last of my trio
Posted 10 years agoYara, my old fluffy husky passed away last night. She was the last of the trio Lady the border collie, Yara the husky, and Benjamin the sheltie.
I miss all of them and hope they're in much better place.

Home
Posted 11 years agoWell, I'm just about all settled in. I've completely renovated one of the rooms and made it look brand new. Picking up all my appliances today, and only have the electrical and a small bit of plumbing left to repair (hobo junkies tore out all the copper piping and some of the electrical). By time I'm done this old house will look brand new, modern home.
The drive up here was insane. I really don't know how I didn't drive off one of the mountainsides or something crazy (a few semi-trucks did). The entire way up was sleet, snow, and solid ice roads. This didn't help that I was hauling a 7000 pound trailer with all our junk in it. When I weighed in at base before leaving and the gross weight of my durango with the trailer was over 11,000 pounds. What normally used to take me little over half a day's drive in the summer while cruising in my trans am took us three days, having to stop at hotels because the roads were so bad at night. I managed to get us up here with everything in tact and no (but almost like 5) accidents. Never doing that again unless I'm getting paid. =P
I really do miss everyone down in North Carolina. I made an awesome group of friends down there. I don't know anyone up here in Michigan anymore. On the bright side all my family is up here and they've been mad helpful getting us set up in my new place. They even gave us all our appliances for free and helped with some repairs. Once summer comes around and I've really set anchor I'll get around to finding more friends up and, and I'm definitely going to try staying in contact with ya'll down south. =3
There's a lot to be done, but I'll manage.

EAS. It's in the game.
Posted 11 years agoBoom! Saturday was my official EAS. It feels so weird; no one to tell you what to do, no where you have to be, look however you want, wear whatever you want. Feels good.
Who knows. I might sign up for the reserves just as backup; just have to see how things fare when I return home.
Speaking of home, I'll be moving back to Michigan soon. I'm going to terribly miss everyone I've got to know and befriend here, and you can count on me to visit every so often and run into me at cons and events.
I want to thank everyone down here for their friendship and hospitality. Without all of you, living and working here would have driven me off a cliff. I definitely won't miss this base though, that's a fact.
Man I'm going to miss everyone.

Back to the Grind (Post MFF)
Posted 12 years agoWell I think I've finally wound down from everything that went down at the end of November.
MFF was a straight up blast. Partying, dancing, hanging out, mad booze; we had it all. I even suited for a little bit, but I won't go into the details of that night for the sake of a certain bear (get well soon!) =P
I hope to make it to more cons so I can see everyone. People may think we're an odd bunch, but no one parties like furries.
Just as planned, I checked in from leave right on the thanksgiving 96 (4 days off). That gave me additional time to cool down and just relax from work and life. Was also my B-day on the 2nd, so that's just another bit that got thrown into the mix.
I'm glad I had such a good time during the end of November to help counteract its beginning (lost two of my pups and the work place took a turn for the worst.)
Thanks to everyone for being great friends and having a good time with me. I look forward to being with everyone whenever the chance presents itself.

Lady
Posted 12 years agoSo this morning at 0400, my pup Lady passed away. I was up with her since 0230 since she was acting stranger than normal and was having pains. She's been by my side since I was 14 and now she's no longer here; just her shell. I've wrapped her in a white sheet and set her on the foot of my bed until I can have her cremated today.
It was bad enough that someone stole my other pup Benjamin a few weeks ago, and despite notifying the entire area of his disappearance, putting up signs and fliers, and driving around looking for him, I've yet to find out where he went. Now I've lost my childhood friend to layer onto his loss.
I don't remember the last time I really actually cried.
I can't think of anything else to type right now.

So this...
Posted 12 years agoAwesome!!!
Start my duty day off by dazing out around a curve and going sideways into a ditch taking out an old mailbox and mashing up my car. I had just got off 24 hour duty and was heading home to so I could pass out. Guess I passed out early and lost control.
The mailbox hit my driver side mirror and sent shrapnel into my hand. A piece of glass found its way right into the vein on the top of my hand and splattered blood everywhere; crap poured all over my good cammies and sprinkled the inside of the car.
I'm having the insurance guy come appraise the damage, but I'm probably just going to fix everything on my own. I thought I jacked up the axle or wheel bearings on the back but it might just be the tire losing air.
Another day in paradise...

*Update*
Met with the insurance guy today. He inspected the damage and told me that by the company policy standard the car is totaled. They'll give me the kelly blue book value of the car before it crashed and let me keep the car itself. Just have to decide on using the money to fix the car, or getting a new car and setting the trans on the side and slowly fix it back to full health as I can afford it.

