What happened to Tardis99?
Posted a year agoHey guys!
It's been a while, hasn't it? That's life I guess.
I recently noticed that one of my friends Tardis99's account is currently pending for deletion. What happened to them?

Happy New Year 2024
Posted 2 years agoHey guys.
Wait, it's New Year's Eve already?!
Personally, I feel like 2023 was a bit of a disappointmnt for me, creativity-wise. Life sadly got in the way of writing my next story, as well as other things. Hope 2024 will be a better year but I'm not crossing my fingers. We'll see. With that said, Happy New Year!!!

I'm absolutely sorry for not speaking for so long. Life seriously got in the way again.
But hopefully I should be a lot more active soon.

The root of my depression...
Posted 2 years agoHey guys.
So, I thought I’d get off my chest what’s been dragging me down. This will be quite different as I rarely talk about my personal life. I’ve been a mostly private person from day 1 when it comes to my offline life. So, here’s my story.
December 9th 2022 started off as a normal day. I was having breakfast at my local café when I got a call from my mother saying my grandmother had hurt herself quite badly and she needed my help. So I left my half-eaten breakfast and quickly drove up to her house. But what I saw really shocked me.
When I arrived, I saw that most of the upstairs for was covered in blood. My Mum was on the phone calling for an ambulance and my grandmother had been wrapped in a duvet cover. She had an accident and was covered in blood, having bleed from a cut in her forehead. I was told to stay with her and keep her company. I tried to, but soon I walked out of the room she was in. I started hyperventilating. I was in shock. I think I was having a panic attack. My Mum told me to go downstairs, which I did. I ran into my car and just sat there completely numb, with my seatbelt off and my hands on the wheel. I didn’t get out for roughly fifteen minutes. My Mum came to check on me after that to see if I was alright. I said I was fine, but really I wasn’t. I felt I wasn’t allowed to not be fine when my grandmother clearly wasn’t. Anyway, I was told I could go home after a community responder paramedic, before an ambulance could.
When I got home, I was completely numb with so much going through my head. I just sat down, not knowing what to do or what was going to happen. I tried to watch TV to calm myself down. And that same day, I was asked to drive my Dad to hospital as he had a pulmonary embolism and had to stay for a few nights. On top of that, I had look after his house (my parents are separated) until he got out. By then, I was already overwhelmed with my real life stuff on top of that.
I tried to confide in my Mum after all of that that I didn’t want to celebrate Christmas this year and that I wanted to spend it at my Dad’s. But my feelings were more or less brushed off, as I was told that nobody had died (which is true, thankfully) and that I should just try and let go of it.
Eight months later, I haven’t. While both family members have been fine since then, I’ve been isolating myself from my family a lot more since then. I keep looping back to those events and I've been unable to move past them. I'm scared to go through something like this again. And more importantly, how do I move past them? Someone please tell me. I really want to be more active again but I desperately want this lifted off me.

A little encouragement from me
Posted 2 years agoHey guys.
I've seen a lot of you guys go through your own problems with some bad eggs in the community, be it having their art defaced or stolen or being picked on verbally or threatened by others. And it's led to them giving up or wanted to give up. But I just want to say this:
Those bad eggs who demean you, shame you or mess you around in those ways can't stop you from doing what you love doing or intaracting with those who are in your corner. No matter how much they throw at you, they're the weak ones. Deep down, you are the strong ones. Keep doing what you love doing, regardless of how some people act towards you.
Nothing or nobody can really stop you.

Depression and anxiety are the worst...
Posted 2 years agoHey guys.
Firstly I want to apologise for being mostly absent from here. But there's a reason for that. Recently I've been suffering from depression and anxiety. I rarely talk about my personal life because I'm a very private person and have been since day 1.
Life's been wearing me down since December last year when we had two family members in hospital and I was pretty much the only available person to help. They're both fine, in case you're wondering but that's really brought me down big time. I thought it would go away but somehow it hasn't.
Another reason is because I've become worried about my friends here if they're going through some kind of problem either online or in real life. Sometimes I try to help them, other times I just don't know what to say or do. I just feel helpless knowing that there's very little I can do. For example, a friend of mine online, who will not be named, has been dealing with a stalker who keeps coming back every year or so to bug him. It angers me that this low-life just won't back off and is causing my friend major annoyance. And I feel helpless all the same that my support and advice may not be enough to help.
I've also seen a lot of fear surrounding NFTs and AI art. What are my thoughts on these? They should be illegal! Peroid! I really hope this dies down. Wishful thinking I know.
So yeah, these are the reasons I;ve been mostly inactive. I do hope so in time. But who knows when that will be?

