#1. Kaerwyn is only around in comic format because of Patreon Patrons and donators. And we're at a pretty low point as far as that goes. I could really use some help. Even if you only sub $1, it helps tremendously. You will also get early access (As The Patreon Patrons are 2 weeks ahead of public posts). Incoming Art Dump

If you hate getting spammed with a shitload of one person's artwork, you might want to unfollow me for the next couple of days.
I've already noticed an issue with it uploading tags/keywords. So I'll keep messing with this and see if I can get it to work right. If it does mess up stuff, I'm not really inclined to fix it. Sorry, I just .. really don't like uploading artwork. I know that seems messed up.

Gift Commission Permission Symbols or Icons
Posted 6 years agoEvery now and then, especially at this time of year, it comes up that people want me to draw pictures of their friends' characters or whatnot. There is always a lingering concern of if this is okay. Since I don't draw porn or even really nudity, it's never been an issue for me. But recently, another round of beware tweets have been making the rounds on twitter of people who get commissions of another person's character against their will. Often these characters are used in sexual displays, which some people do not want anything to do with.
In general, I have a policy that I won't draw other people's characters unless I know it is okay with them. But for strangers, I honestly have no idea what their policy is. Whenever I get one of these requests, the first thing I do is look up both the commissioner and the owner/creator of the character they want drawn. If I see a lot of gift art, I usually suspect it's okay. Most of the time, I can't find anything that would tell me one way or another, so I have to go by the request (Is it just a portrait? Is the character doing something that might be offensive).
Surely, there has to be a way to alleviate this issue both for the Artists who are commissioned and the Owners of characters that are getting done. In addition, if someone in good faith wants to get a piece of gift art for a friend, especially for Christmas or Birthdays, we don't want to contact them to ask for permission - that would ruin the surprise.
Here's what I'm thinking to help with this problem: We can make some kind of symbol, or icon, or whatever that a person can put in their social media/gallery profiles, something we, as Artists, can easily see and recognize. The symbols could be: "Gifts are Fine" or "Gifts are Fine with restrictions" or "No gifts, please."
The person can then link to some rules or requirements for their characters that the artist could then use. This would have really come in handy for me, earlier this month. And this way people can get gift art and make sure their friends know what's ok, and what isn't. This might also help stop an unsure Artist from ending up making someone's revenge porn or something that they thought would just be a gift.
I have not sat down and done any icons for it yet. I might make some later tonight, but does anyone have any input on this kind of thing? Anything I'm missing, or not considering? Has anything like this been done before and just isn't being used as much as it should?

The images are just shy of being 750x750px (The dragons and eagles are slightly larger because of the wings). All have transparent backgrounds.

Posted 7 years agoI won't be taking commissions this week. Our apartment has decided that all of our sprinklers have to be replaced and I feel this will be too intrusive for me to get anything done.

As far as the donations go that I asked for a couple of weeks ago, you guys beat the $1000! I've gotten $714 from Kaerwyn/BT's Patreon and $449 donations outside of that. So you're going to get 3 BT pages, and $5 off all commissions. Because I don't know what my schedule will be like in the next couple of months (as we're moving), I will offer the discount until the end of November. That should cover at least a month's worth of normal commission slots (~24 slots).

Posted 7 years agoHey guys. I think I've finally worked out a system for The Delta Project, which is my TF anthology comic series. Instead of trying to do a large comic issue like I was doing before, I'm going to start out doing smaller, single page comics about shapeshifting.
Here's two examples that I recently uploaded:

The way I am currently setting it up, for every $150, you get a page. If we start hitting multiples of $150, then we get extra pages with the same subject for that month.

One of my pending commissioners decided not to get their commission afterall. So I have two slots open today. There is a $5 discount on Against-The-Will type Transformation images this week.
I can usually do commissions within a few hours of receiving payment. Slots will be closed by 3pm Eastern Time.

Posted 7 years agoSo things might be a little rough for the next little while. I have some medical stuff I need to have taken care of (nothing life threatening, but something I can't keep putting off, and it's expensive). I'm also moving at the end of October. And my Patreon is down pretty low.

No Commissions This Week
Posted 7 years agoI didn't intend for this and boy is it going to hurt the wallet. But I'm directly in the path of Hurricane Florence and it's suppose to hit us sometime Thursday/Friday. So I can't risk losing power while working on commissions. And who knows how long we'll be without power.
I intend to have commissions next week though, and likely livestreaming on Saturday (22). This is assuming we have power back, of course.