Injustice
Posted 12 years agoI just heard about user
cheetahjab being accused of brandishing a weapon at another driver on the road with no proof. It all sounds incredibly sketchy and unfair that the law just scooped him up on the whim of a possibly illegitimate person, causing undue stress and loss of time and money. I seriously hope he wins his case and makes an example of the accuser if they acted of ill intentions.
I couldn't imagine the things I would do if caught in that situation, and it pisses me off that the state just thinks it can waste someone's resources like this.
My best wishes and support goes out to him.

Michigan and Anthrocon
Posted 12 years ago[left]What a crazy (expensive) two weeks. It didn't start well that's for damn sure.
(WARNING: This first paragraph is about Michigan, it was crap. The only good that came from it was picking up my JAGDFOX license plate and visiting my Family and a friend. It's really just a bunch of TL;DR complaining. I recomend skipping it.)
Not two miles from home I wasn't paying attention as I was setting my GPS and a cop got me for speeding; jerk refused to give me a warning. After a ever so eventful (no) 15 hour drive I finally arrive at my bro's place in Michigan at 1 in the morning. Checked out his nice new place then had to pull all my crap out of storage, good news is, the only Uhaul available in a 100 mile radius is a giant (and expensive) 26 foot truck. I drive two hours to the storage unit and pull everything out, by myself, in the rain, balls. I tossed a lot of the junk into dumpsters on the way back to my brother's. I arrive back again at 1am, park the truck, shower and pass out so I can start unloading in the morning. While I'm pulling everything out of the truck and sorting it into my bro's garage I get a call from the sheriff of the town up by my storage. At least the guy was polite and informed me that the owner of the car wash was complaining that he didn't want to have to dump the dumpster early and must have found a stray paper with my name in one of the boxes. So I finished unloading the uhaul, cleaned it out, returned it, then took my brother's pickup to the dumpster and pulled the old shelving pieces out. That night after unloading everything into the fire pit and starting a giant bonfire I finally got a chance to relax. I stayed up till 3am just watching the fire and tossing more wooden junk into it. Woke up late the next day, went for a run (saw some friendly horses that let me pet them) then went to visit some more family and hung out with my friend
. The next day I went for a run and must have took a wrong turn because the run ended up lasting almost 2 hours and turned out to be over 9 miles; sore legs... That night I took off from Michigan for Pittsburgh...
I arrive in Pittsburgh around 1am and meet up with Kohaku in the parking garage (commence parking garage con). We do some tailgating at the garage and wander around the city at night desperately looking for food. Oh thank heaven (and Raptor Jesus) we were saved by Seven Eleven. We hung out till the sun came up and I decided to try and check in early. Not only did they let me check in early, but they let me swap my single king room for a double queen (bong!). That first day was just a waffle around and wait for everyone to trickle in. My room posse consisted of
,
,
and
.
I honestly don't even remember some of the nights. We were shmamered as soon as the sun went down. I ran into a lot of familiar faces; a lot of the NC furs and a few other friends. Our usual gang consisted of myself,
,
, and
who we met at the Military Furs breakfast and turned out to be a really good guy. You could find us anywhere as long as you could hear the BIRD! x3
The last night
loaned me Contour Coyote so I could get some fursuiting in, it really helped me know what it'll feel like when I finally get one of my own and for that I thank him. Lastly, right as I was leaving for home I ran into
who spotted my car and chatted me up, I didn't get a chance to talk with him much because the hotel dude was shooing me away. I really can't even go into detail about everything because so much happened and I don't want to write a novel here. All I can say is good times were had, and new furiends were made.
A shout to some of the furs I ran into. (I'm really trying to remember here =^^= )

Bad karma or sumthin
Posted 12 years agoHit a fox on the way home tonight; right as I was turning down my home street. Made me feel like crap. I was driving like a total butt all the way home, then just as I turn down my street and about to pull up home I just see an orange blur and "thunk". Used my phone as a flashlight to check on the little dude; aslpoded, so at least he died on impact. It just makes me feel bad when I think if there was a family or something waiting for em. Hopefully he was a bachelor.
Hope he's surrounded by lotsa pretty angel vixens.