Apologies for my absence
Posted 2 years agoHey guys.
I just want to apologise for my absence over the past few months. There was quite a bit of family drama back in December and, aside from talking to people through notes, it's really slowed me down here ever since. Hopefully I'll be more active again soon.

Future Raccoons Characters
Posted 4 years agoHey guys.
Well, I'm about to get back into writing Raccoons stories, and after revealing Lily's love interest recently, I thought it was time to introduce some charatcers who'll be joining my headcanon cast.
https://sta.sh/0u005nxs0qn
Name: Jason Bracken
Animal: Badger skunk hybrid
Gender: Male
Nationality: Canadian
Age: 17
Personality: Easy-going, loyal, tough, friendly, argumentative (at times), emotional, focused, reasoning
Attire: Dark blue hoodie, dark blue jeans, white sneakers
Bio: Jason is an old friend from Lisa's hometown. When he arrives at the Evergreen Forest, she is a bit apprehensive of seeing him again, considering he has a history of troublemaking with Donna. Prior to moving, he was a troubled young man and would often hang out with Donna, often breaking the rules with her. When something happened that got them both in trouble, he realised that Donna was too reckless be around and decided to move to the Evergreen Forest to start anew and change his ways. He is also shown to be really good at basketball and baseball and comes in handy to his team when major games are happening. He also becomes fond of Lily, and unknown to him she starts to feel the same of him too. But he does wonder how she'll react to his troubled past...
https://sta.sh/0z0p8ob10js
Name: Ryan Wisker
Animal: Cat
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Personality: Loyal, a bit of a show-off, athletic, a joker, hardworking, cocky (at times), encouraging
Attire: Green grey jacket, grey jeans
Bio: Ryan is an old friend of Lisa from her old high school and basketball team. He was second best player in Lisa's basketball team, and this tends to make him rather arrogant at times. However, he still manages to support his teammates in the heat of the game. Ryan unknowingingly is up against Jason for the role of junior reporter at the Evergreen Standard, only to not get it. However, things still look up for him when Schaeffer gives him a job as a part-time waiter at the Blue Spruce Cafe. But that doesn't stop him from being a help to his friends and with Bert at his side, he is able to help crack a case with him whenever something big in the forest is going down.
Name: Jordan Redfield
Animal: Raccoon
Age: 16 1/2
Gender: Female
Personality: Easy-going, punkish, sporty, stubborn, self-confident, bold, tough, friendly
Attire: Navy jacket, burgundy t-shirt, black jeans
Bio: Jordan is another old friend of Lisa's. Known for her dyed red hair and mohawk, Jordan may come off as your typical punk, but she does have a loyal, friendly side when it comes to her friends. When she's not hanging out with her friends, she mainly works as a part-time assistant at Willow's along with Aaron. But she also works as an occasional papergirl for the Standard, filling in for him when he is ill, though due to Bert's endless energy it can be a rarity. Although she gets on well with her friends, she first clashed with Lily due to their differing personalities and her dislike of cheerleading, as well as jokingly calling her 'Blondie', a name Lily does not like to be called. However, she soon warmed to her, though they still tend to disagree from time to time. She also looks up to Aaron for how good he was at basketball. She also enjoys other outdoor activities with her friends, be it a friendly basketball game or a camping trip in the Forest.

