated, and as always, you are free to pester me over PM or MSN at jacksoncobalt[at]hotmail.com (You might need to PM me your Hotmail, since my MSN is sort of buggy.)

I work mainly in digital media and have a great amount of interest in working on art for a comic idea or even just a series of images. My prices are listed on my front page, but typically for a comic I will work ranging from ~10 to 20USD per page, depending on varying negotiable details.
I am always working on my comic-ing technique. Here is an early work of mine titled "Straypaws":

I'll do custom orders, of course. So if you want it colored a certain way or other things added, PM me and we can talk it out..
For a start, I'll probably take one or two orders at a time. Depending on my school workload, I can have an average commission done in a week or two.