Absence
Posted 12 years agoJust wanted to apologize to everyone for me being almost non-existent.
As some of you know all of March was wasted with me going on a month long field op. Immediately upon returning I moved into another place, and at the same time, was abruptly transferred to another command. I've spent the last two weeks packing, moving, settling in, and getting used to my new work place (which I really don't care for). Most of the time after work I'm just exhausted and play a game for a couple hours then pass out at the computer. We're almost done getting things in place here, but there are still some repairs I need to do to the place.
In better news, I finally resubmitted another dependency package for my mom who I've been taking care of these past two and a half years while stationed here. If it gets accepted this time I'll finally be able to get my head out of this pool of debt I'm in and catch up on bills.
So in about a month things should start looking up for me and I'll start opening up to everyone again.
Look forward to an eventful Summer and I wish everyone the best.

Fieldcon 2013
Posted 12 years agoSo I've been out here for two weeks so far leaving me with just one week left to go. Been busy providing support to 10th Marines artillery, and though it sucks hard that I missed FWA, I still had a few small good times out here. Today was the highlight with myself and another good buddy of mine leading some fellow Marines to the artillery firing lines. The gun crews and their OIC were happy to give us a rundown of their activities and operations, and even let us pull the firing lanyard on the M777s during fire missions (talk about some serious shockwavage). =P
Upon returning and taking accountability, I informed a few coworkers that I was going to go "PT" which is code for sneak down to the cold, murky stream for a bath (had already done it twice). Shortly there after, I was informed that I would be going with two others to the mainside of Fort Bragg to take care of some things for one of our junior Marines, and that I would get the chance to take a shower at one of the gyms.
Happy was I!
I actually took a good hot shower instead of wading bare assed through freezing water and muck that'd suck you in all the way up to your little friends. I feel like a million bucks.
To add a cherry on top of my cake of a day, we made a couple pit stops to the PX to stock up on mad amounts of energy drinks as well as Burger King to remind our taste buds what good o'l greasy American fast food tastes like.
Now I'm back in my little tent (We moved from large squad sized tents to individual tents last week). I'm clean, content, and have a backpack full of energy drinks and beef jerky. Only one week left to go. Can't wait to see everyone when I get back.
Love all of ya!

Posted 12 years agoI'll be on a field op on Fort Bragg for pretty much most of March. I'm bummed that I'm going to miss out on all the parties, meets, and FWA. I should be online occasionally though since I'm bringing my laptop and hotspot, so I'll try to keep in touch with everyone.
See ya'll in 3 weeks and hope everyone has an awesome month. =3

Om noms for Christmas.
Posted 12 years agoThis Christmas it was just me and mah pups, so I cleaned from noon till 6. After I was all done I cooked myself and the pups a good holiday feast (on a budget). I cooked up some ham and some pork'n beans with mirin and cinnamon, then using the same sauce I cooked the ham in, I cooked a can of beef strips dog food and stirred in some kidney beans for the pups. On top of what I cooked for them I also gave them some of the beans, one plain doughnut each, and 4 large cubes of meat each. (They actually ate much better than I did. x3 ) Now they're all fat'n happy for the night.
Hope everyone else Christmas was relaxing as well.

Posted 13 years agoHey ya'll. =^^=
I know everyone rarely hears much from me, and I just want everyone to know it's not because I don't like any of you or want to distance myself for any reasons; I love ya all. I've just been busy and tired, and to be honest, I don't have much to write about on a daily or even weekly basis. If I wrote constant update journals they would consist of "Yo all. Woke up, worked, ate, played a game then slept." I should be at least hopping on messenger more, but instant messengers just lost their appeal to me for some reason. If only I could afford a good smart phone, I'd just text and chat with everyone like through that.
Aw well. I just wanted everyone to know I'm still alive and just busy trying to make a living. I'll also be a little scarce all of November because I've been enrolled into Corporal's Course and if I'm not busy doing their little take home assignments, I'm passed out from the physical fitness training they like to roll around in. Online college courses will come after that's done with, so that will be another task grabbing up my attention on top of work.
I love ya'll like bros and sises and look forward to the good times we'll have when we hang out. =3
Peace.