Get to Know: Aaron Marigold
Posted 4 years agoHey guys.
After posting Lily's "Get to Know" journal, I thought it was also appropriate to do one for Aaron as well. Hope you enjoy learning a bit more about him.
https://www.deviantart.com/aisudi/a.....gold-763384880
NAME: Aaron Joseph Marigold
ANIMAL: Border Collie
GENDER: Male
NATIONALITY: Canadian
CURRENT RESIDENCE: Evergreen Forest, Canada
HOMETOWN: Alberta, Canada
AGE: 19
RELATIONSHIP STATUS: Single (was previously in a relationship with high-school sweetheart Jessica Martin for four years)
FAMILY: Lily Marigold (younger sister), Grace Marigold (mother), Joseph Marigold (father, deceased), Monica Carpenter (aunt), Louisa Carpenter (maternal grandmother)
CAREER: Currently working part-time as an assistant at Willow's General Store
PERSONALITY: Aaron is an open-minded and easy-going young man. He's a polite individual with a love of nature and yoga and an interest in sports. He also cares deeply for his younger sister Lily, often there to give her a hug and some kind words whenever she is feeling down. He always looks to see the best of each situation and is willing to work out the root of the problem. He is also a peace-keeper as he manages to prevent any arguing between his friends. However, he tends to be anxious when it comes to the welfare of his family and friends.
APPEARANCE: Aaron is a Border Collie; most of his fur is black and his muzzle, chest, hands, feet and tip of his tail are white. His facial markings are different from his sister; the markings around his eyes are white with a black blaze going down in between them to his muzzle. He has a small tuft of blonde hair which is swept to the right of his forehead. His eyes are also blue.
ATTIRE: Aaron's normal outfit consists of a green sleeveless jacket, sky blue t-shirt, grey shorts and a yin-yang medallion, which he inherited from his father. He does have many other outfits for some occasions, such as a tuxedo for formal affairs.
BIOGRAPHY: Months after Joseph Marigold and Grace Carpenter married, it was during their first Christmas as a married couple that Grace gave her husband the best gift he could ask for: she was one month pregnant with their first child. Eight months later, their son, Aaron, was born. Having inherited his father's facial markings, his middle name was Joseph, named after his father.
As a child, Aaron looked up to his parents; his father Joseph for everything he achieved in his archaeology career, and his mother Grace for being a nature lover. When Grace first took him on a nature walk as a toddler, he was amazed by all that nature had to offer. During his time at his hometown, the local city park would be his favourite place to hang out.
He was very keen on sports and soon gave baseball a try. His elementary school team won many of the local baseball games they took part in. This led to Joseph giving him his own personal baseball bat for Christmas. The bat itself is now no longer in playable condition, but Aaron still keeps it as a reminder of his father. He is also into basketball too, though only as a casual game.
During his time in high school, he soon caught the attention of a young dance student, a Labrador Retriever named Jessica Martin. He introduced himself to her after complimenting her on her choreography. Over the weeks they got to know more about each other, talking about her love of dance and his interest in music and sports. What soon connected them together was when he offered to help her with her choreography for her upcoming recital. Once they had finished, the two soon shared their first kiss together. He promised he would support her at her recital. That night, after performing to hundreds, she was presented with a bouquet of roses from him, and a promposal, which she accepted.
After spending a romantic evening together with his girlfriend, Aaron believed that things would be on the up for him and his family. However, after turning 17, he was about to face a devastating tragedy. While his parents were away on an archaeological dig, he and Lily were preparing a welcome home party for them. While she was out getting the last touches for the party, Aaron received possibly the most devastating phone call of his life: his father had died after being crushed by falling rocks in a cave.
Joseph's death had affected Aaron the most; the number one role model in his life was gone and he had not anticipated it happening, having previously taking for granted that he would return from every archaeological dig. For a long time, he became withdrawn from his family and friends, refusing to talk to anyone about it and unsure how to grieve for his father. It was there that Jessica came to him at Grace's suggestion. After talking things over with her, it was there that he finally broke down for his father in her arms.
Once he had done so, Grace, wanting to keep her husband's memory alive, gave Aaron Joseph's yin-yang medallion as a reminder of the loving husband and father he had been. For nearly the next two years, the family went about their lives, with Grace taking over her late husband's position in archaeology and helping her children look for housing elsewhere. They soon settled on a small cottage in the Evergreen Forest. There was only one obstacle however. Jessica had accepted a dance scholarship at the University of Alberta. Before he could move, they tried to make arrangements of making their relationship long-distance. But they soon realised that it would be hard to make it work and decided to amicably end their relationship but vowed to remain good friends no matter what.
After moving to the Evergreen Forest, the siblings quickly adapted to their new surroundings and quickly made friends with many of the Forest's residences. Young Bentley Raccoon quickly became friends with him, which almost put his friendship with Bert to the test. But things smoothened out after. Moving however didn't come without its negatives however as weeks after the second anniversary of his father's death, he began to have nightmares of his mother being killed the same way. But he was able to lay it to rest after opening up to his sister Lily, who he shared a close sibling relationship with.
Today, Aaron is busy living his life in his new surroundings, working part-time at Willow's Grocery Store and keeping in contact with family and friends, as well as hanging out with the new friends he made. Though his father's death changed him in many ways, he is still doing his best to make sure that his family is safe and well.