Good times
Posted 13 years agoThis was a pretty Awesome weekend.Fist off, the picnic was pretty lively by time me and
kaothewolf arrived, and I was so happy to see everyone liked my Kitsune Udon. It's a pretty common Japanese meal, but not something I'd get to eat everyday, so I'm glad it came out well despite me have next to no cooking experience.
Afterwards we formed a group with myself,
kaothewolf,
Casey,
Frizzlewolf,
xoven,
dsm_huski,
jaceshepherd,
kobalthusky,
roryhusky, and
cybershepherd, and we all headed over to On the Border to stuff our faces, have a drink, and partake in shenanigans.
The night didn't stop there. After eating we headed over to this trampoline park and just bounced for an hour and collided with random strangers in midair (was actually a decent workout).
But wait, there's more. After we parted ways with the others, myself,
kaothewolf, and
dsm_huski decreed that there should be a after the "After Party" party, so we crashed at the Sheraton Hotel; took out the booze; opened a tinychat; and proceeded to have our own little room con. I had started drinking too early and couldn't stay away long enough to witness the other twos' mad antics. The ironic thing was that while we were getting wasted, there was a recovery seminar for recovering alcohol and drug addicts on the first floor. x3
Come Sunday we somehow managed to peel ourselves from the comfy hotel beds and drove off to meet up with the others one last time. They were all whoopin it on in a game of paintball. After Saying goodbye and wishing Casey a happy B-Day, me and Kao started our trek back home. After dropping him off I was greeted by good ol everyday life what with me being completely broke and the AC in my place being broken. Guess I had to pay some price for having such a good weekend.
I just wanna say I had fun hanging out with everyone; Kao, thanks for all the help (I'll get ya back); Casey, I hope you had an awesome birthday; and Xoven, we still love ya, stay safe. =3

Back at last (Still too soon)
Posted 13 years agoWell I'm finally back home and all rested up from my vacation. Checking back into work yesterday just made me wish I were still up North hanging out with friends and family. I really enjoyed myself these past two weeks between spending time with friends & family, partying, going to Anthrocon, and getting to see the sights.
The drive up was tedious as usual, though, I had
NXFelix and
-Artimis- following me, it rained on us for like 6 hours, and I hydroplaned and performed an awesome wipe out (thankfully with no damage to me or the car). Driving is always the worst part (though I enjoy the 3-4 hour drive through the mountains).
We arrived in Pittsburgh a couple days early, so we headed over to
Darkkfear and
TaikuShikami's place and hung out with them and
Shakraah and
Lorenzai. We all headed to Pittsburgh the day before registration and met up with
Xivir and his mate
Slaujer. We all had fun hanging out with each other or just wandering around doing our own thing. I spent the majority of the con either wandering around aimlessly like I always do or drunk, sometimes both. I did go to the Husky/German Shepherd meet and then the Fox meet where I ran into
Krieg_Fox. I also ended up running into
BadgerBen and
FlyingFire. We had a bit of an incident when someone stole Flying Fire's Prismacolor Pencils, so I found her some more the next day (hope the guy who stole her originals chokes on em.) I also saw
Kofu,
ScribbleDragon,
MarblesBravetail,
GoldFox, and a few others at the con and we socialized for a bit. Apparently
WolfeMasters was there this year too and neither of us knew the other was there. I bumped into and socialized with many other furs this year as well and overall enjoyed myself. When the closing ceremonies were over it seemed like Anthrocon had come and gone too fast. I can't wait for next year's AC as well as any other conventions I can make it to.
After crashing at Roxxy's place for a night we all parted ways and I headed up to Michigan to see the family and some more friends. Drove back and fourth visiting my bro Neil (wanted to see my other bro, but circumstances made it unlikely) my cousin Matt and his Girlfriend, and my Aunt's place (who had a lot of my cousins and their loved ones gather for a BBQ so I could see everyone). I also visited Wolf Masters and hung out with his sis
DemonicChronic and her friends.
After saying my goodbyes to everyone I ran down to Lorenzai and
Kibblepup's: place and hung out for the night and crashed. After I woke up I wasn't done though, because after the 9 hour drive to North Carolina, I managed to make it to half of what was left of one of the NC Fur Meetups (was super bummed I missed the Zoo. Would have loved to have seen the fox exhibit.)
After arriving home late that same night as the meet, I pretty much crashed for two days until it was finally time to check back into work...
I cannot wait to run around and hang out with everyone again. I really need to start making new friends at the cons as well since I have a tendency to wander up to people, chat em up, them wander off without getting any info. Aw well, I look forward to seeing everyone again soon be it at a meet, con, online, or anywhere else. Love ya's all and hope you all had as much fun as I did. =^^=
The drive up was tedious as usual, though, I had

An update. This week over at last.
Posted 13 years agoSo glad this week is over, it was the longest week I've had yet; just horrible.
It started with last Saturday. They called us in for a random little retarded gear inspection and then forced everyone to move rooms just to rub salt in the already open wound. This caused me to miss the meetup.
Monday was a giant regimental run. Nothing like running next to 100 other sweaty dudes while yelling at the top of your lungs to kick off this awesome sickness I've had all week.
Tuesday was shitty, literally. After just picking my uniforms up from the dry cleaner the day prior so I could look sharp while on duty in my chucks (service charlies), a bird promptly took a heaping crap on me the second I stepped out of the car which inflicted massive splash damage. What I wouldn't have given for a 12 gauge that instant...
Wednesday I up and ran the worst PFT (physical fitness test) I've ever run despite feeling more than up to it while bothering with this cold.
Thursday was some stupid break-you-off fitness program we had to go to at zero dark thirty in the morning (I brought my 5 gallon camelback just for giggles. despite everyone saying it was retarded, they still refilled off my portable garden hose after we were done.)
Friday we had to conduct a thorough inspection of the new barracks butt early in the morning in our chucks. We were promptly yelled at because the junior marines didn't get up to clean early in the morning...
Saturday = ZZZzzZZzzzz... hell yeah...
Sunday was just a errand day, I decided to take a breather, so I took my mom and saw Prometheus, freakin awesome movie.
I'll be checking out Monday to go on leave. I'm so excited since I haven't taken time off since we came back to the US. I really need this vacation.
*hugs you all* I'm also sorry to everyone that I've just always been so scarce and unsociable, hopefully I'll kick myself back into being a more active person and not always feeling like a soggy lump, and I think this time off will be the perfect start.
Hope to see a lot of friendly and familiar faces at Anthrocon. See you all there!

Meet at last
Posted 13 years agoThis weekend was freakin great.
I finally made it to a meet in the first time since I've been back and got to see most everyone. I stopped to visit
kibatheloanwolf (and got to play the patient =P )on the way to the park where I finally got to see a lot of familiar faces that I hadn't seen in awhile.
MarblesBravetail gave me a couple nice welcome home gifts too.
The park ended early since it started pouring out so I wandered over to :iconRuko"'s place and hung out with everyone there for a bit (played a lot of World of Tanks with
DixieLandoe and
GoldFox )
Lastly,
xoven invited me to stay over that night and we hung out for awhile Sunday.
Overall, best weekend I've had in a long time.
Thank you everyone and look forward to seeing everyone again.

Back to life
Posted 13 years agoHome coming day was pretty nice. Upon arriving on base, my mom as well as
HoneyPup,
LizTail, and Xoven (sorry, forgot your FA name =P ) were there to see me home. I took everyone to Red Robins, then later we saw the move "The Lorax", which was pretty good (I just enjoyed being in a real movie theater after so long =P ). We all said our goodbyes after the movie and went home.
Now I'm focusing on getting everything back in order. bills are backed up, my car has been almost literally falling apart, and my license and plates are expired and can't be renewed till the car passes inspection. I also have to look into my mom's and my three pups' health issues and buy my mom a car so she and I can both go to work. I need to take care of everything while still saving enough cash to make Anthrocon and the visit back to Michigan.
It's just going to to very hectic until everything is back to normal and I can really relax.
Thank you everyone you welcomed me home both on here and in person. I can't wait to finally see everyone and get back to enjoying life.
See ya'll soon! =P

Home!
Posted 13 years agoWell after 7 months I'm finally off.
I'll be home soon, I can't say specifically, but it's very soon. We're actually at a transit location temporarily. Everyone who is coming to my unit's arrival knows when, if you don't know where to go and want to, just send me a note and I'll try to get you in contact with someone who can give you a time and place.
I've missed everyone and really look forward to to seeing the good ol US of A.
See you all soon! *hugs*

Comming home soon
Posted 13 years agoSup everyone!
Kao beat me to it, but I'll be coming home here in about a month. I miss everyone and I'd like to invite some of ya to my homecoming if anyone would like to come. If we arrive during the day then there should be BBQ and drinks. I would hang out there for a bit and get a chance to see everyone, then afterwards we could maybe go to the movies or something; maybe hang out at the mall.
The way this would work is about a couple weeks from our arrival we'll get our specific return date. I would privately send you the date around then. You can't post that date online or tell random people, because if it gets found out that our arrival date is leaked, our flight would get re-scheduled for security purposes. I would love to see some familiar faces when I step off the bus, so it would be awesome to see some of you there.
Another thing. If anyone would like to chat with me while I'm at work (which back in the states is from roughly 10pm to 8am) just let me know and I'll send you my un-class work e-mail and we can chat on there when I'm not busy.
Everyone stay safe and hope to see ya soon!
